Downgrading 4.4.2 to 4.3???? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk

Only possible via custom ROM. Cannot happen with stock tars through Odin. Downgrading the entire software with bootloader is not possible thanks to Knox.

For example....I'm on sac23 custom 4.4 v3 NAE and I would love to try out a few of the 4.3 custom Roms available. I can run these? I don't think I'd go back to stock 4.3...if its stock...its gotta be kk!
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk

Yes you're fine if they are custom Roms .

Thank you so much for your valuable insight!

Can I just flash ota

Im on free gs4 3.0 (4.2.2) mf9 base very stock like but I want to return my phone for insurance and it cant be rooted so can I just flash ota without damage? I dont really have access to a computer so it would be much easier to just flash mk2 and of I can is there a particular way I should go about it?

NO.
You have to download mf9 tar and Odin that. You could dowblaod the tar file to your phone and use it with mobile Odin on the phone.

Looks like you're right. I had seen that the latest update fixed some issues with 4.3 GS4 but looks like its only the GSM variant.

Wait you're on MF9.are you sure mobile Odin doesn't work on it? I knew there were problems with 4.3.
You're phone wouldnt even accept the OTA if you are on rooted custom recovery.

You said you're on MF9. there's no way you could have the MK2 OTA as you would have to take MJA OTA before. You can't skip OTAs from my knowledge.
Yeah it shouldnt as OTAs check for modified stock files which will be in a custom ROM. Failing the install during recovery install.

Sent from my SPH-L720 using Xparent Skyblue Tapatalk 2
You might be able to if you get stock recovery and stock ROM while rooted. Not 100% sure.

This might be what your looking for http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2586586
By 'complete' I think he means unrooted stock MK2.

if one were to flash this stock MK2 over an already installed MK2 for a completely stock finish, would it trip KNOX? no because it's using stock recovery?
No, it will not trip knox.

[Q]Locked bootloader?

I have a question if I can install sacs kk v3 on my l720, L720VPUEMK2?
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
also if I don't like can I restore the back up I made using Teamwin
Yes you can. Bootloaders on sprint do not block you from using ANY custom ROM.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
How would I go about installing sacs kk v3
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
Search and follow instructions on sacs thread. With the questions you are asking I hope you know how to root and install a custom ROM if you haven't done so already.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
Rooted plus I backed up using TWRP
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
TWRP crashes on wipe and restore what is going on?
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
Might be a bad backup or recovery, try flashing the newest version and then try your restore again. Worst-case, your backup is corrupted and you'll need to start fresh on whatever ROM you have.
Are you trying to restore your backup for some reason?
Found out it was TWRP 2.7.0.0 recovery, but the backups go through and when I reboot it hangs at galaxy s4 screen. Scas custom rom would hang at Android kit kat rotating loading screen. I did give it 10 mins just in case it was the first boot but it never booted.

You need to use Philz or TWRP 2.7.0.1
Odin the recovery for best results and when flashing a ROM reboot recovery after doing wipes, then install ROM
Will safestrap work?

There is no need for safe strap . the bootlaoder is unlocked. If you're talking about the safe strap Roms from Verizon. They should work.

Sprint phones NEVER require safestrap. That is a Verizon thing because they have locked bootloaders. I'm on NAE rooted with Knox tripped and don't have any issues flashing Roms.
