What APP to contactless payments with your phone?? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Im looking for the app to use visa paywave, or if not then any other app or system that allows payments with your phone.

Why? The app is actually pretty nonevasive. I've gotten some nice free games and apps off there.

Do you need a credit card to activate the $15 Google credit

Hey!
How do I buy something with googles $15 credit ?
I go to buy something and it only gives me an option for credit cards.
How do I pay for it with my Google credit that came with the device ?

Do you mean the $25 credit you get when you buy the tablet? If so then:
a) no.. I don't think you have to have a card to use the credit but it will be tied to whatever account you use to log in on the tablet first.
b) you can use this credit while in the play store (from your device) when you select and app an window pops up and you can select your payment method there. You should see an option for "Google Play balance". Select it and voila.
There's no redeem button ;(
I love in the UK and apparently you can't get gift cards in the UK. What doing do if anything?
Thanks !

If you have an Android device already, you will have a Play account and the credit will be added to that. If you don't have a Play account you will need to create one when you set up your device, you need a CC to do that so you can buy apps etc. Once you've set up your Google account the credit will appear on it and you'll be able to buy apps to the value of £15 before anything is charged to your card.
They have been a bit clever with it mind you, cannot carry a balance over, so when you have £2.74 left you can't buy something for £4.99 and pay the difference.
I have the £15 credit and I live in the UK

Im signed in on it and its the first account on there.
When I press buy on a app it shows up only one option which is Google wallet.
Google:
For a limited time, customers who purchase a Nexus 7 may be eligible to receive a $25 Google Play credit. This is our gift to you when you have, or add, a valid form of payment to your Google Wallet account.
Guess Il have to add a card.
The free $25/£15 Google Play credit is automatically added to your Google account once you sign in for the first time when you set the device up, regardless of whether or not you had a card on the account before.
Oh... I wonder why my credit isnt showing up. There is no other option but to pay for an app with Google wallet.

[Q] NFC- UK uses?

Are there any places where you can pay with NFC through your phone, and are there any apps that do this? I heard that macdonalds have NFC pay points, how would you go about using these?
App for NFC should be part of your banking apps from your bank, if your bank supports NFC as you need to set up an account associated with the NFC which moneys are with drawn from.
I believe there are a few thrid party apps out, unless the thrid party app allows you to prepay, I would recommend staying away from unless you are comfortable linking a bank account to the app so funds could be withdrawn.
not at the moment i think

[Q] Isis or Google Wallet on Note 3?

I know this is *way* too early to get any real responses, but I wanted to throw this out anyway and keep it in the back of peoples' minds:
Do we know anything about this phone's support for Isis or Google Wallet (NFC tap-to-pay, not just the universal app)? Seeing as it's a Verizon flagship phone, it seems like it should at least support Isis, but I haven't been able to find any info at all.
Anyone have an inside lead?
Verizon threw all of their support behind Isis so that they can sell the tech to business. Don't expect google wallet wout root.

From my understanding Wallet is now a universal app, regardless of phone/carrier. Having said that, the NFC capabilities of the app might get blocked by verizon... but it's somewhat doubtful. It's like VZW trying to block PayPal from their appstore.

See, that's what I thought: now that Wallet is a universal app, the NFC tap-to-pay features should just work. However, I went to a T-Mobile store with a demo Note 3 and installed Wallet just to check, and the tap-to-pay feature wasn't accessible. It didn't even give me the option to add a card. It seems likely that the Verizon version will behave similarly.
Interestingly, though, I was able to download Isis on the demo unit. I wasn't able to activate it, seeing as it didn't have the proper SE-enabled SIM card, but it seems to suggest that the Verizon version will also support Isis, even though their website doesn't list it as an Isis-ready phone.
Do we even know if the Note 3 has an embedded Secure Element? Given Samsung's track record, I've got to believe that it does, but I haven't found any info at all.

Never put anything past verizon. The ability to custom rom a phone is a universal google thing, but verizon blocks the bootloader...
So, after poking around the other GN3 forums, I found this on the T-Mobile forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2466990&page=4
Looks like the Note 3 *does* have all the hardware required to run Google Wallet, there are just carrier cripples in place to prevent us from using it. What else is new? Anyway, seems hopeful that we might get it, once we get root and can modify the build.prop and the nfcee_access.xml files. And as we all know, Wallet is vastly preferable to Isis.
According to VZW support the phones will come equipped with nfc sim cards.. which directly indicate that ISIS will be implemented on the sim itself...
As it is currently with Verizon, Isis uses the secure element in the nfc sim, not on the phone. Google wallet, bump an pay is not enabled at least for. Verizon phones...

I just installed Google Wallet and installed with no problems. I haven't tried it yet though. I'll report back when I get to use it.

Well...I'll answer my own question:
ISIS definitely works. Paid for a Jamba Juice with it this afternoon. It's a piece of crap app, but it works
Google Wallet downloads, but does not include the tap-to-pay feature by default.
I'd still like to see if Wallet could get ported to the Note 3. Maybe use the Sprint version? It's just so much better than ISIS...
Yes isis installs and accesses the secure element that big V said they won't allow! Funny isis is allowed to access the secure element but Google wallet isn't allowed. Finally I think there can be something done cause now they are doing the exact same thing Google wallet does but now can be proven they are blocking it.

That may be your problem then. You might be able to activate the factory SIM online or you might have to call VZW to do it. These SIM cards have the secure element inside of them.

Hey anyone able to download the latest Nov 14, 2013 version of the Verizon ISIS mobile wallet app? I have some side loaded version of ISIS and it works just fine! But why is the note 3 Verizon model NOT SUPPORTED? This is just a stigma associated with android devices, no one has an answer for anything!
I have the SE SIM installed, and the isis app < 2.0 version does work just fine. I don't care about the 1star reviews complaining about how google wallet is not supported, I don't care about that - I just would like to know anyone able to side load an AT&T isis wallet app in the verizon note 3?
is google wallet working with Verizon Note 3?
Last i checked on Google Wallet on this forum, they mentioned its still not working on Verizon Note 3.

Tap and pay now working on the Xperia Z1

So I've had google wallet for a while now. However after switching from my nexus to the Xperia Z1 last year, Ive been unable to tap and pay using the Google wallet app. They've only allowed me to send money or to see the status of my wallet account which was disappointing.
Today however I got a prompt from my wallet app asking if I wanted yo set up tap and pay o_0. It looks like after having updated to 4.4.2 it's now possible to use this feature... Anyways, thought you guys should know. It's cool to finally have this available.

Where are the google wallet settings or app?
That screen shot is the Google wallet app. At the bottom of the screen shot you can see that it says this device is ready for tap and pay purchases.
What other settings did you want to see?

Just that I cant find google wallet app on the play store, its incompatible with my device.
Can you post the apk and I will see if it works anyway

I just want to try the app see what happens from the UK
That is the issue then. I'm not sure this feature is available outside the United states. Would need to dig into that. Because the app itself should appear on the store. The fact that it doesn't foe you over there and it does for me here has me thinking.... But you don't need my apk, just download a copy of it here ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-nexus/themes-apps/app-google-wallet-2-0-r133-v9-t2122313) hope that helps

It works for me. Used it in wall mart, riteaid, McDonald's and hertz. There is a setting now in the general area called tap and pay. Make sure you have google wallet set as your default paying app.

"In what countries is Google Wallet available?
In the United States, you can use Google Wallet to shop in stores, send money, and to make online purchases on Google Play or other online merchants. Outside of the United States, you can use Google Wallet online to make purchases on Google Play in over 125 countries, and at online merchants in over 160 countries and territories."
Only will work in the U.S if you want to tap and pay..

I'm in NY as well. I have the international c6902 and it works for me. Of course this assumes that you
1- have Google wallet installed
2-that you set the app with your credit card
3- that you have nfc enabled.
If your answer is yes yo all three of these then I don't know what could be interfering with the process. Unless of course the places you've tried didn't have the terminal's tap and pay enabled.
