Hi i want to update my SGY to the latest version...
but my problem is my phone is locked to globe telecom (SIMLOCK)...
I can't update using kies not supported says "kies"
is there any other way to update my phone? =(

just update via an ota using your phone.. you could also unlock your phone using galaxy toolbox app from doky..
dload it from googleplay..

Does any one have any freezing problem on booting after the OTA update from Samsung?
My S4 freezes on booting showing Samsung logo. I have to force start many time to complete the start up process..

Flash a firmware again using odin and reset after that this should work

I'm on stock touchwiz, tried to root it using auto root, I enabled usb debugging, got into download mode, flashed using odin but failed. When I rebooted it showed firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please use kies and use recovery method. Please help guys.

I tried what you said but it just keeps failing. I was also trying to root and flash a custom recovery but both just keep failing. I cant even use my S4 right now..

Change the USB Port, make sure you dont connect to USB 3.0, change the cable
If all of the above failed try it on another pc

I've encounter this problem once before and this is what i did to get flash success through odin.
close all running program on your pc.. start odin and plug in your usb cable.. please do not use your pc while flashing stock rom on your phone because this is why it kept falling..flashing stock rom on galaxy s4 took pretty long time since the file is big.. just wait until the process is finish..
note : you can still use download mode when you get this message ( firmware upgrade encountered an issue )
p/s : i didn't see that it already has been solved.. i'm very tired when writing this so i think i might just post it here so other member can get clue when they encounter this problem

I successfully installed Gennxt rom provided by Balli but it has issue in toggling wifi and mobile hotspot.
I was not able to post question on their development thread thats why i am posting it here. Anyone, please help on how to fix this issue as this rom is really great to have.

The mobile data issue is with every one as it's a ROM fault
Don't know about the wifi issue have you flashed any kernel over it

No I have not installed any kernal or anything else. I tried to go back to stock using kies but that is failing now. I don't know why.
Anyone, please help either with the wifi fix or how can I go back to stock rom.
Also mobile tethering is also not working. Similar to wifi switch it does not turn on.

Try clean installation of GENNXT ROM as i am also using it and i am not facing any such issues( exept the mobile data on/off it is with everyone)
or to get back to stock download the official firmware( kitkat if u are on kitkat GENNXT or JELLYBEAN if you are on GENNXT JELLYBEAN)
you can get the official firmware from sammobile.com and flash through odin ( make sure USB DEBUGGING IS ON).

I tried to do the clean install but it always fails. The process gets started and the the download mode gives error.
I don't have any other option yet. Anybody please release a patch or something to fix the strange issues as this rom is really great. I love it.

Sorry if I was not able to explain it. I was able to download the firmware. The error appears on mobile screen with download mode when trying to flash it using odin.

Its INU. Btw on sammobile, its only G4 for INU and INS.

Where is voice controll?
I have also installed this ROM and it's working perfectly for me with no such issues as wifi or mobile data connectivity problem. I just missing the Voice Control feature which was there in stock ROM but I could not find it here.
I can not post on the ROM thread so asking here. Please help.

Hello guys i just bought a samsung A700F and i tried to root with odin and while i waited it said failed and when i tried to reboot i got a warning about firmware update failing and that i should use kies to get it back working but the deal is that kies are not recognizing it... as of now only download mode is working... please guys help me asap
