So I just rooted my phone with cofface ,Download mode now displays Current Binary:custom and System Status: Custom
Can these be reset to factory later on ? Samsung and Official ?? or has the flash counter been tripped for good ?
Atleast ,no mention of Knox counter anywhere ...
As long as you stay on that bootloader and not update you will be fine. You can use TriangleAway to reset to zero. Stay away from any Knox bootloaders. So don't flash any stock roms via Odin I think from MJ8 onwards and any 4.3. You'll be fine with custom roms that can be flashed via CWM/Recovery.

Thanks !!!! SO HAPPY ! LOL .....so glad i didn't buy that updated Att version s4 lol ...
I know resetting the knox counter from (0x1) to (0x0) in Galaxy Note3 is very hard because it may related to eFuse and if that , then no way to reset it , and if it's Software , then may be someone find away to reset it
that is about Note3 , because Note3 already came with 4.3 bootloader
but about our S4 i9505 , it came with 4.2.2 knox free , so I think it's not related to the i9505's hardware , so it is Software
my first question is : can I reset my i9505 knox counter to (0x0) with someway ?
my second question is : can I downgrade to 4.2.2 ?
I know the knox will refuse the downgrade , but I did read about flashing the South Africa rom 4.2.2 , it passes the knox but the problem will be with the network driver , and it can be fixed with an 4.2.2 network driver
please answer me , and really thank all of you and I will respect all of your opinions whatever happy or sad news , thank you again

What is the error that appears in ODIN? Attach one screenshot if is possible :highfive:
I have a similar question,
I have an S4 with OmegaRom, Knox has been tripped and I want to update and wipe clean to sell.
Do I need to flash the same rom that the Omega one was based upon? (I.E XXUFNC9) Or will any stock 4.4.2 rom work? As I'd like the use the latest BTU one, which is only XXUFNB8
Once I've flashed stock, I undersrtand the KNOX apps won't work again, but will the device still be updatable through OTA and KIES?
Thanks!
