[Q] How do I modify QCN files? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Hello I've been trying very hard to change an imei in a QCN file of an S4. I've seen that the later versions of qpst doesn't support editing as they say but I've also tried EFS Professional but no luck. I used nspro to write the same imei as back of the phones to unlock the phones and flash a qcn file with qpst but it changes the imei and I don't want that as it's supposed to be the imei of back of the phone always. Hope I get help, I've been trying this for weeks and googled too much that I couldn't figure out and wouldn't work at all. Thanks for reading!

Send it back to LG for repair. messing with the IMEI is illegal (short of backing up and restoring) and as such banned from the site.

I never heard of someone losing their imei while switching custom roms. I don't think it's even possible.
What happens when you go back to gearCM?

GSM dead :/ tried almost everything, please help

Hey guys, im writing because i tried almost everything and nothing helped me to revive my gsm signal... i can get only 3G/4G in the city but i cant connect to 2G. It started i flashed MM dump using adb https://mega.nz/#!jMphmZjK!sfoFLx1Jm5NXvdcpJD9Ua1nVfj-J9KWc3K16JvNDFS8
i think its in modemst1.bin and modemst2.bin since i they are not in any other firmware file. My IMEI changed a bit and when i use CDMA workshop it says GSM OxDEAD. I have read also that im not the only one having this issues. I tried to change my IMEI using QCN backup, NV editor. I did NV Rebuild using service menu. I tried also to restore my EFS which i backed up sooner but it didnt help me ( for info i backed it up in cwm and i have efsxxxx.img 14MB and efs.ext4.tar 136kB files). I tried flashing Cyanogenmod, DevBase, Stock lollipop. Nothing helped. Could anyone help me or have any advice? Im desperate. Thanks
I solved it somehow. I dont understand it at all but i downloaded this files https://www.dropbox.com/s/6w6gwrcuv5unlxq/G900f.rar?dl=0 recovered qcn through qpst and its working after restart I hope somebody will find this helpful (those who flashed modemst1.bin and modemst2.bin from MM dump)

Hi. I think you'll get more help if you ask your question in A-Series 2017 forum. There you'll also find TWRP and root for A520.
The files you refer to is probably the nv_data.bin in /efs. I've read it should be possible to restore imei somehow by using hex-editor but I have no experience in that. I also know some older models had a "hidden" menu where you could perform a NV restore but I don't know if it's possible on newer devices.
Anyway, I wish you best of luck to restore your IMEI and hope you'll find someone who can help you more.
