So I am out far from home (Still domestic, US) without any real access to my personal computer. All I have is a personal laptop with horribly slow gov wifi. I purchased a Samsung S4 SPH L720 for sprint.. I thought since it had a sim card I could unlock the phone but I am having troubles going through the steps from this guide --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2530610 . I have since learned the ESN is locked for CDMA carriers, though luckily my carrier is ATT.. My download for the rooted ROM is ~7hrs. I was curious if this will domestically work with the 4g on ATT and if anyone has the info to input like this:
Name: T-Mobile
APN: epc.tmobile.com or fast.t-mobile.com (for LTE devices)
Proxy:
Port:
Username:
Password:
Server:
MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
MMS proxy:
MMS port:
MMS protocol: WAP 2.0
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
Authentication type:
APN type: default,supl,admin,dun,mms
The OP has it for tmobile but nothing for ATT. Does anyone have any other info on any other guides to get this ATT unlock to work with the L720? I have searched everywhere and have not really come up with anything useful..
On T-Mobile it only gets edge not LTE so I doubt it will get LTE on ATT.

But you can confirm that this will work on ATT domestically?
It should. From what I saw right now by the bands the phone supports the phone should get 3G/HSPA+ on ATT on band 850 and MIGHT get LTE on 1800 band, not 100% sure.

And actually the guides title in fact says that it is also for ATT. This member got his phone unlocked using the thread and got SMS plus HSPA+ on ATT.

Awesome.. also the guide I mentioned about will not pull up the CDMA screen needed to change some items. My phone is on 4.4.2 firmware.. do i need to downgrade firmwares?
For the domestic I believe you do. You may want to contact the member who I just linked you to. And ask him/her any further questions you have or if you run into any problems.

awesome.. glad you linked that. i will give it a try
This can be done on 4.4 stock just downgrade your modem only and follow o.p. and reflash your original modem

I live in an area that had LTE enabled today. I'm trying to use this guide to set up LTE permanently. I'm trying to edit the apns-conf.xml file, but I don't know where I'm suppose to change the APN settings. Where do I edit?
Edit - I just need the APN for T-Mobile LTE if someone could.
Use the search, there's many threads about LTE. I can guarantee you can find it at least once on every page of an LTE thread.

Kind of like the rom in my signature, going to slimbean-dot-net is hugely different than slimroms.net. (though you'd usually think of it by the whole name).
In was ready to switch ROMs anyway and came across an unofficial CM nightlie on here, flashed .33 radio and rom had the lines baked in, apn's ready and tethering fix also....been running it here in philly for over a week so far flawlessly, so if your not getting lte has to he something wrong in your process. This is the ROM

the APN gave me hell
make sure you make a NEW APN, otherwise it wont work
new AT&T straight talk APN is this
name: StraightTalk
apn: tfdata
proxy
port
username
password
server
mmsc: http://mms-tf.net
mms proxy: mms3.tracfone.com
mms port:80
mcc:310
mnc:410
the rest leave unaltered.
thats it!
Please fix title as it is stated for AT&T

I have an i337m from fido in canada.
I travel to the US frequently and use an AT&T Sim when in the US. I have unlocked my device and bought it specifically for the ability to use LTE in Canada and the US but my unlocked i337m won't connect to LTE on AT&Ts network. Im guessing there's there's some block in the firmware preventing it from connecting when on ATTs network? Would the answer be to load ATT firmware or radio files onto my i337m?
Any advice appericiated.
Have you checked the apn?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using xda app-developers app
Thanks I will check the APN.
I assumed that my att Sim would automatically set the APN but maybe not since my device doesn't have att firmware.
I will try setting up the att APN info and see if that resolves my issue.

Try to find the correct apn settings for at&t. The rep lied to you or has no clue.
You can try calling them again and not mention the word "unlocked". Carriers don't like that word

In OP you said you had the international unlocked version. Which one do you actually possess?
the i9505 will not connect with american LTE bands. you can only get 3g on AT&T (850 mhz) and on T-mobile (1900mhz if you're in a refarmed area).
Americans get LTE on 700 and 1700 iirc.
Most other countries will get it on 800/850/900/1800/2100/2600.
Thanks[

Hi everyone,
I've got the X727 version from their US store and I've been using it on Bell Mobility in Canada for the past few weeks and it worked fine. I am able to get on LTE/4G. However, today I switched to Fido today and now I cannot get LTE/4G signal. I am stuck on 3G/H+.
Does anyone know why? To my understanding the X727 US version supports LTE Bands 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/17/29/30/38 and Fido and Bell basically have the exact same band/frequency when it comes to LTE.

Many thanks in advance!

I should. I am current getting 3G on "internet.fido.ca"
I am not getting any data on "Fido-core-appl1.apn"
wrong apn
you should use their LTE apn - ltemobile.apn
The two you mentioned are not LTE.

So I set it up and I am still getting 3G. Are you on Rogers7Fido LTE?
I'm using ltemobile.apn on Rogers in NCR and get 4G/LTE almost all the time...

I am also on fido and get LTE. I'm sure its your APN settings.
Try to use 4g in another phone. If it isn't working, let's contact with your cellular telephone service provider...
