Pointless on a Nexus 4. The only "mods" I use are audio mods. This phone is fast as hell, and if it isn't, something is wrong with your phone

the only mods i would suggest performance wise is dalvic and bionic patches if you are on stock. http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/general/4-4-4-4-x-qualcomm-optimized-dalvik-t2546120
also a kernel for better battery life (undercklock undervolt) or overcklock if you really need it.
after that if you are on stock and want so other functions you could install exposed framework and gravity box or XblastTools. they have a tons of small modifications making your life way easier with nexus. i use this setup and it really change my phone to better...
All these mods advertising performance boost and such never did anything for me on any of my phones.

Okay thank you all. I am running Purity with Hell score and get roughly 5hrs+ screen on time(HEAVY usuage). But I'm always looking to improve

Is there another kernel that has a similar Eco mode? This allows users to limit the core usage to 2 saving additional battery while low on battery w/out big performance drop.

With motley kernel you run the following command in terminal:
echo 2 > /sys/module/auto_hotplug/parameters/max_online_cpu
It will disable 2 cores until you reboot. You have to put it in the inti.d script file if you want it to survive a reboot.

Franco r62 it could be found in his kernel thread under test kernels. It runs only 2 cores at all times.

Just to let you know, with motley's kernel, you want the experimental version. The mainline version doesn't support core disabling.

XDA app has been flaky for about a week on hot my Nexus 4 and Xperia ZL. Some days it just sits on spash screen, some days works flawlessly. Very strange...

Ever since i rooted, tapatalk (paid version) and Motorcycle.com (similar) have not allowed me to log in. however i downloaded tapatalk 4 hd version and this one does let me log in. is there something that i did wrong when rooting my sprint gnex? i am on the stock ROM and 4.2.1 as well. everything works great expect for this and gps (kinda finicky)
not sure why but nowadays tapatalk 4 doesnt precache the next page. kind of irritating to wait for the next page to load. anyone has the same issue?

I'm sure if you find a way to port all the touchwhiz framework then it could be done. I know things similar to that have been done, for example I remember about a year and a half ago the sony xperia framework was ported to aosp, installable as a flashable zip. This enabled absolutely every proprietary xperia app/feature, like the xperia exclusive games, bravia engine, etc. on any phone running aosp-based firmware
Hmm....i think that would not be possible. Because N4 doesn't have that sensor.
But maybe i am wrong....

The S4 uses the front facing camera to detect eyes from my understanding. So it may be possible with the newest touchwiz framework.

Quality has decreased dramatically since the new version has been released.
The YouTube app now uses nearest neighbour scaling instead of bicubic scaling. Just ugly. Aliasing artifacts and pixelation everywhere

You only need to uninstall the youtube updates. 720p with proper Scaling, much better, still no 1080p...
