Did I get an unlocked n9005 - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I bought note 3 n9005 in Pakistan. I have a doubt that I have got an old phone because someone told me. Now I want to know did I get an unlocked phone? Which was locked to some network or specific country and shop keeper unlocked it and sold it to me?
How can I find that?
2nd question is: if phone was already unlocked and now if I upgrade it to 4.4.2 by odin will it again get locked?

Build number is when ur firmware is compiled not when device is built which will be same of old and new device.

Then u go to the service center show the bill as it matches the IMEI they'll take the necessary steps

@thahim: sorry I'm not familiar with this. I see your Diag Code is 0000 so it might be OK, but I'm not sure.
Can you send me all screenshots from the app Phone INFO ★Samsung★ so I can investigate furthermore.

my understanding if yours is international N9005, unlikely u have a locked bootloader device.
The most possible is simlock by the network provider, but this one you can easily remove by region lockaway by Chainfire.

the only possible thing which can harm your device is... you never read the thread properly before you upgrade / flashing root / cwm / custom rom.
so, since you are rooted, my suggestion is go and look for dr. ketan IMEI/EFS backup restore (under themes&apps), and do a backup of it.
better than sorry
after do this, read the thread properly on how to upgrade to KK, find the file properly for N9005. and you are good to go.
cheers.

Bad Camera Quality now - Downgrade Camera Firmware ? @ 4.3 MJ5 (i9505)

Hello,
thats my first post
Im je11 from Germany, I registered here, cause its the best forum on the internet for android modding, development, etc.
My Andro-Devices I already had were an Galaxy S2 i9100 (where i already changed the camera firmware to optimze quality of pictures), XPERIA Z and now I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE i9505 ! - Very good smartphone imo.
Problem:
A few days ago I updatet my i9505 SGS IV from 4.2.2 to Stock 4.3 (MJ5) DBT Unbrandet.
Now I got a bad quality of my photos (on 4.2.2 it was much better!)
Where I can download diffrent camera firmwares for my device ? I only need the cameraFW from the 4.2.2.
Its possible ? I already searched on the whole internet - but nothing found :-/
Thank you very much
and sorry for my bad english
Same problem, I would love to know the answer to this
+1
I found the solution ! Open the cameraFW Menu with the combination of numbers and after that i tapped on update - after 5 minutes of updating the quality of pictures get very good ! Tell me if it works

That's the latest, if you see your current firmware it matches it. As far as I know the last time camera firmware was updated was when 4.3 was first released. When I updated to 4.3 from 4.2.2 and opened the camera for the first time it updated the camera. Maybe later firmwares will bring nearer updates.

Android 4.2.2 baseband firmware version
Hello! Please tell me what baseband firmware version that you had before you updated it, I'm asking you because the camera is very useful for me at work, for me this phone is not a toy and unfortunately I was in the same situation with you, my phone was purchased from the store and it's new and it came with Android 4.3 baseband I9505XXUEMKF - the camera was bad like yours, I've updated the baseband firmware to Android 4.4.2 I9505XXUFNB8, the phone was never rooted and I was not installed no custom ROM, I've purchased it on 20 June 2014, I have warranty at it and now after some small researches I've decided to downgrade to 4.2.2 and for that I will send the phone in an Samsung authorized service center but I don't know what baseband firmware version, I want to get best of this mobile because I've made big sacrifices to purchase it because I am needing it. Thank you very much in advance!
Have a nice day!
Best regards!

Yes, if you download the latest BTU firmware from Sammobile you should be able to flash it straight over with Odin as the BTU version is a later version that the Three UK one. However you may have to root it to change the CSC. Incorrect CSC = No OTA or Kies Updates.

What search term do I use on Sammobile to download the correct file?
For example if I were to search 'N9005OLBDM2', I would get Singapore (Star Hub).
What do I need to search to get the file you are refering to?
Im going to guess I need the file:
United Kingdom, 2013 October, N9005XXUDMJ6, N9005OXADMJ4
As I am currently on MJ4

Samsung don't deal with customers in the UK, we go through our retailers. However they have to fix it by law.

Even if they do that, soon as you throw the legal side down at them they sh1t it.
Phone4u are notorious for trying to get out of things. But the truth of the mater is they actually don't have a clue.
Chances are the sales idiot read about download mode and thought "hey ima look all gangsta checking this out" lol

Ok, so Im downloading the .zip from sammobile now. Whats the procedure once its downloaded?
Pop it into Odin and flash?
what parts do i need to flash from odin? As in bootloader, pda etc...
And if somone can confirm that this keeps Knox at 0x0, that'd be great.

UK Firmware on a Canadian Network

Hi all,
I have a GT-I9505 phone. I am in Canada on the Rogers network. I had an issue with their OTA update for 4.4.2 a week ago and was forced to use Odin to put a UK BTU 4.3 firmware onto the phone.
The GT-I9505, to my knowledge, is a UK phone (I actually called Samsung and they told me that model is a UK phone).
So my question is will I receive OTA updates through the Canadian network (Rogers) for the UK BTU firmware that I put on my phone.
The phone is unlocked.
Thanks.
You will receive UK OTA updates if u flashed BTU firmware and ur phone goes OK :highfive:
*EDIT: For confirm it you can:
1. Conect it to Kies 3 and take a look your CSC (Code region). CSC are this 3 letters btw parenthesis. You have all codes HERE
2. If u doesnt root and nothing, u will receive the updates of this CSC. Hi5

I have (AUT) which is Switzerland. Based on SamMobile, Switzerland has 4.4.2 out already.
So what does this mean? Will I get OTA updates (through the updates settings on my phone) for Android firmware?
I'm still on 4.3 and my Canadian network that I'm on (Rogers) pushed out 4.4.2 last week. I'm not getting any updates...
Please advise. Thanks!

That's weird though because I bought my phone online, its international and I know there is no GT-i9505 model in Canada. And I was getting OTA through that. So clearly whatever stock firmware I had at the time (which I don't know what it was) was receiving OTA updates.
Any thoughts?

No I don't have that. I just know my phone is Brazilian. Out of the box it worked fine here in Canada on the Rogers network. Got 4.3 and it was fine. Perhaps 4.4.2, put out by Rogers, realized I wasn't the right model or not using a carrier-specific phone?
I'm just not sure anymore. I got the UK BTU 4.3 firmware from Sam mobile but Kies 3 says I am AUT (Switzerland). And I am still unable to get the 4.4.2 update through KIES or OTA.

No it is not rooted. Antutu says no root access and I don't even know how to root (I'm a noob). Also, my device status is official.
I am so confused. I just want to get back the normal OTA update ability and get 4.4.2. I do not want to manually update the firmware every time.
Please help...
I think you should flash a 4.4.2 rom let it be aut

thanks (I cant thank you, I reached my limit lol)
By the way I was looking at my baseband version (modem) and see that its XXUENAA. Sam mobile does not show that for the Switzerland firmware (AUT).
I wonder what that means?

Ya I think I had AUT before hand and now I switched to BTU and it won't do OTA.
So I'll flash an AUT 4.3 onto my phone and see if it wants to do an OTA 4.4.2 update. Thanks

you propably updated to the new version of Kitkat 4.4.2.
The new update had the bandversion I9301IXXUANF4 for me (I updated too) (there is no possible way to root this version as far as i know)
But the not updated version of KitKat 4.4.2 (bandversion for me: I9301IXXUANC6) works with towelroot.
Beside i updated to the new update i still got my phone rooted:
I downloaded the new version of Odin on my pc.
I downloaded the old version from sammobile. (the I9301IXXUANC6 version)
In Odin (launched with admin rights) you click on the PDA (or sometimes AP called) button and select the downloaded firmware version (unpacked)
Next boot your phone in recovery mode (turn it off, then press volume down + home + power button)
Connect your phone to your pc (after that odin should recognize your phone)
Now make sure re-partition is NOT checked in odin !this is very important! and click start (now wait some time until its finished)
Your phone should reboot automatic (if auto reboot is checked in odin) and the old firmware should be on your phone
Now install towelroot and click "make it rain"
Now you should have root!
(Hope this helps. Sorry for my bad english... :crying: )

Well, I hope that there will be a root app for I9301IXXUANF4 soon.
I've got some bad memories of doing anything to my phone with ODIN. App is the only non-destructive way for me.
Does anyone know how much time developer needs to release his updated app after new version of Android?
in download mode do you have trace of knox?
i can't understand if it's only a software knox or a hardware one (efuse) like on the s4
you can enter in download mode by doing:
The phone must be turned off.
Keep pressing and holding ‘Home Button (middle button) + Volume down key + Power Button’ simultaneously until you see a warning message. Now press Volume Up to continue. This will land you into downloading mode.

If you read "knox warranty etc..." there is a hardware-efuse knox

Do you mean that you can downgrade, then root and then again apply the update installing the "F4" version of firmware?
Thanks

No I just wanted to say that I updated my phone to the "F4" version. And after I found that the updated version cannot be rooted I downgraded the phone and rooted it. I am still on the old "C6" version.

Only C6 can be rooted, and as far as I can see there are not that changes with ANF4 and the newer!
So if you really need follow the steps of some posts before!
