Not sure if Verizon S5 Has it, but on the advertisement for the phone, there was a feature where you can change focus after the picture was taken. Does anyone know how to take a picture with that option?

Check out the link below, it's a screen shot of my camera. You'll want to tap the second icon on the left side, and if that isn't there then look for that icon in the settings drawer, also labelled "Selective focus".

Surprised no one has mentioned this, when I try to set a photo taken on the phone as the wallpaper, it asks me to crop a selection from the picture. After setting the wallpaper, it is blurry (in the same way a picture is blurry when you zoom in using gallery). I'm guessing this is just a bug that will be fixed in the next update?
When selecting the picture for wallpaper, Select an edge of the yellow box, and stretch it 'till you select the whole photo/as much as you want.
For some reason, multi-touch to zoom in here doesn't work, whilst it does on n1. (n1 running stock 2.2 [FRF91], and Galaxy S i9000 running stock XXJF3)

Hahahaha. God damn. I was wondering why it would only let me select a tiny bit of a picture as a wallpaper and thought to myself - "why the hell didn't they add in the feature that Rawat has just described". For some reason I had never even tried, I just assumed it wasn't there.
So, thank you good sir I can now apply a whole picture as my wallpaper
It's a retarded system. You give it the exact resolution and it makes you crop it.
If you use .jpg it seems to end up blurry not matter what due to poor recompression.
I've found using .png of the right dimensions works much better.
My setup is a folder of .png of 960x800 and "Wallpaper Rotator" to switch between them every x time.
Got Vignette app last night, and I am not sure I am using it correctly. At main screen I can see auto focus borders, but they are too wide, so pictures look like they have fixed focus.
My question is: is it possible to reduce those auto focus borders somehow, to get focused item, and blurry edges for the things that are not in focus?

I've Got the Vignette app and there are many options to be tried out.
The focus is very sensetive and i need to take more shots in bright light but so far the best results have been taking the picture via the on screen button and i know this is basic but give the lens a wipe as well.
I have a feeling there is a gerneral bluring with this app regardless to simulate particular film stocks.
To avoid this you can use the normal camera software and import those photos or any photo from your camera roll and apply the style you want then save over the file or save a copy.
I hope this helps.

You mean something like a macro mode?
You could try taking a picture with the 'Vignette' effect added onto it (The name of the effect itself is Vignette)
thanks for quick responses guyz, well I am not sure if it does focus actually. I mean physically lens tries to focus, but I dont think it actually focuses anything, so I thought maybe it is possible to reduce those focus borders to get focused item on image.
pngface, yes something like macro, but not that close
Anyway since vignette is saving images withough jpg compression, daylight images will have even better quality than now(and now they are very good)
I've changed it about ten times but to me it always seems blurry. The stock photos looks pretty awful as well. Is that the way it's suppose to look?
Varies
It depends. It seems to have more to do with the image size than anything. I have both a Mac and a Windows box, and when I was trying syncing mine with the Mac for a while I checked the option to resize photos for the phone and all my hub tiles were really bad after that, when I sync from Windows and Zune with (presumably) larger pictures, I get the problem significantly less, though still the occasional pic it doesn't seem to like.
I'm talking about the main pictures double tile that you pin to the start screen. Not sure if your referring to the same thing. The individual pictures looks brilliant.
The panorama background in the picture hub looks awful as well but i don't really care too much about that one. My main issue is the picture tile on the start screen.
will wp7 ever be able to take screen shot
Have you tried choosing your own picture for the background?
In Pictures, touch and hold the panorama title. A menu should pop up allowing you to choose a new picture or have it choose one for you.
The panorama takes an image of at least 1426x800. Those seem to be the dimensions suggested to developers.

If you don't like the double size Picture Tile, you can make a picture a favorite and then create a shortcut to it. This will be a single tile, and it takes you to the pictures menu where you can still scroll through all your pictures. That's how I have mine set up.
Thanks for the suggestions Tempest790. I tried the pin to start favorite option but its still blurry. Its nothing like the Zune tile which is crystal clear and very sharp. I'm beginning to think that's the way its suppose to look. I think my only hope now is to find another owner of a wp7 phone and ask to look at their pictures tile which in itself will be a monumental task considering I live in New York and all I ever see here are iPhones and androids.

I'm currently using the iPhone 4 with the iOS 5 beta. I'm loving the photo album in iOS 5 because it shows where all of my geotagged photos have been taken.
I'm just wondering if the photo album of the Galaxy S2 and or Android 2.3 in general have a photo album where it'll show where the photos are taken. If not, what are the ways to enjoy/browse the geotagged photos?
yes
there is an option in the Galary
if u slide the option on the top to the right it will change the view to dates and geotages
You will need to turn on gps and set the gps setting to on in the camera app in order to do what you want to do.

Can you show a screenshot of how that looks like? I can't find one anywhere on Google.
Also, will it show an overlay of Google Maps with the geotagged photos pinned on the map?

Hi
Is there anyway to remove the selective focus icon after you have taken a picture?
Like when I take a select focus picture the. Go to gallery to view the picture that icon is bang on in the middle?. Can't seem to move it or hide it.
Thanks
if you tap the icon doesn't it just disappear?
Yes but comes up with the options to change the focus... Not just looking at the picture
Ok you click on which ever focus you need and then click save as in the top right hand corner. Save under whatever name you want and then it will save in your gallery without the icon
