Try as I might, I can't get the virtual tour shot camera mode to work. On the forums for the AT&T variant of this phone, people indicated that the camera auto detects that it's a virtual tour, and will direct me with on-screen prompts to align a blue dot inside a white circle (like with photosphere) - but as soon as i activate virtual tour mode, there's already a blue dot inside the white circle and nothing happens. The camera button is greyed out and the only button I can tap on is the video button, but when I tap on the video, it just records video and bypasses the whole virtual tour mode. While in VT mode, if I tap on the settings gear, all the photo settings are greyed out and only the video settings are available. Are there certain video settings that when activated preclude this function from working? I'm so confused.
Here's a video of my attempt to use VT mode to no avail.... https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/105678/MOV_0040.mp4
Any help, guidance, advice and assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!!!

Hi all,
I have a small question: I have found that i totaly never use my front camera, (the rear one neither -lack of good quality- but thats another story ey) does anybody really use it. And if so, how?
To use front camera, go to
camera (by default back camera will get turned on ) > click anywhere on the screen (except on the button to shoot fotos ) > now you will see new icon on bottom left side of screen in portrait mode (above call button) click on that icon > it will expand camera menu > now go to 'menu' ( by clicking the 'gear' wheel icon in camera menu bar > this will open 6 menu window > here you can select resolution of your both cameras and adjust brightness, white balance etc. > in that click on 'camera' button ( bottom left icon ) > Viola....front cam on. ( its actually toggle switch between front and rear camera )
Hope this answers your query.
it's to make video calls usually with VoIP or 3g. But could also use it as a make-up mirror i suppose or to see if you have ketchup in your mustache as the case may be.
What a beautiful step by step guide to activate the front cam, though i did know how to get there. But thanks just the same. Its just that I havnt found any good use for it ( the ketchup in my beard is cleaned up now, txs) . As for video calls, does anybody use it. And if so, with what software ect...
I guess to use video calls you need to have 3G connection. No other software is needed. I'm not sure though......and for VoIP i have no idea
I was going to make a small app to quickly bring up the front cam to use as a mirror as that's probably the only use I can think for it.
I have taken a few photos with it though, it's not all that bad.
from the htc dialer or yota dialer.. bottom left button looks like a webcam.. thats video call
Does no one read? The question isn't how do you access the front camera, it's if anyone knows of any good use for it due to its quality and the presence of a better camera on the back.
Hiya,
Just a though, wouldn't this be great to use as a webcam in the application skype?
The main challenge would possibly be for the app to recognise the camera.
Iv'e tried this but to no avail.
Anyone had any luck with this?
I know I posted the question, thought a search would be preferred.

On skype website (more precisely on the helping forum) they explained that it was probably impossible to use the video calling on pda phone, because of some problems of data compression (the video is compressed before it is send, and pda processors aren't fast enough to do it), and they wouldn't change everything in their software, to make it compatible between PC and pda worlds.
For now at least...
Sorry about that, it would be a nice feature with our Hermes.

Click to collapse
However this was from an old thread, would this still apply or could there be a miracle cure out there? Could be wishful thinking, but definitely a good use for it.
Well Octro.com proved them wrong, check out the Octrotalk with videocall.
Front camera is still not working though.
I have a similar problem....
i go to camera, i click the icon to switch from back to front camera..... IMAGE IS BLACK even if i take a picture it's black.
i have also tried a video call.... image is black.
i'am on rom Dutty's 3.3 and i have also tried dutty's 2.4. same problem.
any suggestion to check if my front camera is broken ?
Hi guys,
I'm having a problem with setting contact icons on Windows Mobile 6.5. I'm actually running Dutty's Holy Grail R1, but I'm not sure that that's part of the problem.
To add an icon to a contact I navigate to the Photos and Videos tab. From there I select the picture and press Set as Contact Icon in the menu.
If I keep my phone upward all the time everything works: I get the crop selection, afterwards the Add to new/existing menu and I select a contact and everything works out.
However, then the contact icon is turned sideways. This makes sense, since the picture was also in landscape mode when cropping (i.e. the bottom was at the left side of the phone).
I think the solution by design for this is to turn your phone sideways when viewing the picture and selecting the Set as Contact icon menu item. This works up to the point when selecting Done after cropping. The next menu appears partially, or not at all, and I'm not able to set add the icon to a contact.
I've disabled Sense 2.5 in the UI, and that gives a bit more insight in what's going on. With Sense disabled and holding the phone in landscape mode, I do get the Add to new/existing menu briefly, but the start top bar also appears on the left side of the screen.
I think the phone is trying to rotate the UI to show the menu, but fails with the menu partially visible.
Are any of you having the same problem?
A solution might be to temporarily disable the G-sensor and rotate the screen manually. Or I could set the contact icon from the Contact card, but then I'm not able to crop. I'm actually using active sync, so I could also set my contact icons in Outlook, but the quality was really crappy when trying this.

Hey all
I (like others) have been experiencing problems when typing on the HTC HD2, keys being selected when I haven't pressed them, random words appearing and backspace going mental.
Anyway this morning I decided I want to lock my phone in landscape mode so I downloaded an application called "change screen" version 2.78 (June 17 '09)
(sorry I can't post the URL as I'm a new member)
Google this "change screen 2.78" and hit the Xda-developers link at the top of the results.
I selected the following options within the app:
Enable = Yes
Run on startup = yes
Ticked the last box only, the one with the phone laying in landscape (physical buttons to the left hand side) Then saved my settings.
The next step I took was to type out an e-mail in landscape mode.
Instantly the keys became more responsive and accurate! Result!
However what is odd, when you press a button the highlighted character is displayed, but upside down and on the opposite side of the screen. (please note, this is only the preview letter). It doesn't really bother me, I just keep an eye on the key I'm pressing and that seems to work.
I thought I would share this with you in-case you are having the same problem as I had, I'd be interested to know if this helps your typing.
BsB Tweaks
What really helped me was the option in BsB Tweaks
Screen Sensitivity > Decrease Sensitivity > Option On
Yeah, I did try that and it helped a bit. Maybe I have a buggered phone...
Thanks for sharing zerosimms
Hi. Could someone please help me with the following that is driving me nuts. I have an international S5 version. If I use the stock Gallery app, If I crop an image and the image is too narrow, the app automatically displays a button floating above the image. If you press the button the image will automatically zoom and pan from top to bottom. This floating button (looks like three squares) will not appear for images that are not narrow. I spent hours Googling about this, but I couldn't find a single website that at least acknowledges that this option exists. What I would like to know if there is a way of disabling this, since the floating button sometimes goes above important details on the image and I don't intent to use this feature. Thanks in advanced to anyone that knows about this feature.

5) double-click function. In Settings - gesture control - Double-click to open.
6) painting the letters to open applications, experience super like it! For example, under the black screen, the screen will be able to draw the letter M to open the music it!
