As far as I can see, not every phone will get every feature. My HTC 8S for example, doesn't have Cortana. Kinda disappointing. :/

it worked on 8.1 Emulator .
Please pay attention .
WP8.1 Update has 2 steps you have to update your phone after first update you have to update again .
first one is about 20-30 MB and it's not 8.1 . you have to check for update again it's 8.1 update . (about 600 MB)
I think you get only first update . let me complete my update I will try it and answer

Yea I know, I have everything else, BUT Cortana. Also, the "Advanced Settings" in the Internet Explorer Settings don't work, ;D

I can't change the phonee language itself, it either stays English (United Kingdom) or German (Luxembourg) :/

Doesn't work. I think it's buggy for the 8S or even disabled. But still, why can't I change the language to English without doing a Hard Reset? I like having my phone set to English!

if you have multiple languages tap and hold on English (united States) and select Move Up
I managed to install Cortana, just did a hard reset and set the initial language to english.
Can someone confirm that apps can be installed on SD, really useful for us who only have 4gb

I just saw this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1499102
I read through a few posts but the point of this rom isn't very clear to me.
Does it add anything more than developer unlocking to your phone (does it even add that?) And should I unlock my phone with cheveron first or is that not necessary?
Also, my current (stock) rom doesn't have a 2G/3G switch. Any ideas if this rom has it?

The ROM is a "full unlock". This surpasses developer, Chevron and Interop. It allows apps to run on your phone with heightened privileges. Opera browser for example. It includes Registry editors, homebrew apps, Nokia sounds etc.
It isn't necessary to do anything before flashing, just follow the instructions properly! Yes, it includes a choice of your highest connection speed: 3G or 2G.
It's just a better experience all round!

Hopefully there's a wat to keep currently installed apps en text messages. Any idea about that?

I will never understand :-/ ...Why open a new thread, why not post in the right, exist thread?
My mi7Rom thread has over 192 posts.In 1st. Post I describe (very wide) all functions off this Rom. if you can read and translate (google or Bing translator) you will get ALL infos, also over battery life- BUT you has to read the whole Thread, not only few! For you is easier to ask as to read ....
with the os 8107 update we have a 2G/3G switch. for now NOT exist a way to keep the installed apps after flash a NEW Rom. .for messages try this

Regarding battery life: it hasn't got worse, if anything mine is better!
Love this phone more and more every day because of this ROM.
Definitely worth flashing it.

no for install the custom bootloader- it does no matter. ...which desktop pc system you use? the most user with windows 7 64-bit have the same issue:

I tried on 2 laptops , one with Vista and one with Xp .I started the prog , the pics of Focus and Omnia appear , i click the Omnia then nothing appears to happen

... then set your omnia in downloadmode: power off your device. press and HOLD camera button and Volume UP button and power button.
You get a BIG yellow triangle. usb connect to pc Now start 2. DFT_MLI_SAM1.exe, select omnia7 device and install the MAGLDR V2.00.

yes with this desktop tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20511436&postcount=1 it not need ZUNE to run! or, but MultiXapInstall.exe (start zune, wait syncing and start MultiXap) ...yes, normally you can sync music / photos back to phone with Zune

0. the usual do it at your own risk again. You can wait for TMO if you believe in those guys but I sent cabs myself and phone is running great so far.
1. grab them tools (wp7_update_tool and wp7 update cab sender) from here:

2. make sure you're already updated to 8107! Check out benjaminries excellent post (that I'm basing on myself): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1497142
3. back up as needed
4. grab the three cab files from above for 8112 and throw them in the same folder as your "wp7 update cab sender.bat" folder. Run the bat file and hit "s". 8112 is pretty quick to update. It'll reboot and then you should be good. Check your settings > about > more info to make sure you're at 8112.
5. delete the three cab files from the 8112 from your folder and throw the three 8773 tango cabs in it instead. Run the bat file again and hit "s" once more. Wait a little longer this time and after reboot, check you have tango on it.
6. check out what's new? I don't really notice anything... hmm..

So far the only added feature I've heard of in Tango is the ability to add a voice note to an MMS. The update is supposed to be primarily to build in limitations on handsets with 256MB RAM. It removes local scout, fast app switching, podcast support in the media hub, and HD video playback. Any handset with 512MB should be unaffected. There may be some minor bug fixes so it's probably worth updating, if for no other reason, because they'll be prerequisites to WP7.8, which will probably take the carriers eons to push.

Really? They haven't fixed that yet? I thought they were supposed to have fixed that in 8017. It actually does matter, because how I've experienced the so-called "dissappearing keyboard" bug is that (in the messaging app anyway) the text entry field loses focus and I have to tap it again to continue typing. On a regular windows phone, or a DVP with the keyboard retracted, that would cause the keyboard to disappear. I thought that's how this bug manifested itself for everyone.
I'm running through all the cab sending cycles now. I was experiencing that problem on 7720.

yeah that's it, techno.. it's supposed to be due to background tasks. Like in your case, when you're typing a message, an app (probably one you just came out of before getting into messaging hub) does something in the back (close? tombstone state?) which causes the OS to put focus quickly away from your typing so bam, keyboard disappears. Usually for me, I'm reading in Weave (or running other more resource intensive app) and I get a message notification. I tap on the notification and go to reply and the keyboard disappears midway. I've seen this on 8107 on an HD7 before too. YMMV, but my miles sure didn't... good luck though and report back if it fixes it for you.
I hear disabling background tasks for each app that you can under settings "might" fix it, but it didn't for me.

what to do ? please help. Before doing this i also did back up. but now that also not opening .

Same thing happened to me. You must have forgotten a file or something. Try reverting back. If you can't restore, you'll just have to factory reset, bring it back (I had to bring mine back to 7720) and then work your way back up again. This time make sure to have the language files included.

Not too sure about the Omnia W. Was there a firmware update before or between the updates? Check the OW forum to make sure . Like Sirataxero says, the restore should do it or a hard reset for a try. And for the DVP, you can always force flash back to 7704 and update again, so there might be something like that for the OW?

After updating also my diagnosis ver is 1109 which dont let me use windows break project or chevron etc.... so what is the other way now ?

Success! My 32 GB DVP has been working for 24 hours. Haven't noticed any changes though. Still runs smoothly and quickly.

Hi. I am using branded AT&T mobile phone. I updated it from 7720 to 8107 with this manual: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1497142
Now i am going to update it to 8112 and then to 8773.
My problem is that i want to install russian language. As i understand i have to add the language pack cab with number "0419". Am i right?
And another problem is that when i updated the phone from 7740 to 8107 i only added english language pack.
Maybe i need to additionally install language pack from 7740-8107 update? And only after that do another updates?
So what steps do i have to do to update my phone and to have russian language?

You're definitely putting the cabs to be sent in the same folder as Cab Sender.bat right?

hey man, glad you sorted your problem out. I have the same problem. Did you include *all* the language files or only the ones your windows came with? I have read you need to include only the languages that WP7 already had.
I hope I can update it to 8773, I really want reliable notifications!

I was having the same problem...
Don't right-click and "Run as Admin"... just double click on the .bat file like you would normally.

To add to this, I've always launched a command prompt, navigated to the folder, and then run the batch file from within that. If it's simply a "start in" issue that might also help but is probably unnecessary.

haha lol all the money in my appstore was showing up in yin and i had to buy it in yin for some weird reason i think i just flashed another rom to fix it try checking your language in settings
now 500 dollar question, what is settings in russian lol

alright your going to have to count and se how far it is down you dont have the interface option on ics so you can skip that one and language should be the fourth option under personel. hope this helps haha as i accidentally changed mine t german trying to screencap the list of languages lol you might not have "profiles" under personel
nope only about 5 different languages and none are english.

just go to the dev section Here you hhave to have an unlocked ics bootloader and be rooted for these to work. civato made some nice roms and randomblame has a nice jb rom out now it really depends what you want.
also you could try flashing it with whatever you flashed it with before js

The other question is, when i update ( if ) to GDR3 is it 100% i will lose interop unlock ?
And the 3-th asking, how to make on my screen 3 big live tiles on one area ?

You don't lose Interop unlock after update to GDR3. You'll lose it after Hard Reset.
The only way to unlock GDR3 is a custom CSC.
Can you install SamWP8 Tools?

You mean in SamWP8 Tools ?
When i try to change the colors, i do that, but when i press save, they arent in my settings themes
This morning the phone was updated to gdr3
In SamWPTools option accent colors all became black . Any tips ?
One more issue - wi-fi doesnt find my router. It find all routers around me, but not mine.

The router problem fixed. The problem was at my router . Atfer i reset it and made a new settings, the problem was solved
The problem with installation on WPHTweaks still on the table.

run Enable All Sideload once more. GDR3 added new capabilities and they are need to be unlocked.

If i go to settings-system i cant find software update,and if i go to HTC app inside the phone and search for updates is searching and nothing

1.What you mean "cant find software update" ; Do you mean there is no software update option inside settings>about ??
Or,
2.When you click software update its not being able to find any updates for you ?
