[Q] What modem to use?

Hello Guys,
I live in the Netherlands and I bought a new S4 so I flashed Omega rom on it (stock version) but before I did i made sure I wrote down the baseband version I had: UAME2
Is it safe to just flash the modem back? and i'm using 3minit frame work will it be affected by it?
Any help appreciated

If the current modem can't achieve good signal strength than the UAME2 modem then revert back

I'm from Holland too and you should be fine with the modem you have. There is no need to change it as long as you have good reception and so on everywhere. 3minit framework won't affect your modem in any way. Also the only way we can flash a modem is using Odin.

II have flashed rom on my 9505 and after that i can only have 2G, when switching on 3G i loose signal and can do nothing.
Does anyone have something similiar ?

Update your modem to a 4.4.2 compatible one such as NA1 or NA5......

Could You help me with that- from where i can get those Modems ? Na1 or NA5 - im not very familiar with shortcuts -
I got my phone in Polish - Orange provider.
Do i need flash bootloader too ? I have flashed CWM on Original Android 4.2.2 then updated to This ROM

I do not have Mobile Data after installing custom rom

Hello Guys, I have a Galaxy s4 9505 my problem is that I tried the following Roms :Echoe v17, Omega v24, FoxHound, CarHDRom . For some reason neither the wifi nor the mobile data worked. on the other hand i tried Android Open Kang Project, SlimKat Weekly 3.6 and both of them work very good both wifi and mobile data. (i wrote all the information above thinking it might help diagnosing the problem)
now i flashed I9505 XXUFNB8 4.4.2><27/02/14><Pre-Rooted STOCK ROM's> , and i have only wifi but no mobile data, i tried changing the mobile data settings manually but it still did not work
Recovery Philz
Baseband: i9505VJUFNB8
KERNAL 3.4.0-TALEXOP-2.0
BUILD NUMBER KOT49H.I9505XXUFNB8

I have the same problem.
Mobile data works but will not connect to 3g

For a TouchWiz based custom ROM ( Echoe V17) flash this kernel in recovery:

NOTE: if your phone is Knox free (old bootloader) flash only the modem file, not the non-hlos.bin.

Goto settings/options/device info. What shows the baseband? And what ROM are you using? The baseband should be the same as the ROMbase. So if you are on a NB9 based ROM, you need to flash a NB9 baseband (modem)

Download the modem you need. Then follow my guide to flash modems in Odin EXACTLY. it will change your baseband:good:

i followed your instruction and now The network works only when i set the network mode to WCDMA/GSM but when i set it to LTE/WCDMA/GSM IT does not work :crying:

where can i find these modems?

Its the APN settings. Google your phone operators name and APN. Entre the APN info in your phone in mobile data settings. Works every time

about omega rom updade

hi guys i have s4 9505 with omega rom v21.1 and if i want to update to v28 should i instal first bloatware and modem which are written in instal guide for v28 tnx

You can just flash the latest omega rom mate and make sure your doing a fullwipe so you wont get any problem later. And dont forget to make a backup first incase something will happen. About the modem , if your not having any problem with signal issue after flashing the v2x then no need to flash any modem. And Feel free to check sammobile for the modem you need that base from your country/provider and download the modem/lte from here and flash it via odin .

in the checking site are 4 ways, 3 are the mobile operators and one is BLG for my country Bulgaria and when i checked all 4 at the end are not XXUFNA5 like is in my phone now so what to do and which should i choose or do i need to change my, soon ill go in another country will this make problem with the modem if i get now this for my country tnx

Best thing you can do is stay on Fn5 modem then flash the latest version of Omega rom , If your having any Dropping signal issue then flash the modem base from your Provider , But feel free to flash the FNC4 modem since that's the latest one for your Country !

and i have done it like that just flashed the 28v rom in cwm and nothing more for now i dont have any problem with my old modem tnx

Signal problems

I've had the i9505 for more than a year now, within the week of buying it I installed wanamlite rom with no problems, maybe a little weak on the signal, but nothing major, but a couple of days ago y wanted to try the latest one from wanamlite, but after installing it the signal was horrible, no signal for the most part, I read it could be the modem or something, so I changed the rom to goldeneye, now I have signal but no internet (I have 3g), does someone know what could be the problem and how to solve it?
I have a GT-I9505 4.4.2
baseband I9505VJUAMDE
kernl imperium 1.8

the modem you have is kind of old try a different one to see if your signal improves ( no need to change the rom) , check this thread

Odin flashable NON-HLOS.bin (called WiFi FIX) for Samsung Galaxy S4 - GT-I9505
Use it with care!!!
Open in Odin as PHONE!!

well all that depends in what bootloader you have , if you were 4.4.2 before you installed wanamlite you could flash any of the newer ones or
update all modem / bootloader as your knox has been tripped already

I installed wanamlite first on factory firmware, and then I havent had original ever, no knox firmwares all the time.
This is the modem from sammobile MODEM: I9505VJUFNC2
