Please HELP ME to root and to install ROM with all procedure
thank you
just flash the flashable supersu zip file with your costum recovery.
Don't bother rooting. Flash custom recovery and install the ROM via that recovery. You don't need root for that process.

As mentioned before, if you want to install a custom ROM you don't precisely need to root for this process.
First flash a custom recovery, instructions:
Basically download TWRP or CWM Recovery for Galaxy Note 3 and flash it with Odin
Copy the ROM into your external SD Card
Then boot into recovery (Volume up + Power+ Home)
First Perform a full backup (search "how to do twrp/cwm nandroid backup")
Wipe dalvik cache and data
Then Select "Install zip from SD Card" and select the ROM
Wait for reboot and it should be done

hi
I bought a secondhand galaxy S5. A have been trying to upgrade it to lollipop 5.0 but I have encounter all the possible problems you can. I start with the phones background (i am a new user so i cant post any images) because I am suspecting the first owner did root/update it with the wrong firmware(explain later). the phone is working fine except for the play store that is not working at all. so I just want a clean stock installation and after that I may root it later.
Phone info on the back of the phone when retiring the battery:

From what I understand my phone is a G900F, what i don't understand is why the first owner installed the G900TUVU1ANCH version. I want to put everything as it is supposed to be and also upgrade to 5.0 by doing it. But when trying to flash the stock firmwire i am stuck facing problems....
When trying to flash with odin (using the only the PDA, auto reboot and f.reset time check-boxes) i get the following error:

It's very clear, the previous owner has flashed 3 custom rom's on the device( knox 0x1(3) )and apparently the wrong one and i think that's the reason he sold it.
I think you need the right PIT file, you can google it or ask here for it.
BTW i'm Dutch too from Belgium.

Just a question, are you using a windows or a mac computer. Because sometimes stuff doesn't work when using a mac platform.

I have never had to flash a pit file, but reading the instructions, it says you need to be rooted and have busybox installed. If your status is official you aren't rooted.
QUOTE from posted thread
Here i will show you how to extract the pit file manually with a simple way using terminal emulator or adb shell command.
your phone must have a proper root access, with busybox installed (preferred).
Even better, why not post your question at the high lighted thread, including all you phone info and request the proper pit file.

How can i bypass this secure check?? maybe this is the problem?
Any ideas??? I appreciate all your help guys even if what we tried haven't solve the problem
*#06#
Enter *#06# in dialpad to check if the IMEI of your mainboard match with IMEI numbers printed in the back... maybe your mainboard was replaced with G900T's mainboard.
i just did what you said.... the imei are the same except for the last two digits after the slash....
the emei on the sticker ends with: ........56401/03
when using the *#06# code: ......56401/10
is this normal? of is this going to be the explanation to the problem??
also when i use *#1234# i get this:
AP: G900FZHU1AND1
CP: G900TUVU1CNK2
CSC: G900FZZH1AND1
so i think the CP doesn't match with my phone model right?
I also tried to do a firmware upgrade and initialization with ODIN 3 by putting my phone model and s/n and i get this message:
So I downloaded this firmware apparently for Hong Kong at sammobile. I tried to flash it with ODIN but... i still have the same problem i am unable to flash anything to the phone. the only thing i have manage to flash until now is PhilZ Touch 6.59.0 and this firmware which is FULL of bloatware:

If you have a custom recovery. Try to install a custom ROM like omega... It will flash new baseband, AP, kernel and csc... Backup current ROM first.

Download the ROM pakage (ZIP file) and don't extract... Copy the zip file to the root of External SDcard... Enter recovery mode, choose "install zip from External sdcard", browse the zip file, final choose install. Done! You should choose "wipe data/factory reset" in recovery to make sure the new ROM clean and not face any compatibility problem between old and new ROM.
Thank you very much!! Last question. Can i flash a european stock rom this way without any problems also? or does it only work with custom roms?
I have been trying to root my note 3 SM-N900 for several hours today and I am getting quite frustrated.

Hello everyone.
I would really like to be able to remove remove unnecessary, bloatware and energy consuming apps for example google +, hangouts, dropbox,...and maybe even the play store.
I want to take full control of my phone so every piece of information is welcome.

P.S. And I don't know if the build number is the same.
I got the impression that it matters and if you don't get the right tools for the exact phone specifications you render you phone useless.

Need help with this as well
Basically the same situation as OP, same phone, same build number.
Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo
Model: GT-I9301I
Build: KOT49H.I9301IXXSAQA1
Prior to my rooting attempts I enabled debug mode, installed the USB drivers and made a full backup via MyPhoneExplorer.
I tried rooting it with CF-Auto-Root. Went to the site, selected the correct model and build (it was listed twice, tried both) and downloaded the Auto-Root package as well as the provided original boot and recovery images. When I try to flash the CFAR image.tar.md5 file, Odin initiates the transfer, however it fails to complete the task.
Here is the log:

<ID:0/003> Complete(Write) operation failed.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
The progress bar stops at around a quarter completed and my phone says "unsupported dev_type" in red letters, rebooting it results in a message that a firmware upgrade encountered a issue and it won't boot.
Thankfully it isn't bricked (yet) as I am able to use Odin to flash the original boot image successfully after which the phone boots normally again.
I tried several versions of Odin all with the same result, I even tried running it in Windows XP compatibility mode which interestingly doesn't make it fail but crash the application at the point where it normally would.
However, that's not helping me getting it rooted so any help would be much appreciated.
Here are the steps:
- install twrp via flashing it with Odin.
- after that make a full backup with twrp just in case
- flash supersu which will give you root (sometimes there is an option in twrp to flash supersu)
Best way to root s3 neo is SuperSU
I had the same version you have, so the solution is:
You'r version cannot be rooted. You have to change it.
Flash this version with Odin you will find on google or here : I9301IXXUANC6 : https://samfrew.com/download/Galaxy__S3__Neo+__/128t/ATO/I9301IXXUANC6/I9301IOXAUANC6/
Then flash recovery to TRWP or something else, then install SuperSu with TRWP recovery or others, and finally flash ROM if you want.
Have fun, tell me if it worked.
I have an unlocked Samsung S8 (SM-G950U) and I'm unable to get Odin to flash a stock rom to it. I'm able to boot it and the current software is:
AP: G950USQS7DTB3
CP: G950USQU7DTF4
CSC G950UOYN7DTB3
When I boot into download mode, it reads: CARRIER: TMB
At this point I'm thinking this isn't an issue of Odin not being able to communicate with the phone. Odin sees it and lists the COM port as expected. I've tried multiple USB cables, USB ports (2.0), uninstalling/reinstalling Samsung drivers, tried from another PC, etc.
Here's a sample log:
<ID:0/005> Odin engine v(ID:3.1401)..
<ID:0/005> File analysis..
<ID:0/005> Total Binary size: 4685 M
<ID:0/005> SetupConnection..
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
I've tried multiple firmware versions from updato and sammobile including TMB and others but they've all failed like this. I'm not sure what else to do at this point to get it back to current firmware level.
Any input or assistance you may be able to offer would be greatly appreciated.
