Contact list filter - Java for Android App Development

Hello everyone,
I'm developing an app that requires the user to be registered in a server. Right now I want to show the user which of its contacts are using the app (registered in the server).
All the request/reply part is implemented. What I can't do is to show a contact list with only the contacts that the app receives as reply from server.
Note that I don't want to make the list myself but rather use something like this:
Code:
Intent intent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_PICK, ContactsContract.CommonDataKinds.Phone.CONTENT_URI);
which shows the contact list for the user to pick one.
Just to be absolutely clear, I'm talking about filtering the contacts the following way:
Code:
select * from all_contacts where phone IN reply_array
Thanks

Facebook association in bulk?

Hi folks,
I was just wondering, is there a way to set the phone to automatically associate the contacts in the phone with the relevent 'Friend' on Facebook, or do you have to go through each one in turn?
Just a thought.
Cheers!
The People app should bring up a list of suggested pairings based on contact name. This should appear in the Groups tab ISTR.
I assume that as long as your contact name is the same as the Facebook name, it should match them up. If you call 'Bob Smith', 'baldy' in your phone contacts (hey, he may be balding early), I doubt his 'Bob Smith' Facebook account will match up automatically.
Mine just pinged up a list and I confirmed each match (using check boxes) to link them.
Boringly I tend to use people real names in my contacts list rather than nicknames. It paid off

HELP: User ID is connected with facebook

Hello Folks!!
I have a big problem with my contacts...especially with my own contact card I have connected a few of my contacts (friends) with details from their facebookaccounts, for this reason you have to log into your own facebookAcc of course.
Well, this is the problem: Once you connect with facebook, your User ID will be overwritten with your details from the FB Account. In my case this is useless, because my FB Acc works with a pseudonyme But now i can´t use my HD2 with my own ("real") name, what is quite problematic in the context of software which is registred on a specific User ID.
Any help? I would be very very thankful...
i havn´t found a solution yet...for this reason:
*UP*
If you go into your contacts for whatever person is linked to FB, you can go to the very bottom after "editing" that contact and simply remove click on the "Tap to Remove Facebook Link".
I believe that will at least rid you of the connection that is causing this issue for you. I don't seem to have the same problem, the only thing it seems to overwrite is the birthday and the picture, so now whatever pic is on FB for that contact is what shows when that person calls, which is pretty cool.
perhaps my introduction was a little bit confusing (i think i´ll never get an oscar for my english^^), i´ll try it in other words:
There´s nothing wrong with the other contacts in my list, it´s just about my "owner card" (UserID of the Device itself), which has been overwritten by the "pseudonym-details" from my facebook account. For this reason some programs don´t work right now, because they have been registred on my "real" owner infos.
Do you now what I mean?
Try correcting your details in the registry, I think the setting you need is 'HKCU\ControlPanel\Owner\Name'.
Or create a separate contact with your own name and details, then choose 'menu -> save to my business card' (I have a Dutch device so I'm not sure if that's the name of the option). Not sure if that'll overwrite your Facebook nickname, but it's worth a try.

Address Book App

Hi,
I'm using the standard People widget at the moment on 2.1
What I'm looking for is something more like Outlook, where I can list people in the Address Book by prioritizing their first name, last name, or company.
I also find it frustrating that in the current Contact you cannot view the entire address of a contact. It shows the first line or so and then if you click it, it just opens google maps.
I also find the sidebar scroll throught the address book difficult to use. A simple alphabet down the margin would be preferable.
Any ideas/suggestions?
Thanks
Jack

[Q] Contacts - Usability problem

Hi guys,
I just got my Nexus and am a bit new to Jelly Bean so please be gentle.
I've noticed that you are now forced to use google contacts rather than being able to chose between google, phone and sim. This is fine but I don't see a clear way of separating my contacts into 2 groups and switching between the two. I need a 'Sydney' contacts group and a 'London' contacts group and I'd like to flick between the two and for this change to flow onto all the applications.
In the People app I can add people to a subgroup like Friends, Family, Starred in Android etc. If I go to:
'Contact to display' -> Cusomise -> untick 'My Contacts' and tick a subgroup
This subgroup will be displayed in the People app but the change won't flow into other apps. So for example, If I open messaging and start typing a name in the 'To' field, all the contacts in 'My Contacts' will come up instead of just the sub-group selected.
Does anyone know how to get around this?
Has anyone tried to do something similar? Have two separate lists of contacts?

[Q] Is it possible to add info from website to calendar?

Title says it all.
For example I see an address and just want to add it to calendar without copy/pasting and then adding a new event. Would like the complete action to include task/calendar.
Thanks!
