I am trying not to be one of "those" guys... I have been trying read through the 2000+ posts in each thread. What specifically are the differences between the 2 camera mods? They seem to do the same thing. I have installed them both. I can't tell a difference. Is it a preference thing like Nova and apex, or are there features that people have found work in one vs the other. Any help or pointing me to somewhere other than the OPs of both forums that would be great!
I'd like to know this as well. I'm currently using xdabbeb and personally I don't see a huge improvement over stock.

Stock camera on stock rooted kk is the best for me. Imho

Is see no difference , but xdabbeb mod is much more better in my mind cause its all in one app. Also there are many script codes that are taken from xdabbeb cam mod to jishnu's mod. In my mind thats copying so i think for now they are the same until xdabbeb update his mod

jishnu updates more often than xdabbeb but the best one is gpro2 or gflex rom ports cameras.
i am using cloudypro 2.0 and magic focus,4k video and 720p slow motion works like a charm. other mods does not contain magic focus, and super slowmotion does not work properly on them.

I know there are a few that use the MIUI camera. There's plenty of posts about that in the CM7 thread if you search. But just curious, what's "wrong" with the CM7 camera?

First. I am all cm! But the camera is lacking. Its a personal thing.

I don't think anyone is questioning the validity of you wanting a different camera. I believe BrettApple is asking what you don't like about the CM camera because knowing this information could help people make better recommendations.
Maybe you want more special effect options
Maybe you want a different shutter mode
Depending on what you are looking for, people will be able to make better recommendations.
I've personally used CM7 stock cam, MIUI cam on CM7, Vignette (a market app), and Camera Zoom FX (a market app).
These days I just use the stock CM7 cam for most stuff. I occasionally fire up the MIUI cam so I can take advantage of the burst shutter mode. I don't have any other cameras currently installed.
So does anyone have a link to the miui cam? And would I flash it or install it with root explorer?

This attached version should be installable as a regular apk (i.e. no need to flash/push)

Does the MIUI camera still cause reboots with CM7? I used to get them all the time.

I got one. Not sure what setting though
Rest in peace Mr. Jobs....
If you are having reboot issues, I believe that turning off the AutoFocus will resolve. Some people seem to experience it more than others: I have no idea why.
If you disable AutoFocus, touch-to-focus still works.
I use the mini camera without any problems on cm7. I like it better than the stock for the versatility in settings. Is very easy to add.

Hello guys,
I am new here so wanted to know if there is a working Android Kitkat Camera APK for a non root LG G2.
Photosphere in LG G2 Stock Camera is not that good for me and I wanted to make use of the Camera app used by Nexus 5.
If anyone can point me in the right direction, i'd appreciate it.
Thanks,

Similar question except on ROOTED phone.
I'm running AOKP Nightly from 2/8/14, but the camera options only let me adjust to 8MP which seems kind of a waste on a 13MP camera. Any suggestions on fixing this (app or instructions on flashing apk)?
Thanks in advance

I've heard there are good camera mods for aosp but haven't seen any. What's the best camera for aosp and how does it do compared to stock?

I really like the new Google camera app, nice and clean interface, and the output looks really good! I do struggle with some shutter lag though (about 1 sec from I hit capture till it captures). I've found the different mods on the dev section to be a bit buggy on aosp unfortunately, otherwise I guess I would have used one of those. Does anyone have a solution to the shutter lag I'm experiencing? Running vanir ATM, but it was the same with PA and Mahdi.
