One of the "features" in the new kitkat is that the status bar at the top no longer has a black background, so I can't see the icons very well. Is there a way to change it back so it has a black background? Currently I keep pressing the menu button which makes the status bar more visible, which is very annoying!

I never really liked the dark theme that the nexus devices seem to have (black EVERYTHING). Is there any ROM that would give a light/white-colored theme? For example, instead of having the black bar for the on-screen buttons at the bottom, have it be white. Same with the status bar. The notification tray would have a white background and the system settings would have a white background. Etc.

I have a transparent nav bar (the thing that you pull down to see your notifications... I'm a bit of a noob) and transparent status bar, and it is getting boring. I don't want the regular stock, but I'm not 100% on going to another ROM. If anyone knows a way to get a TRANSLUCENT bar (kind of like IOS 7's) it would make me a happy camper . I have note 4 unrooted.
And i need transparent status bar in full screen.
I m using this app: StatusBar in FullScreen (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.jskt.togglestatusbar&hl=en)
to get status bar show up in apps with full screen.
And now i need that status bar in full screen to be transparent.
I need my default bar to be transparent not some artificial bar that is over the default one.
I would like to leave my phone unrooted.
you can use nova launcher, it has the option to make status bar almost transparent
I'm using full android 5.1 (2.2) Is there a way to hide the black bar below the screen (the one with triangle, circle and square shaped buttons)?
With miui9 u can set up the phone that waking the phone would show any notification icons in the status bar without having to unlock the phone.
Now with miui 10, it won't show the icons in the status bar. Instead just the big box like icons on the middle of the screen. Attached screen shot explains my issue. Can anyone help.?
