Hey, I debloated @_alexndr ROM by myself and now after a few days I realize one thing:
I can't use this handy little feature to press on the S-Pen and cut out what's interesting for me, so I can
share it.
Basically what is working:
The cutting out animation is working BUT the window with all the options to customize and share is missing.
I think there's a system App I deleted which is supposed to deal with this.

I assumed that my description wouldn't be the best
okay, so just follow:
- take out your S-Pen
- press the button on the S-Pen and hold it
- draw a circle on your homescreen
Now the part, that woun't come up on my device:
- a window opens up
- you can adjust the little cut out you just made
- share it with the apps below on the screen

That's exactly what I was talking about !
Is there any way to make a txt file by the device itself, so you don't have to type out all the apk's ?
Or can you just make a few screenshots of your system/app & system/pirv-app folder ?
As an alternative you could make a screenrecord and put it on youtube (or whatever).

Completely forgot i can just list them in terminal. I probably havent uploaded them in the right order. But here you go, also i have renamed some of them. But its fairly easy to guess what they where before. Got some extra apps in there too. Like the video editor, sketchbook, city maps. Just for an example.
Hope this helps!

Well, here I am again.
Unfortunaly I can't figure out what app or apps are missing on my device.
With the pictures given me by @celderic I compared my apps with his.
There were a few apps which I was missing which I put back to system/app or system/priv-app.
Sadly no changes !
So I checked all apps which I would combine with this feature and opened up the apk's to search for evidence.
As far as I can tell, PhotoRetouching_FHD_H.apk is responsible for what I'm looking for.
Funny thing is, I had this all the time on my phone so why does it not work ?
I can't tell and I can't think of anything I can do more, so basically this is a dead end unless someone wants to help out.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, or if it's been asked before [if it has I haven't found it!], but I was wondering if there was a way I could add either more columns or more rows to my applications screen? Is there an app that can do this for me?
Thanks in advance.

Try http://www.appbrain.com/app/launcherpro/com.fede.launcher
I installed it and the program doesn't actually come up in my Applications, am I doing something wrong? I got it from the Market.
Install home switcher too then. Run that program and then choose to run launcherpro. Its a different home. Meaning you will have to configure everything on your home screen from new on. But just try it . Your old home will be still there and with the home switcher you can choose wha tyou want to run. Oh and to configure it press in the home menu button and then preferences and play with it a little.
Launcherpro will not appear in the applications list. Use the Home button and hold it until you get a pop-up menu where you can select between sence and lanucherpro.

Thanks for the swift reply - before I actually read them I was fiddling about and figured out what I need to have done, thank you both. However I was looking for something with a more stock look per-se, with the option to actually being able to add more columns and rows into the Application Drawer, not the live Home screen.
Not sure if I'm making any sense? Sorry, I'm fairly new at all this!

What I'm trying to achieve is to have more icons down on the dock [in that applications view and the live home screen], and to add another column so there's not 4 but 5...
Thanks for the fast reply!
Hehe that I understood and you can do it with launcher pro 5 columns in app drawer and it can have even an 3D effect .
I mean the stock look , you mean the touchwiz look or vanilla look?
Which ever came with the phone - don't know the name sorry!
Is there any possibility to organize apps into folders in the menu and not only on the homescrees? Having 300+ apps can really be a pain in the ass when searching for a particular one, not to mention it would be great to have apps organized by type, e.g., games, system, social.
Dunno what adw launcher does , but there are apps on the market who can help you with organizing. I never did cuz it never made any sense to me. Too much work and I wont use it anyway. Boss was very proud of his organization of the apps and it took him always longer to find the app he needed in the folders....
So check out http://www.appbrain.com/search?q=organize+apps
I was trying to add the maps app to my mult-itasking bar and couldn't seem to find a way to do it. On watching a couple of YouTube videos I see there appears to be an edit button at the bottom of the bar on those notes which doesn't appear on mine.
Am I being really dense on not being able to see how to access this button?

the edit button only appears when you have too many apps for that bar.
Samsung have made a list of what apps can be used in this mode, maps is not one of them.
A hack is being worked on to allow all apps to be used in this mode, please see the sticky thread.
It was because I saw maps on the list of apps in that thread that I was trying to add it. Never mind, just a minor thing. I'm just curious that, if the edit button only appears when there are too many apps on the multi-tasking bar, how do you actually add or remove apps when it isn't there? Or do apps that can be use this facility (on unrooted phones) automatically add themselves there?
Thanks for your help.

ah actually good point, maps is one of the apps.
Are you sure you have maps installed?
Yep, have maps installed.
Maps should then default to being one of the items in the side-bar
Yes the maps is there, and also it looks like there are omly 12 applications supported as of yet,you can remove or move them back when you hit the Edit button and drag any of them to the right lane or back to the left.
Must be a glitch on my phone then. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling the maps app to see if it would make a difference but no luck. Any ideas gratefully received.

back on-topic...
maps definitely is not there, weird.
I take it you have not modified the firmware at all? on a completely stock rom?
Maps is installed as a /system/ app you see, and it is that specific package name that is allowed for multi-tasking, if for some reason you don't have it installed as a /system/ app there is a slim chance its under a slightly different package name and multi-view just won't see it.
Edit:
can you post me a screenshot of the page displayed when you go *#1234# in the dialer.
Here you go.
Maps is here, and *#1234# results
Interesting Lofty, your actually on quite old firmware (well older than most of us with split-screen ability).
Where did you get the phone?
Vodafone upgrade. Maybe it has something to do with all the crap they stick on the phone.

It would be very easy, if you wanted, to unbrand that device and put the latest UK unbranded firmware on it but at the risk of voiding your warranty (although tbh it shouldn't).
If you are interested in this just PM me and I will give you the simple instructions.

Did you know that you can create shortcut icons in the Multi Window panel that will automatically open paired windows of your choice?
If you didn't here's how.
Open the Multi Window panel on the left side of the screen, then open two apps that you use together. Now with both apps on your screen open the Multi Window panel again and look for the up arrow at the bottom of this panel and touch it. A little menu will open, select create. A box will then appear that let's you give it a custom name if you like.
More tips will follow and if you have a tip please feel free to add one.

You have to root it and install Wanam Xposed. That has a setting that lets you pick what apps you want to make available for multi-window.
Multiwindow Plus and Pen Window Manager will also do it, you have to be rooted for both though.
Xposed is easier, free and does lots of other awesome things

Really hoping someone finds a way to get rid of that sht.
Deleting 'S Finder', "Quick connect', and 'Quick Connect Interaction Service' leaves the 'S Finder' button doing nothing, though you can still click it, and the 'Quick Connect' button disabled (after a reboot). They're still occupying the same space.
As I posted in this topic's threat in the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 5 area:
This is annoying me as well. I think those not yet able to craft their own ROMs (like me), are gonna need to wait. If you're feeling adventurous, you maybe try installing [ROM][G900F][4.4.2]-AllianceROM-OTA Nightlies (the F and T models are similar I believe) and providing the developers with feedback.
There's also the possibility that [APPS][4.1+] Google Experience Launcher (GEL App + Google Search App) will work, as described by the article How to get the Google Experience Launcher on the Galaxy S5 which I found via this post (go thank him if it works).
would be great if xposed modual came out for this there very annoying

I'm looking for an application that allows force-closing running applications, as its running down the memory and making the performance slow down. I'm not a huge fan of slowdowns, if anyone know of such a app, please type in it the comments below.
Thanks!
..
Thanks you for providing me this download link. I will try this out when I get home tonight, looking forward to seeing it work. Why don't you submit it to the Google Play Store?
..
id be willing to try this when i get home as well. what app did you modify exactly? id like to look into it on the play store before i get home and install yours on my shield.
..
Hey man so i got to play with this a little bit last night. Thanks so much! It will definitely help when im testing out new apps and troubleshooting issues. But to be honest, using the app last night made me realize something......
The shield is pretty damn good at managing ram on its own. With no easy way to force close apps prior to the app you provided, I just let shield take care of it, assuming all my running apps that i didnt force close on my own, were using up all my free ram available. But last night when using your app, each time i tried to "kill all" i only got a meager 100-200MB free, at best. Even with all the apps running, i still had like over 1gig, usually 1.5, available. its awesome.
But yeah, still keeping this app for messing with stuff. Thanks.
Awesome, I'll give it a try too. It always annoys the hell out of me that I have to go into settings then apps then go through all my installed apps just to kill a frozen app. It would be awesome if someone could implement the "hold back to kill app" that is in most ROMs.
