[Q] Delusion with S Health... no compatibility - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello... S Health 3.0 is not compatible with previous version... so upgrading my note3 to new s5 I lost everything.
Months and months of training and loss of weight... lost!
I tried using the same samsung account... but in S Health 3.0 there is no option to "restore data from cloud" or from another database or phone.
Any solution?
My note3 is working yet and I've old S Health 2.0 on it.... I'm still using that one.
Thanks!

The one good thing about it is that the weight is lost as well

aha ha ha ah ah a! You're right, man!
If you go to support page... for example like this http://www.samsung.com/it/support/main/supportMain.do# and try to choose S5... you can see that THERE IS NO S5 in samsung products!
Maybe SAMSUNG believe S5 doesn't need support.
Next spot will be: s5, nothing can go wrong... ops... maybe.
P.S. I'm sorry for my English... s-voice can traslate it better.

if you're talking about in-app fitness logs, why not just wait till root, use titanium backup, and restore the data to your S5?

mmm.... very interesting. But I think it doesn't work because S health 2.5 (on note 3) and S health 3.0 have different data saving.
Maybe I can try freezing S Health 2.5 on note3 with titanium and installing S Health 3 on the same cell... maybe S Health 3 can read internal log files.... if S Health 3 can read internal log file, then it will update samsung account by itself.
Thanks for this idea.
I'm going to try it.
--- UPDATE NEWS ---
Ok... I'ved tried installing S Health 3.0 on my note3... it upgrades older version... but reads NO DATA. So, it seems there is nothing to do.
Nobody knows where data are written in S Health? Maybe I can transfer data manually, editing the right files...

Now, with new update of S Health 3, all is working perfectly. Issue solved, please close this thread.
Great job, Samsung!

Best way to migrate iOS text messages to SGS3?

So I'm finally getting an android phone and I'd like to keep my iphone text messages if possible. I've found some paid apps through web searches but I'm wondering if there's any good free way (preferably without losing imessages being associated with a phone number) or at least some feedback from actual users on which paid app is best/worth it.
I read online that samsung kies will do this, but Im not positive as I dont have my S3 yet. I have a 4S atm.
There are also ways online that show how to extract items from your most recent backup.
Hopefully there is an easier way.
Im interested in moving my calendar over as well as I have already updated my contacts at google.com/contacts
I think I saw that comment about Samsung Kies but I actually have no idea what Kies is and the only thing on the S3 about kies is Kies Air which starts looking for compatible devices. Guess I'll have to check it out.
Samsung Kies is an app for your PC/Mac. Kies Air is an app for your device. Make sure your are looking at the right application.
Well Kies did transfer the messages to my S3. It took freaking FOREVER, like 2 hours for 5500 text messages and it lost a little bit (MMS images were lost and it seems like some imessages came through fine but I'm fairly positive some were lost, no idea what was the determining factor but the majority seemed to work or at least well enough).
The guy at the ATT store told me he could do it, i don't know what they actually use but i said id just do everything myself.

They use a Cellbrite machine, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Personally I like to remove my texts from my phone but I have them back up to my gmail with SMS Backup+
Looks like your problem has been solved by an app, also brings over itunes:

Which apparently isn't available for the AT&T S3. I freaking hate AT&T sometimes.

Deleted bloatware with Titanium Backup

Hey.
First post here!!! But sadly I'm admitting to being a noob...
I recently rooted my galaxy s4 i337 and I heard about deleting bloatware so I was like, "hey that sounds cool!"
Sadly I did not realize the effects that deleting those files could cause to the device... I have factory reset my phone at least 5 times hopping that the deleted files would come back.... but they did not.
My problems are that whenever I pull up s-voice, I comes up with a message saying, "Unfortunately, S-voice has stopped working". I tried re-installing it with files I found from this site but then it started saying that I could not connect to the network so that was a dead end. I also have messages when I do various tasks says, "Unfortunately, Samsung text-to-voice engine has stopped."
I really need help!!! I change my main language text to voice thing to google instead of samsung and that helped a little, but I still get the occasional message and s voice is completely broken. I saw that re installing chat on could help and i downloaded it because I think I may have deleted it, but it made absolutely 0 difference...
Please help!!! Thanks

I'm going to assume your on the MF3 firmware from AT&T. Unfortunately it's not going to come back at all right now. When and if they release something other than a root tool for the MF3, your not going to be able to do anything else with your device as of right now. You can try to take it a Samsung Experience Shop at a Best Buy and see if they will recovery your phone. They indeed do have the capability and has been confirmed here on XDA that they can do it. My suggestion is to sweet talk them.
I had a similar 'voice' error at some point in time when I was toying with freezing some Samsung functionalities. It was several months ago to remember exactly what I did to resolve it but maybe this will help. Go to Settings - My Device tab, scroll down to Language and input, select it, then scroll down to the Speech section. Click on Voice recognizer and make sure it's set to Google. In the Text-to-speect options, click on it and make sure that is also listing Google.
I can't guarantee it''s the fix for your issue but hopefully it will help you troubleshoot.

Experienced the same issue, heres how I resolved it.
While changing the TTS to Google helps, it's still impossible to use S Voice with audio response and the error messages will still pop.
One option, would be flash the stock ROM: but this would be killing a fly with a shotgun. Second option, get Titanium Backup Pro, then go to the app "Samsung text-to-speech engine" click and hold on it and select "Convert to user app"; then wait for the app to be converted to a user app.
Restart your phone; and go reset the TTS to Samsung engine and voila you've got a happy droid.
PS. after selecting the Samsung engine it'll prompt you to download the high quality TTS voices (Eng(UK) is around 110mb).
I would suggest you freeze next time and not delete. I'm a noob too. I think I read that deleting them frees up no more space because of the odexing as well.

Wise words right there. Freeze let's you experience deletion but keep a fallback. And if you dirty flash rom updates, you get to keep the stuff frozen that would have been replaced.
Freezing is the way to go but maybe delete if you're staying with the rom for the long term and see no ill effects after long term freezing...
.
if problem still persists. try safestrap and install mdob rom. pretty much stock tw without the crap from att or samsung. use that until stock is flashable. you not even want to go back its very battery efficient.

that is some bloat!! they all seem to have bloat but your version and the Korean variants do seem to have a lot more,i'm sure the phones must run a little better once all that is removed, nice one for getting rid.
It has been running smoothly. Also happy not to be constantly nagged by sprint optimizer and other useless apps.

I have the international version but most are the same. I read the above and frosen all with titanium to test. If you have the time, it would be very helpfull to write what every one is doing so, to froze only what everyone needs.. Thanks,
Edit
1. i lost vibrasion
2. when swapping finger from home softkey, it froze for a moment and dont see options serch etc.
3. Lg keyboard goes veeeeery slow in every press..
Do you know which files is for them? Thanks
Edit2 . OK It was my fault. I was frozen by accident LGSystemServer.. Ok now..
Would the bloatware you removed be safe to remove from another model? I have the d803 canadian variant and haven't seen a list of safe apps to remove yet.

I'm not sure how you lost vibration or why your keyboard loads slow. I am not having any those issues. I would recommend posting a screenshot or list, that outlines the differences between mine and yours.

For the most part yes. If you are not a risk taker, I would recommend you use Titanium Backup Pro and freeze the app before removing it (and of course create a full TB backup).

yea I have titanium backup, learning how to use it right now. I'm only rooted though I dont have twrp or cwm installed. Is it a big risk for me to be doing this or do I need them installed because I only plan to root no flash or roms for me.
I can't say with 100% certainty as we have different models. I can tell you from my experience that I was fine with TB backup.

Anyone know if G2 has that "Carrier IQ" people have been referring to. How can we remove it If so?
Thanks for the post!!!
Awesome post! We should keep this populated with adverse effects so we can understand what some of the apps do or don't do.
I froze most of the apps you have listed without any real noted problems.
Thanks!
I'll do my best to update the original posts as others let me know what they find or if I discover any adverse effects. I'll note, having to work with sprint programming has been a bit dicey with what I've frozen. No permanent damage thus far.

I did everything in the first post and now when I reboot, I get an error at bootup. The error is...
Sorry! Unfortunately, Update Device has stopped.
Is there a way to stop this from popping up every time I power on the cell?

I would try re-enabling the sprint services again and then freeze them all leaving update-device the last one to freeze.
I took a closer look and we match. Another option is to give apply frozen filters in TB and post them so we can compare.
What I think is happening is it is still trying to do a firmware check and update (assumption).
Update Device Stopped
ChrisFSU,
I've reverted my phone to stock and went through the list again. I only get the error when update-device is not frozen. If it's already frozen and you have a NAND backup feel free to uninstall. Just keep in mind that you will not be able to use any of the update functions of the phone like PRL, profile, unlock etc..

OP had a provisioning problem and now has all the proper software.
I think have the same issue, what is the fix? When I moved all the stuff my s6 to my s7 edge, I seemed to have lost the sprint folder.

Try dialing ##SCRTN#. If that doesn't fix it and you don't have any of the standard Sprint junk (including Zone), you'll need to do a ##RTN#, unfortunately. (Unfortunately because that requires a device wipe.)
Not once in my life have I seen ...
Don't you mean his phone was fixed before, and now that the provisioning has installed a bunch of crap, now it's broken? Lol
I'm in the same boat as to OP; I don't see any Sprint bloatware, but I want Sprint Zone. I used the OTG and SmartSwitch to transfer my data over from my VZW SG6, I never really used the phone before transferring, so I don't know if I ever had the Sprint folder to lose it.
If I do ##SCRTN# will I lose anything on my phone? I've spent hours setting up my phone and I'd hate to have to do it again, (I mean logging into apps, copying app data, setting up custom notification sounds, restoring all Whatsapp messages etc.) I definitely won't go through this all again just for the Sprint Zone app.

Bumping an old thread here.
Installed on Echoe rom but only half works. Is it because of the rom or something with the apk?
If you run into this problem where your Sprint Zone is missing, Voicemail missing and the voicemail icon continually stays on your Samsung phone with Sprint. Go to the Play Store and download the Samsung Refresh Customization app....it works wonders!

'Omega Rom' Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge - Alterations Request

Hi Indie,
OK have now installed Omega Rom, restored my backed up 'data' in so all my settings, etc are back and all is good except....
Would it be possible to add an option (maybe on install) to remove the Samsung bloatware? (S-Voice, S-Planner, Quick Connect, Samsung Internet Browser)
All that stuff that is there but nobody ever uses [I use google now which has voice, and google calendar]
S-Planner is the worst because when disabled it just keeps and ongoing notification telling you its disabled (REALLY ANNOYING)
I'd be a fully happy man if this could be done in the next update,
Cheers!
