"REQ" LGhome Kitkat Theme APK - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I did a factory reset on my G2 and had LGhome Kitkat Theme before. I forgot to save it. After a lot if searching I cannot seem to find it again. Every link I find takes me to the play store and it says it no longer exists. Does anyone have the apk file?

Samething happened to me lol. Leftarmspinner was taken off google play because he had two accounts I believe. Hope things work out between him and Google.
In the mean time here is the apk (I don't know if this is the updated one but I just found it in my backups), by the way RocketSauce83 is going to make a new one and post it in the themes thread if you can wait. I'm using his sense 6 theme its really nice.

Thanks. That's the one. I'll watch for the other thread to see if there is an updated version.

That theme is the most horrible I've ever seen.

Can you please add "REQ" to your title?

Well after applying it this morning it must not be the latest version. Icons are really big and not very crisp. I'll keep my eye out unless somebody else has a newer version.

[REQUEST] 36 dpi navbar with stock battery

I just could find 36 dpi navbar with other battery mods, but I just want to change the navbar and maintain the battery icon as stock. Also when I flash 1 of this mods with battery mods and then flash the stock battery, the "back" button goes bigger than the home and the other button.
If some1 can share a flashable zip with the 36 dpi navbar with no other mod will be appreciated.

What ROM are you running. framework-res.apk's can vary from ROM to ROM, so the correct one would have to be modified accordingly. Better yet, upload your current /system/framework/framework-res.apk, and the odds of someone assisting would greatly increase
If you use AOKP you can adjust the size of the Nav bar

Well, I didn't mean if he currently was. I meant if he does run AOKP he can change it. I think a few other ROMs allow you to change the size of the nav bar as well

Ah, gotcha. My best guess is CM, since they're vehemently opposed to building that option in
Thx for replies. Im using Factory 4.2.1 unlocked and rooted
Enviado desde mi Nexus 4
I know I had tried to decompile the framework when 4.2.1 was first released but apktool wasn't working for 4.2.1 yet. I haven't checked if it's been updated to work with 4.2.1. since. If so I can make the change in literally 2 seconds. I have to hunt down the new version of apktool if it's around for my own stuff as well
I've already got it done for the custom 4.2.1 I'm running of CM. 4.2.1 decompiles w/o issue with the latest apktool.
I'd have to download the whole stock ROM to grab the framework-res so if the OP can upload, it would make life much easier for whomever wants to do it.
So I downloaded a stock 4.2.1 ROM (brain fart by the way, it's framework-res, not SystemUI), and quickly tweaked the nav bar height for you to be 36 dpi in both portrait and landscape.
Attached is the APK, that you can reboot into recovery, mount system, and push to your /system/framework folder (adb push framework-res.apk /system/app/)
I didn't have a chance to make a flashable zip, but can later if someone doesn't do so. Headed out now.
Nandroid first (untested, but minor change).

No problem.
BTW, just got home, so figured I'd drop this into a flashable zip.
Can't stress enough that each ROMs framework-res can be unique based on what is compiled in, etc, and should not be cross pollinated.
As such, I am "assuming" this should work on a stock / unmodified ROM, as I downloaded a ROM from the ROM section that claimed to be stock. Without working from the file directly from your phone, there's no guarantees, so make a nandroid first.
Here's a link to the 36dpi navbar for stock rom 4.2.1:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/14593842/jb/36dpiNavBar_signed.zip
Lastly, after doing this, I see there is another thread where some similar work has been done, but it looks like that also includes changes to SystemUI that may affect other things. This is just a framework-res tweak for the nav bar height only, and nothing else.
Hope that helps.
You guys make my day. I dodnt try it yet cause I dont now how to use the adb push . if you have time and can upload a fladhable zip, I will test it without a doubt. Also I think theres a lot of people who wants this mod.

This tweak flashes a modified framework-res. The actual buttons (image icons) for the navbar are provided in SystemUI.apk, so what you flashed does not touch that aspect.
It would seem to me, therefore, that you've flashed other mods that have modified your SystemUI.apk and the corresponding button images (best guess).
Can you share the flashable stock system ui? If not I will reflash the stock rom and then the 36 dpi mod

As long as you are rooted use an app like root explorer from playstore and you go to system then app and make sure you copy the app you want to replace to a safe place and put the new one in(the new one probably won't have an index so delete it from the system/app) and put permissions

RRO Layers on the Moto G 2015

It would seem that the RRO layers themes do work on the Marshmallow stock ROM. After hearing about Marshmallow supporting it by default, i decided to see if it actually works on the Stock Marshmallow ROM. As far as I can tell, the only thing that doesn't work for me is the soft reboot after selecting the desired layer and applying it. :victory:
Update - If after uninstalling certain layers, the theme doesn't change back to normal, then using a file explorer, go to system/vendor/overlays and delete all the contents in the folder.
Will this work in moto g turbo too running marshmallow?
I read a post in x play page that using two themes same time results in bootloop

I do not know.. It should work.. But you might want to make a backup of your rom and data in recovery before applying a layers theme.

This has always been an issue with RRO, if you apply some things that overlap what they do. Not exclusive to Moto X or any device, in the right combination it will bootloop, but you should be able to boot into safe mode, or via the TWRP file manager, and remove the offending APK's from /system/vendor/overlay, and reboot and the phone will be happy again.
Of course you can always backup and restore a nandroid, but layers was designed so this shouldn't ever be necessary.
Make a tutorial mate.

I'm not new to the rooting community. I'm only new to RRO. I've tried it on my old phone and i ended up crashing everything on my phone.. (Not moto) it was an asus zenfone. Since then i haven't tried layers. Given the fact that mm is supporting rro layers natively has piqued my interest for it, so was inquisitive abt it. Thanks mate.

I have busybox installed. I think the problem is that can't reboot correctly. When I reboot it seems it always does a softboot. The notifications remain, the recent apps too. Also some tweaks I made on gravity box (MM) that require reboot aren't applied.
By the way, sorry for my English, I'm Italian.

i also had the same problem because i installed busybox in "system/bin" but after installing busybox in "system/xbin" layers are working perfectly. I'm also using xposed & gravitybox.
It worked! Thank you! I didn't read correctly the first time (missed that "x"). The Gravity Box problem is still there (as expected) but i don't think this is the right place in the forums to talk about that. I hope to find a solution soon

Here is an arm 64 bit version for our Honor 8's. Let us all know how it goes.
Update: Too large to upload. So here is the link from apkmirror. Of course, one uses at their own risk.
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...p-6-13-5-16-alpha-arm64-android-apk-download/
How in the world did you get that working? Installing this apk just updates the version of the Google app I had.. I don't have any personalization in the settings window.
Nothing changed for me. Maybe it's because I have UK English or something else, but I'm running Nougat on my Honor 8, so not sure what else it could be.
Changed to US English and cleared the local data cache. Made no difference...
Any ideas?
Yes, very interesting.
I tried installing that too, but didn't work for me.
I think people are trying to figure out what triggers it. Could be location, language, some combination of settings, or some lucky number in the IMEI.
But hey, that's cool, enjoy it.
Hopefully it will roll out to everyone soon.
Still nothing on mine. Have tried all sorts.
Has anyone else gotten this to work by installing the Google Alpha that was linked? If so, what did you do to get it working?
