Need a little help with this bootlopp. - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok so I have a mje stock note 3 that is stuck in a loop. I tried kies to stock odin w firmware and pit and still nothing. The phone boot sometimes but shoes only the top bar with the drop down menu and a blank home screen, shortly after it displays an error about something unable to work and reboots again and the loop begins until it deckdes to half ass boot again.
Has anyone encountered such a problem? It happened after I noticed misbehaving of some stock apps that kept crashing and I resorted to stock restore the phone with kies.
Thanks for any and all help.
The knox hasnt been tripped and its sjpposed to be intirely stock.

Have you ever rooted or installed a custom recovery?

so u have tried to download your MJE firmware from samfirmware and flash via ODIN I believe.
Have you tried to go into stock recovery after finish flash from ODIN and to wipe data/factory reset & wipe cache partition ?
I have no idea about verizon N900, but I guess it should be the same. You may not follow my suggestion if you are unsure about this, as I have no idea about this device. Just give an option of suggestion you may try, because on N9005, this wipe / reset sometimes is quite useful to solve bootloop on stock firmware.

Nope stock recovery no root.

I have not tried samfirmwares as they take too long to download, but I will take your advice and post results.

okie.

I just tried your advice Sonic. I flashed N900VVRUBMJE_N900VVZWMJE_N900VVRUBMJE_HOME.tar.md5 from samfirmwares and I used odin 3.09 and still no success.
It now doesn't lag at the verizon logo its a little smoother but it still stays there and then it reboots and the loop continues.
Any other suggestions guys?
Is it safe to repartition with the pit file being flashed as well or will the phone be worse off afterwards?

Did u do factory reset / full wipe?
If u have the correct pit for ur model nd firmware, shld be fine.
Sent from N7105, DN3 with AGNi kernel.

I did a full wipe/ clear cache and then full firmware flash from sammobile then one with pit but still no success.
What did work was using a uart box and the phone in DM to reset the efs and then rewrite the fullflash from sammobile. Now the phone works perfect just has an invalid imei 00/0 but it still works. I am going to extract a QCN from another 900V and edit it with my phone's info tomorrow and write it to see if that fixes the no IMEI and No serial number issue. I will post results afterwards.
Thank you guys for the input.

OK solved with a donor QCN now all is good on this note.
Thanks to all for the assistance.

Stuck in a bootloop

I am having bootloop problem with my galaxy note n7000
I had stock LP8 version of ICS before. I rooted it using cf-root cwm v5.5. I took a nandroid backup of my rom. And then used triangle away app to remove the triangle. It went to special boot mode and resetted my counter.
I tried formatting my phone from clockwork recovery but failed to do so as it seemed to stuck there for long. I switched it on and restarted it went into bootloop showing galaxy note again and again.
I went ahead and flashed LP8 rom via odin. It didnt seemed to help as it was stuck again in bootloop. Tried factory wipe from stock recovery and cache wipe. Still no respite.
I thought rom was buggy and went ahead and flashed gb KK1 rom via odin. But still it didnt helped and i am stuck in the bootloop.
Please help me. Also it shows custom count as 'no' and binary as
'Samsung official'. Does it means I can claim warranty?
Sorry for the long post, but it was my first post and wanted to put all details. Please help me.

pretty sure cf-root v5.6 has the possible fix , 5.5 doesnt , so you have more than likely bricked your phone ( did you read any of the warnings before you started flashing...there are several of them) what is the situation with your phone now , whats showing on the screen? can you go into download mode , also there is an app for checking your emmc condition see if it passes that first http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1709054
Flash stock Gingerbread firmware then factory reset from recovery
DO NOT perform factory reset on stock ICS kernel or CF-Root 5.5
----
If it is not yet superbricked phone won't stuck at flashing firmware.
My phone is still able to go into stock recovery and downloading mode. And flashing via odin, it completes normally and reboots. But then bootloops. About you suggesting emmc phase check, will search abou it. Thanks for advice.

I think i made that mistake before. I was on ICS kernel and cwm 5.5. And i did a factory reset. I never thought it would be a problem. Should have researched more. But please help me. Is there a workaround for this?

If flashing succeeds, then do not worry.
As I said flash stock gingerbread rom then factory reset from recovery.
And use only safe kernels on ICS.
Safe kernels:
CF-Root 5.6 Safe but do not use it to flash roms
Franco kernel R3 and above
SpeedMod kernel
Goku kernel
NoteCore Kernel
DAFUQ kernel

I did flash my regional stock kernel xxkk1 via odin and did factory reset too from stock recovery. But still bootloops. Do i have to flash any of the kernel above seperately? The question might seem stupid, but tell me if i got it right.. 1. Flash stock kernel 2. Factory reset 3. Flash one of the above said kernels

Flash stock gingerbread rom with pc odin.
If it succeeds, boot into recovery (volume up + home key + power button)
then select factory reset.
then reboot.
----
The kernels I mentioned in the previous post are ICS kernels. Do not use those on gingernread.

I am sorry. I really do not know what is wrong.
It does not sound like superbrick though.
Wait till experts help you with this problem, good luck.
I read this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1633943
and have realized that i have bricked my phone.
Because i attempted a factory wipe on unsafe official kernel and recovery cwm 5.5.
It corrupted a drive and is hardbricked.
However is there any workaround? My recovery and downloading mode both are working.
Again summarizing
1. on official kernel rooted with cf-5.5
2. Attempted factory wipe from recovery - stuck and restarting stuck in bootloop
3. Flashed the official ics kernel again - no boot up, went to recovery wiped, still stuck at logo
4. Flashed an old gb official kernel, still stuck at logo.
Is there anything i can do? Or my SGN is as good as dead?

There are threads on getting it working again with the use of pit files and partitioning etc but you may end up with hardly any storage left and might still not be usable.either take it in to Samsung service center or send it in and tell them you had an ota update and it never rebooted or say you did a factory reset as your phone was acting up..Don't tell them any thing about rooting or roms... it was on stock .you get me! They will change your mobo for free then mate

Yes, thanks for the tip mate.
I was planning to do the same and that too today. Also the counter says no and binary as samsung official on the downloading mode. This means they can never know if it was rooted? Am i correct? Just this last question. Thanks for your replies. They were helpful..

No yellow triangle, counter is zero, custom binary says NO, can't boot up => there's no way to check if it was rooted.

I've done something similar to my note, despite flashing stock gb etc through odin (which goes through with no errors etc..) i'm still stuck at the galaxy note startup screen. If i try an ICS stock rom it'll go a little further to the samsung startup logo/jingle and then sits there.
is there nothing that can be done at this point?
my binary count is 4 now so i'm guessing i will have to pay samsung to get it resolved if it is indeed bricked, does anyone know who much this is likely to cost?
also, is there a way of determining for sure if my phone is bricked/caught he emmc bug?.
thanks all in advance, i spent hours and hours trying to get my phone back so i'm pretty deperate now.

that what happen to my note as well .... i did not read carefully and preform the full wipe and superbrick my note and use the same excuse saying OTA update to 4.0 and after it reboot i got my phone brick
samsung refuse to give me warranty on it as in my recovery screen i have a something like a "phone . . yellow exclamation . . monitor" and stated firmware upgrade encountered an issue. please select recover mode in kies & try again "
You had a binary counter and the custom firmware yellow triangle it seems :-(. That explains it, it is an indicator that you flashed unofficial firmware to your phone and voided the warranty

will not boot up

I have an AT&T galaxy s4 that will not boot up. I tried to flash the ROM and install SlimBean 4.2.2 build 6. after it was installed and everything, the screen went black and will not show anything. It wont go into recovery mode and vibrates every 5 seconds whenever i power it on. i tried to flash the stock rom using odin, but that didnt work either. somebody please help!
Can you provide a link to exactly what it was you flashed?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2
i cant post outside links yet, but i used the one off of phone rebel's website. i found the link under "How To Unroot & Unbrick Samsung Galaxy S4 – Return To Stock AT&T, Sprint, T-mobile, Verizon & More!"
Firstly, why would you flash anything off an iOS website? Secondly, I meant a link to what you flashed before it bricked, not after.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2
i didnt think that it was an iOS site. and im sorry, i thought you meant the other one.
this is the one i tried at first: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292474[url]
You have the US att or Canadian?
i have US AT&T
Update: i found the link for the stock rom under http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2261573
attempted to flash it using odin, but nothing has changed.
I'm unable to get into recovery mode or boot up the device. I can only go in to download mode. Any attempt to boot up the device or go in to recovery mode results in a blank screen and small vibrations every 5 seconds.
this all started after i attempted to flash SlimBean on to my US AT&T Galaxy S4.
can somebody please help me? im desperate and need assistance!

If you can go to download mode you can Odin back to stock. There's tons of Odin guides. I can't link because I'm on mobile but I'm sure you can search. As long as you have download mode youre not bricked and all is fine. Just be sure to have latest Samsung drivers installed for your PC.

It sounds like you tried to flash a ROM or Kernel that is not intended for the AT&T S4 and bricked your phone (screwed up your partitions). If so, you might want to look into JTag repair services. There is a PIT file available for the 16GB version of the phone but I wouldn't touch it if you don't know what you are doing.
Odin is working fine, and whenever i try to flash it back to stock, odin says that it passed, everythings good, etc. But then when phone reboots, it just stays at that blank screen and keeps vibrating.
And could you refer me to a guide or something on PIT files or JTAG services, please?
Exactly what he did, looks as if he flashed the incorrect kernel.
Odin is the answer.

pull your battery and wait a few seconds. place the battery back in and immediately press the recovery button combo (vol up + home + power. release just the power button when the device vibrates and you see the blue script in the top left corner).
if this gets you into recovery, wipe data and cache. reboot.
In Odin are you using the phone option or the pda option?
Please make sure you follow the Odin instructions exactly to the T.

in Odin im using the PDA option, just like all of the threads and guides said to do.
and i tried the recovery combo a few times, nothing showed up. it just kept vibrating like before

You guys need to start providing links to exactly what you flashed. How is anyone supposed to know if it really was a "wrong kernel" or if it was a seemingly correct kernel that people should stay away from?
Edit: sorry, not you HeartAttack; I know you did.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2
i did earlier. i tried to flash slimbean on to mine (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292474) which is under the AT&T GS4 section, so i thought it wouldve been compatible. i was obviously wrong.
So this is what happened to me:
I flashed the foxhound rom (link) using CWM, (Wipe data, clear cache, & clear delvik cache. It installed perfectly, but because this is not an AT&T rom, I was having wifi issues.
Rather rewiping the data, clearing all caches and reinstalling the rom and then the ktweaker kernel, I just installed the ktweaker kernel (link) that I got off from galaxys4root.com.
This was my first time using this kernel with this rom. Since it was an AOSP rom I uses this kernel because it was also AOSP.
So now I'm stuck in this cycle where my phone vibrates every 3 seconds on a blank screen. I can enter download mode and I have used odin to flash original stock firmware, but I come back to this same issue every time. As OP mentioned, I am also not able to access CWM recovery after holding down keys to enter recovery.
NOTE: I believe every time the phone vibrates (every 3 seconds), the phone itself is rebooting. Therefore I don't have enough time enter recovery.

Phone stuck at boot - Help needed

hi guys
I have bought this samsung galaxy S4 I-9500, build number I9500XXUAMDK from someone, it was brand new and i rooted it successfully using Adam Kernel and ClockworkMod Recovery.
I didnt use it much, apart from downloading few apps and taking photos. The phone was then out of battery, i charged it fully and i switched it on and since then, stuck on boot (SAMSUNG logo)
I tried few things, among those: wipe cache, wipe data (using CWM) as well as removing battery but nothing helped
I finally followed the guide in this site to unroot the phone but wasn't sure about the country from which the phone was bought (I assumed Germany because it has the same build Germany MBC (May 2013) PDA: I9500XXUAMDK CSC: I9500MBCAMD6 Version 4.2.2)
I used ODIN to unroot and it passed successfully but i am having still the same issue (I also tried the wipe data and reset to factory)
I am running out of solutions and would be grateful if someone can help me or at least guide me to what to do and what i can test or try
many thanks again

but the status is the same and i tried to wipe the cache in recovery but didn't help either
i am really worried now and don't understand why an original firmware cannot sort this issue?
I would really appreciate any suggestions if any
NB: I noticed after wiping the cache partition i get a green android icon with a red triangle (exclamation mark on it); is there some kind of issue with wiping the cache?
Also, in recovery mode i get 2 red lines stating: "failed to mount /sfa (invalid argument)" followed by 4 yellow lines MANUAL MODE,. Applying Multi-CSC, Applied the CSC-code: unknown & successfully applied multi-CSC

yes the same situation
i tried all advices and used 2 different stock firmware in case, still doesn't pass the boot
it's a new phone so i will try to take it to samsung but bit worried they might discover i tried to root it before
ODIN MODE states system status: custom
but if i don't have other choice then i guess i have to take it to them

Restoring to factory on Knox bootloader

I have the i9505. I have inadvertently managed to mess it up efs is intact I just get firmware error when booting. Does anyone know that firmware I can install from sammobile that I will be able to install so it goes back to factory default? Mh8 I've tried and a couple of others in an attempt to get it to work. Also reading up on various sources but it keeps failing and coming up red on Odin. Really frustrating now. Please help!

Stuck on boot, need some help

ok, so I am not a noob on rooting and such, but this one has me stumped. Have the i337 on mdl baseband. Wanted to return it to stock. I tried to Odin (v3.09) the factory tar from the samsung site, i got a failure, then it went to recovery mode saying to connect kies. I have tried kies 2.6 and 3.0, neither recognize the device. I have tried redownloading samsung firmware thinking it was corrupted and mk2 firmwares in odin, neither worked, they go immediately to fail when i try to execute Odin. I can get into download mode or the kies recovery mode, not sure what to do since it will not take odin. Any ideas?

1. Kies and Recovery mode aren't same thing. Kies never will recognize your device being in Stock Recovery Mode. Don't mix things.
2. Find the error now is difficult coz maybe you update your bootloader with the MK2 firmware (that's android 4.3 no android 4.2.2).
3. Get me the errors or one screenshot that appears in ODIN when you try to flash the MK2 firmware pls.
I'll see what I can do, it happens so fast I don't think anything updates, and it shows me no errors, just fail

Maybe Kies was in your task bar when you tried to flash through ODIN?
Not the first but maybe the last ones, what does that do?

1. Try other version of ODIN. I recommend you the latest one -> HERE
2. And pls.... MK2 isn't firmware for your device, it's for i337M. Don't mix things. Flash MDL again if you had that baseband and show me what errors you will have in ODIN. Good luck
Still failed. Let me know what you see. thanks
Bump, anyone see what I is wrong?

Pit file
I see youre trying to flash the mk2 file but you dont have the pit file for the repartition head over here and download the mk2 pit file and then rerun it I also see that you have auto reboot checked, uncheck the auto reboot and then once iit finishes flashing and say reset unpluget you're device and pull the battery then put it back in and go into stock recovery by holding volume up power and home all at the same time and wipe data factory reset and cache partition http://d-h.st/5gz
Thanks, but that did not work either. I have never had a problem I couldn't odin out of, but I have tried everything I can think of and still nothing will work. I just want to sell the phone so I even tried the nb1 which should install no matter what bootloader I am on, and still nothing.
