AOSP Kernal - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have a sprint LG G2 and would like to try ASOP version of Android. I downloaded two versions and two kernals. I couldn't get them to boot correctly. Any recommendations which ones work with sprint LG G2? I am running ZVA as well

How do I know if aosp roms work on my verizon g2?

I only see one "original" android development thread as oposed to the multiple carrier threads for regular dev... How do I know which aosp roms will work on my g2?
If the Rom has VS980 in the title, there is a Verizon version.

[Q] LS980 - Which ROMs are safe to flash?

Couldn't find an answer to this question, but I come from the Galaxy SIII (d2att) and with that device, you could also flash roms from d2tmo as well. You couldn't flash any other SIII roms on the d2att, though, because of a different partition layout and different hardware.
That said, this is also my first CDMA phone, so I'm really not sure how different they are. So can a vs980 rom, for example, be flashed on the ls980 and then flash a modem/radio/etc from the ls980? I noticed that roms like Mahdi are device agnostic and you install a patch for your specific device. Can this be done with any rom? I ask this because I'm tired of seeing so many roms that I would LOVE to use but can't because there's no ls980 version and it frustrates the crap out of me. It often feels like this is the most under-developed version of the G2.
tl;dr can I install a vs980 rom on ls980 then flash a radio/modem/etc?

Custom Rom recommendations

Hello everyone,
I recently rooted my LG G2, and would like to install a custom rom on it. I have been overwhelmed with the number of the roms that i have found for the G2. Some well known roms such as CM11 and Paranoid Android, and many others. I wanted to ask for recommendations on which roms to install, and whether it's best to install an AOSP based rom or stick with a stock based rom such as Cloudyflex or the Optimus rom. I'd appreciate any help or if someone could point out the feautures and benefits of each rom. Sorry if it's a noobish question
I've tried many, both stock based and AOSP. I've decided to stick with Pardus. It's very stable and battery life is great.
Cm 11 just right from cyanogenmod site for aosp or cloudy g3 get my vote.
Dormanx kernel is good on g2 based Roma with 2.8 ghz overclock, haven't tried it on g3 Rom yet.
Sent from my LG-D802 using XDA Free mobile app
Try cloudyg3 rom.. Amazing UI like g3
All apps ported from it
Amazing battery life =)
Thank you guys for your replies. I tried CM11 but would also like to try cloudyflex 2.4. It says that If I used an Aosp based rom, that I should install the KK baseband, but I don't know which baseband to use? I'm using the d802 G2 but there are multiple basebands for the d802. Does anyone know which one I should choose?

I have a d802 model and I've been using CM11 M7 no problems without flashing any different baseband

xdabbee different versions

just tried a couple of the LP aosp roms and think they need a lttle more work
i always come back to xdabbed g2 2.2 because i just flash 26a bootstack and restore dl mode and newr twrp then the included
anyhow i alwas see xdabbed g2 2.3 and also a vs982.5
what are the diff?
i feel like im using an old version as its 2.2 and not 2.3 or 2.5
what isthe correct one or best or newest or ya know.....whats the diff?
thnx
xdabbebs vs980 2.2 and up is a stock g2 kitkat ROM. vs982.5 is a g3 port and an entirely different ROM. Its very good. Knock code works too edit: BTW they are both kitkat
both or all 3?
so is vs980 2.2 being left for vs 980 2.3 if you dont do vs982.5?

Can LG G3 MM Rom ported to G2?

G3 Mm rom started rolling in Poland. Can it be ported to our phones? Do developers need MM kernel, source?
As far as i know it cant be done...just UI and apps and stuff like that
i remember reading someone saying , do g4/g3 have mm? then no, now that they have it that means it can?
same happened when lollipop was out and we were running kk, the thing is that as far as i understand, devs needs G2 source code from lg and then they will mix g2 mm with g3 mm, until the g2 dont get mm(and release that source code), then there wont be a port of the g3-g4-g28 or whatever
We don't actually get firmware ports. We get "OS" ports, or rather newer files mixed with a base firmware from the G2.
