Does anyone know if the GNote 3 will work with the smart dock and a DVI connection on a monitor? Or do I have to just buy a monitor with a HDMI connection?
Get a hdmi to dvi adaptor they are pretty cheap

Need Seperate Adaptor
It would have been nice if they had built either an HDMI or MiniHDMI port right on the tab, but instead, you need to purchase an adaptor for HDMI output.
Samsung makes one called the "Samsung Galaxy Tab HDTV Adaptor", Samsung part number EPL-3PHPBE. With it, you plug in one end to the 30 pin connector port on your tab, then connect the 30 pin power cable that came with the tab into the adaptor (thus allows the unit to charge / stay charged while in use), and connect a standard HDMI cable to the other end of the HDTV adaptor.
You can purchase direct from Samsung, $49 I think, but I got mine on Amazon for $24.95.

there is a HDMI cable designed for galaxy tab 10.1 (a cable not a dock ) to be attached to the buttom of the device directly
Is this something i could get at bestbuy or is amazon and ebay my best bet?

Hi, I'm wondering if there is a video out option for PCs, Ive only been able to find mhl hdmi adapters for the nexus 7.. would it be possible to modify the hardware of an mhl adapter and/or develop an app that allows a PC video in connection via microUSB for use as a dual monitor?

I know we have hdmi out cables to display phone on a tv but...
Is it possible to do the opposite... use the phone as the display via hdmi.
E.g. laptop hdmi out -> adapter -> phone.

Hey folks.
I've been thinking about this for a while and I wonder if it is technically possible.
Basically I want to build my own desk dock. It should have HDMI output, charging and USB otg for connecting peripherals.
I'm not sure if it's possible this way, though.
I was thinking of using an otg y cable (with female usb and female microusb) as a base. The regular female USB would be hooked to an externally powered USB hub (just for the sake of having more than 1 USB port available). The female micro USB would be connected to a slimport HDMI adapter (to allow using it with a monitor or TV.
If anyone knows about the technical possibilities please let me know. Maybe someone has tried something like this before?

If I'm not wrong - n4 can't do usb otg and slim port hdmi at the same time.
