[Q] Rooted & unlocked i337 asking to insert sim - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Hoping someone can help me figure this out.Created a new topic because it seems a bit different from the other "no sim" topic.
I have an i337 on MF3 that was rooted and unlocked using jortex's method and chainfire's region unlock.

I used it on Tmobile's network for about 16hrs without problem, then it suddenly started showing emergency calls only and asking to insert sim. I've place the tmobile sim in another phone and it worked fine, also put an unactivated AT&T sim in the S4 and it sees it. The phone is still booting up with the samsung custom screen. Any ideas on how to fix?
Thanks in advance.

sgh-i437 rooted and running cm-10.2-20130925-UNOFFICIAL-expressatt-still locked

I have a Samsung SGH-i437 that was a contract phone from AT&T. I wanted to unlock it for use over seas, so I rooted the phone and installed CyanogenMod cm-10.2-20130925-UNOFFICIAL-expressatt but the phone still has a carrier lock on it. I now have a unlock code but can not get the prompt by using #7465625*638*CODE# because it give me a no network message. When I insert a different sim it does not recognize it. It only has the icon for the sim with a ? make on it.
Any help would be appreciated!

Cant use Net10 SIM with new firmware.

I used Odin to flash a NC2 firmware. I found the firmware in the thread will the leaked KK files. After flashing that firmware ive been unable to connect to Net 10 service with either a ATT or Tmobile SIM card. If i put the Verizon SIM in, i almost immediately see 3G is available. I flashed a second (updated) firmware, and i still have this issue.
Is this a known issue? Anyone else have this issue? Im using BigginsROM cause flashing Hyperdrive causes a black screen when booting. I presume its cause HyperDrive isnt on NC2/NC4 yet. I hope this isnt permanent cause itd defeat the entire purpose of spending $900+ on the phone and accesories.
Any info/help would be greatly appreciated. If ive merely derped something feel free to let me know.
First this firmware: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2528707
Then this firmware: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2787627
I installed a SIM card info app. The app says that the phone is network locked to Verizon. The phone number that is showed is associated with the Net 10 AT&T SIM. Still says network locked and SIM operator is Verizon.
While further researching the issue i found that the servce menu reports "Network: UNBLOCK." The conclusion is that that means the phone is SIM locked. How in the world would i have managed to lock my phone?
While even further researching the issue i found that it might be the NC4 ROM that i flashed when i was having problems getting the KK leak to boot.
Edit.

[Q] Network locked sim card inserted

Hello, I recently purchased a supposedly unlocked note 3 N900W8 variant however when I put in my rogers sim card I get the message "Network Locked Sim Card Inserted" and it prompts me to enter a code. I read through a couple of threads and have some questions.
1. Some people fixed this by buying an unlock code but I don't see why I need to do this if my phone is already unlocked? Or is my phone not really unlocked
2. I saw the tool Region Away and was debating on whether to root my phone and try it but some people said that the phone will get messed up since the canadian variant is already region unlocked?
How can I use the phone with my sim?
Thanks for the help

[Q] Unlocked, MMS#3 on AT&T help

I have a galaxy S5 on AT&T that I'm trying to use a straight talk sim in. (Att towers) whenever a sim is inserted into the phone I get "Sim not allowed mm#3". I used a reputable service (cell unlocker) to unlock the device. The IMEI comes up clean as well. I've also changed the APN settings, but it won't connect. I'm trying to port from a galaxy s3.
I would also like to quickly add that the t mobile straight talk sim works just fine, but using that is not an option as the service is atrocious.
Another thing, the ATT sim works in a galaxy S4 with no issues. They are both sims for straight talk. Any help is really appreciated, this is baffling me.
Just went into the service menu with *#0011# and in the debug menu i can't actually see a MM reject cause. CARD_ERROR: Unknown and PERSO_FEATURE: UNSUPPORTED are the only relevent info i see here. The phone has been unlocked, is there a way to flash the service menu with ODIN and reset it all to stock? I know this won't lose the unlock, so in the off chance that I did accidentally click on something in there before will the tar.md5 file fix this? I read a post where user sanquante said he had to flash the PDA.MD5 file and it fixed it...I'm assuming he meant the tar.md5? Thanks for ANYONE willing to help. I really could use it.
bump...

[Q] [Issue] Stuck in a weird situation of trying unlock i337m

Before you judge me by saying how i'm posting something thats done before, it hasn't, I've searched everywhere no methods work
Please, someone help me I've been at this for 4 days now and maybe just 15 hours of sleep :crying:.
The phone I have right now is the SGH-i337m Galaxy s4 running NC1 with MDJ modem (Kitkat 4.4.2) Does not detect sim, it says "No sim available".
I'm not exactly sure if the phone is from Bell but the phone use to be running fine on my old rogers sim card until I updated to their new ShareTap Sim.
With the ShareTap Sim the phone doesn't detect my sim anymore. So I tried my Share Tap Sim in another unlocked phone (Galaxy note 3) it worked fine.
Then I tried a Virgin mobile sim card on the S4 and it detected it and worked fine also. So then I tried to unlock it by flashing it with many different methods:
1. I tried flashing a older version of Bell 4.2.2 but it bricked my phone ( I already unbricked it back to 4.4.2)
2. I tried flashing the MDJ modem but it doesn't show the hidden menu.
3. I tried flashing ATT modem to try it but that also bricked my phone.
4. I tried to use the AWS tutorial shown here
5. I tried the regionlock away tutorial here in the third method (RegionlockAway doesnt do anything to my phone)
6. I pulled the modem.bin from the TAR file from sammobile of Bell's 4.2.2. But it still doesn't show the hidden menu! It's the MDJ modem but it still doesn't work!
I'm not sure whats wrong with my phone. When I put the Virgin mobile sim card in there it only shows Telus, EXT and Virgin Sim networks available not the whole spectrum which is what is supposed to happen with the 337_aws.qcn file from the AWS tutorial. Then when I flash MDJ modem from bell or the one from this dropbox link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/2m3id2cx4l...37MVLUAMDJ.zip
It still doesn't show my secret menu.
The secret menu I'm trying to access is the *#0011# but if that didn't work I also tried the *#9090# It still doesn't show the secret menu. So what do I do now? Please Help!
Thanks for reading!
Sorry to hear that, but you are in the same situation i was, the phone was probably sim-unlocked by Box Software, like Octopus or Z3X Boxes as i did, the phone won't recognize some sim cards by unknown reasons, there is no fix avaliable for this as i changed imei, tried different NVM from other phone & even replacing sim card reader. i finally sold it & got myself a i337m unlocked via code.
Edit:
forgot to mention, My SIM stopped being recognized when i upgraded it to a newer LTE version
Kind regards.
Have you tried stock NC1 with the included modem? If the device is unlocked, you might have better success with SIM recognition. In my case, my device was not unlocked, so I Odin flashed stock Telus MDJ, then rooted with CF-Auto-Root, unlocked with RegionlockAway (KNOX tripped), and applied the AWS Mod.
Then I flashed stock NC1 with the incl. modem (root gone), and managed to get Rogers LTE and Wind H+ on the Telus device. From there, I OTA updated, and rooted with CF-Auto-Root, flashed TWRP, and worked my way to 5.0.1. Trust me I know how frustrating this can be, but thanks to this forum, there was a solution. Here's what worked for me (link). Good luck.
