[App + Tutorial] Samsung Milk Music + Samsung Account - Nexus 5 Themes and Apps

*ROOT ONLY* US & International Bypass on how to use fully functioning Milk Music (Samsung) on any device :
As you probably know, Milk Music is Samsung's free, stylish radio akin to Pandora, and Slacker. Milk Music is actually powered by Slacker Radio itself. There's a catch in order to use it
however, you must have a Samsung device. I'm going to show you how to pose as a Samsung Galaxy S4 to bypass the limitations and use Milk Music.
1. Download and install Milk Music from here : http://d-h.st/ADR
2. Download and install SamsungAccount from here : http://d-h.st/PGq (Only needed to enable explicit songs and sync stations)
3. Make an account using the SamsungAccount app located in Settings > Accounts. (IF YOU WANT TO ENABLE EXPLICIT SONGS AND HAVE THE ABILITY TO SYNC STATIONS! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!)
4. Open up your favorite text editor, and navigate to your build.prop file and open it, make a backup.
5. Modify these lines as follows...
ro.product.model=Nexus 5
ro.product.brand=google
ro.product.manufacturer=LG
TO
ro.product.model=Galaxy S4
ro.product.brand=Samsung
ro.product.manufacturer=Samsung
5a. Reboot as normal and launch Milk Music!
CONTINUE ONLY IF YOU DO NOT LIVE IN THE USA!
6. This normally only works for people with an IP address in the United States range. However there's a free VPN service called Spotflux on the App Store. Download and enable it and launch
Milk. I'm from the United States, so I wasn't able to test this but there is no logical reason this should not work as the VPN gives you an IP from the US. If it doesn't work from here, post
in this thread and I will try to help you to the best of my ability.
Notes* :
1. You are allowed six skips an hour per station.
2. The app may lock up and crash occasionally. Just force close and clear data. You'll lose all information unless you've followed step 2 above.
3. Don't forget to seed your station with artists and songs that you like so you are more likely to find what you want to hear.
4. You can change audio quality from the default Standard quality to High Quality in the settings of Milk Music.
(I'm sure I forgot something but this is the gist of the thread, and should be all you need to run this, if I missed something or messed up I will fix it as soon as I realize/ it is brought
to my attention.)

Saved just in case. Don't worry OP is messy I know, I suck with playing with the BBCode.

Haha
Well i am not a fan of samsung but till thanks.
Made it like a kinda bump your thread a bit so that people who really want thhis guide/mod or really awaited it could find it :silly:
Anyways good work :highfive:

Additional notes : anything that relies on build . prop settings to detect things like FKU or GooManagers TWRP installer will not work until original build . prop is restored. I'm looking for a way to make it so it's spoofed only for Milk Music and not the entire system. Thanks.

their is a paid app in the play store that will spoof your device and allow you to backup your old device profile. However it's based on build.props from other people who have backed up their device...there were 3 "S3' profiles and one of them worked I listened to mik music a lot on my LG G Pro using this app However it did bork bluetooth and create a bluetooth enable loop..so DO NOT TURN ON BLUETOOTH using this app until you spoof back. Bluetooth will work fine after that.
Off topic; thanked OP for samsung account apk. needed it for S5 S-Translate on Note 3

This is very cool. Please forgive me if this is not supposed to be posted here. Before this I saw an xposed module called Chocolate Milk which is supposed to allow you to use Milk Music as well. Has anyone here tried Chocolate Milk and if so, which method would be easier to use Milk Music and does changing the information in the build prop affect your device in any other way? Please forgive the noob question.
Thanks

Chocolate Milk 1.0 currently from the Xposed Module repository works perfectly and will negate having to spoof the build.prop I will upload and link to it for posterity.
The Nexus 5 advocate (Team Inferno)

new version 1.1. can no longer install.

I haven't used this app in a very long time. I will see if there's a way to install the latest version.

Installed Chocolate Milk 1.0 and the APKs above and it works perfect. Tried the newer versions and it would not log in.

Hey guys I keep getting this even with chocolate milk installed :/ suggestions?

If Chocolate Milk hasn't been updated yet, you're sadly going to have to modify your build.prop using the original method. I'd recommend spoofing as the S5 so that most apps will still appears in the Play Store.

Hmm. I had issues when I was using the newer apks and the newer chocolate milk. But, once I installed the apks from this post and the 1.0 module, it worked. I would try uninstalling and trying again. Make sure xposed is working properly and that the module is activated. Then install the other apps. Make sure you create a Samsung account as well.

problems editing build.prop
I can edit my build.prop but it will not save, no matter what program i use. I have an lg g3, rooted. I know this is a nexus thread but whatever. Whenever i delete the model name it only lets me input "galaxy" past that the letters are unseen. Same with when i try to put in. Samsung to replace LGE it only allows me to enter in "sam". Any ideas? It also wont let me save.

As an alternate method of getting Samsung Milk on your device, here's a thread with a patched APK. No root required, no build.prop editing required either. Just sideload the patched app:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/milk-music-devices-root-required-t2847943
http://nexus5.wonderhowto.com/how-t...music-app-any-android-no-root-needed-0158456/
As an aside, has anyone seen a way to get the new "Milk VIDEO" app onto non-Samsung devices? Via an Xposed mod or patch? Even a source for the APK itself would be nice:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.samsung.milk.milkvideo

[FAQ]: SGS Vibrant i9000m (Bell), also applicable to other models

Data Connection 2G/3G/H
This phone when used on Bell's own network, it can only do 3G & H
(this is not a hardware issue but rather a network issue, there is a topic about this discussion, link coming soon)
However once unlocked the have full 1G(Cuba!)/2G(EDGE)/3G/H on Fido, Rogers, AT&T and any other network that supports the 850/1900/2100 band for data communication
Pre-installed Apps:
TeleNav GPS Navigator if you are not online via 3G or WiFi, you'll get an error message "This application is not available" or something along those lines
The application is not free, it wants you to register for $10 a month, it's safe to uninstall after rooting
BellTV Remote PVR only works if you have a Bell digital cable box for TV, it's safe to uninstall after rooting
Tunes & Apps it's just an Advertisement URL link, it tries to go
Code:
ads.bwanet.ca/getnew.jsp?request=PDAdownload
the link is dead anyways, it's safe to delete after rooting
TV & Radio supposedly to Watch Live TV, Listen to Music and Talk Radio... but it doesn't work.
It might be only available to people on Bell network, the error messages says
> Error
There was a problem
connecting to the service.
Check your data connection.

my recommendation uninstall it if you are rooted, there are better Apps in Android Market that offers the same feature & service
Kobo it comes included with the latest official ROMs. You might want to keep it if you are an e-book reader. It channels you to their online catalog of e-books. Depending from each point of view, it can be categorized as another Advertisement or a Tool.
Personally I'll uninstall it (you'll need to be rooted), the only thing I'll ever read in my phone are PDF files, for everything else i got RSS feeds, tons of e-mails/SMS to go through an lots of websites to keep me busy and relaxed.
AllShare a simple to use App to share your files in the phone to other devices wirelessly.
Worth keeping? Yes
Layar is more of a fun tool than a real utility, it lets you catalog and get info of nearby places where you are standing, it requires the GPS to be ON-line. This App is based on the Anime feature in Eden of the East.
Worth keeping? Yes
Navigation Google Maps Navigation, a simple to use Navigation tool that works out of the box.
Worth keeping? Yes
ThinkFree Office requires activation, but it's completely Free as the name implies (unlike other Apps which claims to be "free" but is crippled one war or another, or with Ads.) you can open and create Microsoft Word Doc, Spread Sheet, and PowerPoint slides, all from the tips of your fingers.
It takes a bit to get used to navigating around the software to do what would normally have been a simple task in the PC.
Worth keeping? Yes
Samsung Apps List of available freebies:
- eBooks by Kobo (the other piece of the forced on ROM Kobo eBook Market)
- Social Hub Push Email and IM (as the name implies it does everything, it's quite good infact, it adds additional supported services to the original version, now it can do Google Accounts, Hotmail/Live Accounts, Yahoo Accounts, Facebook Accounts, Twiter Accounts, MySpace Accounts)
- RoadSMS (SMS that lets you see behind the phone, the road or whatever your phone camera seems to be pointing... great App to check out on girls on the restaurant table in front of you )
- Robert Parker (wine guide)
- Radio Companion (i find it rather interesting, it lets you sing karaoke to the radio station you are listening to... well sort of, it will scroll and display the lyrics as the song plays on the radio station)
- Asphalt5 (racing game, full version, completely free, notice this is not the Asphalt5 HD)
- Vlingo Voice (voice control your phone, dictation, launch apps, etc)
- Krazy Kart Racing (from Konami) cartoonish kart racing game, fun!
- Facebook for Samsung the name says it all it's a new facebook apps from Samsung
- Movies App for movie show times, trailers and reviews

You may want to add something in here about Bell's lack of a 2g GSM network and checking if your phone has the download mode disabled or not. These seem to be 2 common questions on these forums about the Canadian I9000M.
Thanks for the reminder, yes this FAQ is a work in progress
The TV & Radio app is worth keeping if you are a Bell subscriber and into the idea. Basically it is a premium app, you have to pay for subscriptions to channels. But you can access content like live NHL games, HBO, etc.
It also lets you subscribe to and listen to Sirius sat. radio.
But if you don't have a 6GB plan it's a total non-starter.
For someone in the United States, where's the best place to purchase an unlocked one? I can't find any on US ebay and only like 3 on CA ebay.

Edit: alright, I think I found'em. What's tn55-android-blur.apk? The TeleNav application by any chance?
updated
- Krazy Kart Racing (from Konami) cartoonish kart racing game, fun!
Any chance of an apk dump of "Social Hub Push Email and IM" and "Radio Companion" apps? (assuming that they are legal to share, these aren't in my JP3 app store).
I would also ask for Krazy Kart Racing, but pretty sure thats a paid app and I don't wanna break any rules lol..
Otherwise, if no-one can share anything... what firmwares are these apps available for? just the non-beta ones? or just for the bell i9000?
Yes, bell i9000m JH2 is the latest official ROM from Kies
it is compatible with I9000 international, but you will need Odin to flash it
or do the KIES cheat as mentioned in another topic, to make the changes in the registry, so it will download Bell JH2 for you.
But as far as i know, if they are included as freebies inside Samsung Apps, it should also be available to the international i9000 ROMs with Samsung Apps
Thanks for the reply AllGamer
Sorry that I'm a little confused, are the radio and social hub push email included in the firmware or downloadable from the samsung apps store?
Do you know how samsung app store determines phone version? Can we fake this through build.prop or something to download the latest apps, or does it have a more complicated check?
Only cause it seems that the number of apps available to JP3 is limited (and I wanna stick to this firmware for now, it's awesome )

[APP] 2BORANGE - ROM Mananager [new: SUPPORT EXTERNAL SERVER] - [BETA 1.8] - 05/02/12

Question to EVERYBODY:
do you have an idea to recognize any ROM easily? I already use the SDK function, it is not enough I think.
Description
2BOrange provides an easy way to install ROM or any package on a device, get push notification of the updates, a powerful GPS device localizer which resist to hard reset, and few other tools to improve your device experience (system app uninstaller, task killer...).
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pommedeterresautee.twoborange2
What you can do:
As a user:
- download a ROM / Kernel... from our server and install it with two click
- get push notification when update are available
- Protect your phone against loss with a GPS localizer.
- Backup / Restore your phone
- Uninstall system application
- Kill background tasks
- get some technical information about your device
As a developer:
- upload your stuff on www.2borange.com server OR make a link to your server / Dropbox
- create your own script to manage your ROM
- add some add on package easily
What is improved compared to other ROM Manager:
- easy and quick to create an account on the server
- easy way to implement your own script to manage your ROM
- push notification to users when you upload your stuff (use the C2DM Google technology -> don't use any extra battery)
- a very beautiful interface (original + follows Google UI guidelines)
- you can have download from a link to your personal server, or even a Dropbox account!!!
- Add Md5Sum Check (file integrity check)
How Does ROM Manager part works?
Short version:
You can post on the server a zip plus the shell script to install the zip on the device.
Long version:
There are 2 parts in the project, a website, and an Android application.
Android application download files and execute it on the phone.
The website is used to upload the package.
A package is composed of two parts:
- a mandatory text file which contains the shell commands to execute
- an optional zip file which contains any file necessary to the execution of the command, like a ROM to install.
The website address: http://www.2borange.com
ROM Supported:
- SLIM (Samsung i9000, SG2, Vibrant, Nexus, Crespo, Crespo 4G)
- Tiramisu (Samsung i9000)
- Sedan Class (Samsung Vibrant)
MOD Supported:
- Beats Audio&Xloud (any phone) What is different from other GPS localizer available on Google Play:
- uses Google C2DM technology, it means that even s your phone is always ready to send its GPS position to you, it doesn't use any extra battery
- if your phone is rooted, the application will resist to a hard reset, as soon as the phone is reused (registration with Google server) the application is able to send its GPS position to you.
- if GPS is not available, application uses GSM triangulation (less precision but works almost everywhere)
Is it Free ? Is it Open Source?
It is totally free.
Android application is open source (GPL 2 License), no paid version to come.
I have tons of ideas for the next steps, but I want your opinion, don't hesitate to ask me to add some functions, I will be happy to program it.
Give it a try and share your opinion here.
Regards.

Hi benedek92,
The good news is that your tablet FC after you request the position, it means the notification arrives to your tablet.
My guess is that the bug is due to the localization process, as it uses both GPS and GSM. Because your tablet have no GSM connection, the request to this function probably creates the FC.
You can help me easily, can you install the application "alogcat". It shows a log of your phone. After installing it, ask for a GPS localization. It will FC. After the FC, goes in alogcat, and in the text, you will see red text. It is the error.
In alogcat, you can share the log (option button), send it to me to this email: contact[at]2borange.com (please replace the [at] by @) or post it in this thread.
It should be not so hard to fix.
Thank you for your help!

If your phone is stolen or lose, having the GPS is good, but having the phone number of the inserted SIM card could be cool also (you can call directly the new "owner" of your phone).
That is why I included the phone number in the GPS localization Email.
I have not thought to the tablet which have no phone number (SIM card for tablet are just for data).
How do you use your tablet as a phone? Through Skype or directly like any phone? I mean you have a phone number where people can call you on your tab? As per the log you sent me there is no phone number associated with your tab!

In this log too there is no phone number! Means probably that there is probably a special API for your tablet.
I will fix the 2 bugs I ve discovered in your logs so you will be able to localize without crashing (but no phone number in the email), and after I will try the app on the emulator with the Samsung tablet image to see how I can fix that.

Well, thank you. It would be great when I would be able to recieve the location via email. Thank you for this app
Can the custom ROM be the problem?
BTW,if I remember well,in Eclipse there is Samsung Galaxy Tab emulator but with Froyo.

Glad to hear!!!
I have pushed the update on the market.
Because the version I have posted for test on the forum was not signed with my Google certificate, you will have to uninstall it before installing the market version.

[App/1.5+/Open-source/Root and Non-root] Permanent screen off for the Visual Impaired

Open source app development project: Permanent screen off for the Visual Impaired
Short summary
This is an app development project that turns off the Android screen permanently yet keeps the touchscreen and other features active and functional for the visual impaired.
Introduction & Goals of the project
There are many Android users who are blinded. And to them, they access the app mainly using TalkBack or other Screen Reader app. That also means that the screen is basically useless to them. They don't need to look at the screen yet they need to be able to use touchscreen.
This project is to create an app that will turn the screen completely off (100% off) yet let the user use the phone as normal.
Assuming that the blind takes more time than normal user to perform an action, it dramatically saves the device's battery.
The app must be easy to use and tailored to visual impaired user.
The app automatically runs with the device.
The app must be free and advertisement-free.
Background
I am the developer of the project and I recruit the interest of other developers / users as well. I am the developer of Screen Standby app, which this project is based on.
Device requirements
- Running Android 1.5 (Cupcake) or above
- (Optionally) Rooted for best battery-saving. The app works with non-root device though, only rooted device achieves complete dark
Instruction
1) Download the apk and Install the app
2) Run the app at least once
3) Select Enable app from menu
4) If the system asks for Superuser access, select always remember and allow
5) To disable, select "Disable app" from the menu and restart the device.

}
NOTE: Please read
1) Always use a screen reader (e.g TalkBack) with the app. In case you want to use your device without the screen
2) This app will permanently switch the device's screen off when it is active. To turns the screen back on, select "Disable app" or uninstall app completely and reboot
3) To uninstall from ADB, go to a shell and type: adb uninstall com.nkahoang.screenoffvisualimpair
Download
Currently the app can be downloaded from attachment section of this post. When it is stable enough, it will be ready to be released on Play Store for free download.
Source code can be downloaded in second post
If you know any Android user who is blinded, let them use the app and report. Any feedback is welcomed

As the guy above me said. G great idea which actually will help some people. But I don't think that many actually blind people are going to find this app unfortunately... You have to put it on Google play and name it in such way that blind people will find it

Hello,
While putting it on the Play store is a good idea, there are a few blind folks on XDA like myself who would be happy to give this app some testing beforehand.
Thanks for posting to the eyes-free list, and thanks for developing this app!
correct this is also needs to be on the playstore as screen off or something easy that some of us can find more easily on the playstore . all of us blind people thank you for the app that hav found it but for those who cant can you please turn it into an APK installer or make it easy to install from playstore. as a lot of blind people don't know how to install zip files on android. if you can give me a quick tutorial I can explain to the eyes free list. I am a blind intermediate user of android. I do understand rooting, installing custom roms and gapps and installing apps for rooted devices but some of the rest on the eyes fre are a bit limited here so if you can give them an APK installable file it would be much easier to install rather then a zip package in which they have to figure out what to do with it.

Hi,
I sure will put it on play store once it is stable. The app is currently in development.
The zip file is for the source code of the app. I attached the apk on the very first post:

Well done OP.
You are a hero for undertaking this venture. I wish you more success.
I still might have a use for this in my Android devices that I'm using as Network Cameras using the IP Webcam app.
But I will have to test it out to see if it acts the way I need it to (I'm not at home yet, but I will try it.)
On Android 2.x I'm able to have a camera app run fine in the background or with the screen off, but on Android 4.0 and newer, the camera doesn't work completely if you turn off the screen or switch to a different app.
I'm wondering, will this app allow me to have the screen completely off (on a rooted device) but still have the camera use all the processor it needs for perfect Network Camera functionality?
Thanks.

The camera will continue functioning normally. However, you may want to consider using my other app, Screen Standby # Root, also on XDA to achieve that. This app is tailored specifically to aid the blind in particular.
nkahoang i dont know if you got my email i sent a while back but i was looking for a app like this but be able to close my tablet and plug a keyboard and a mouse into my dock and hook it up to my tv and use my tv as a monitor screens cracked and touchscreen capability are all down the drain, would be great if you could add this feature to this app so i could finally find a use for my tablet again and as always keep up the good work.:good::fingers-crossed:
I have another use that I would like to ask for. Could you integrate Tasker support? I ride a motorcycle and have a bluetooth kit installed on my helmet. I leave my phone in my pocket or a glove box and therefore the screen is of no use to me. Yet if I ask Google Now to navigate somewhere, it opens navigation that keeps the screen on draining battery quickly. This really sucks as I don't have an outlet to plug into while riding. So, if I could setup a profile to activate this app while riding and disable it when I'm done, that could help me out a lot.
hello I was wondering I there has been further development on this app.
Lots of blind users are wondering about eh app development.
Since ther is no info a bit oncerning .
I know tha you develop the screen root stand by primarly but can you also devot e some development ot he app for he blind as well.
thanks for your development efforts
Hello, Now I am using Shades app by the eyes free team at Google. That is an app published to the google play. However after reading the description in the first post I think this app might be capable of saving more of the battery juice. I have just installed it on my SGS2 running CM-10 however if this is already know I would like to ensure this is really more powerfull than the Shades app I was tallking about.
Thanks and greetings

Dear all,
finally, I got them...
I was able to install play store on mine.
First, needs root. The only one I found that worked was Baidu Root here.
http://root.baidu.com/
Once it's rooted, I installed Super SU
http://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.supersu
After Super SU, install Root Browser
http://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.root.browserfree
After Root Browser is installed, download CM9 Gapps to your pc.
http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip
Unzip the zip file, and copy GoogleServicesFramework.apk and Phonesky.apk to the device.
edit: also copy GoogleLoginService.apk
Open Root Browser, and copy GoogleServicesFramework.apk and Phonesky.apk from wherever you copied it to /system/app. You cannot just install the play store APK's normally, they must be copied to /system/app. Change permissions to match other apps. Shut down device and restart. Play store should be in app drawer now. After running, it should auto update to latest play store version.
Overall, pretty good. Still some apps show as incompatible (such as chrome, sadly), but light years ahead of the BT100's play store compatibility. Plus I can always backup and side-load apps from my phone for any that show as incompatible on BT200. Quickpic works fine, diceplayer works fine. Great for some SMB movie streaming from my file server. Touchpad input is annoying as hell to use. If you stroke the very very edge of the touch-pad, it works as single line scroll. May be able to remap these later to back or home buttons, but then again if I use an external BT keyboard I'm afraid it might remap the cursor keys too. The visor lens is a little tricky to remove, you don't unscrew it, you pull it outward (if you were wearing the device, pull away from your eyes) by 2mm until it clicks then pull downward.
I don't know if you noticed, I don't see it in your pics, I have a clear visor lens included in the pocket here.
Also, the moverio camera quality absolutely blows.
alcuin,
first of all thenks for your suggests, I will add them in the main post. Yes... on my package I missed the clear visor lens you speak about. Could I have a picture of that accessory? I would contact Epson to get it back.
For the Software Development Kit, developers can work with the Wikitude SDK, a stand-alone (really priced sincerely, €2,499) package optimized for the BT-200.
It is possible to download a trial version of the Wikitude SDK (last update 3.2.2 - (24.02.2014)) after the registration from here: http://www.wikitude.com/download
It's a maintenance release as reported by the log: http://www.wikitude.com/developer/news/-/blogs/maintenance-update-wikitude-sdk-3-2-1
and I have some dubts if it is the same version of the commercial one as really outdated.

alcuin, don't worry. I should get my glass within that week as my dad sent it before to snap the pictures (I am working outside my hometown).
Here it is finally. I was wrong though, it's not a clear lens that's included; it's a darker lens, and one insert for using prescription lenses. If you want clear, just take off all the lenses.

Dear babyfish0226,
I did a review but it is en Italian language... now I rooted the glass and I have installed the Google Play and some apps just for testing. Sincerely I am not happy for that and I guess the Google Glass will outshine it quickly as the target is not the casual user than the professional. It isn't wearable for the "brick" you have to pick with you and the result of the projection is far from my old Sony HUD (HMZ-T2).
I have to play it more, I have to look into the core apps for more details but as Prelaunch product is really premature.

Dear Barend,
for the installation of extenal files, you have to enable the option for the untrusted sources. You are able to install APK without the root rights.
Look at here for 4.x: http://papidroid.com/2013/12/12/how-to-install-apk-files-on-your-android-phone-or-tablet/

Normally in Settings, options fo developers, one can enable Usb-debugging. But in the Moverio there is no such option.

Has anyone tethered to an iPhone successfully?
I just unpacked my BT200 this weekend and ran through the forums and managed to get the google play store and root access.
I am trying to tether my BT200 to my iPhone 5's personal hotspot. When I try via bluetooth, it reboots. If I try it again, it will show connected and the "use this device for internet" will be checked -- but I don't seem to have any connectivity. I don't see any network stats and none of my apps see a network connection.
If I try to use the iPhone's wifi, it will detect it at excellent strength, but once I try to connect, it reports the strength and poor and cycled connecting, disconnecting, and connecting over and over again until I forget the network or use another wifi.
Otherwise, I am able to connect to wifi. And I have tested the iPhone hotspot (bluetooth and wifi) with another android device. So I know that it works.
Has anyone else been able to tether to an iPhone?

Google Playstore
To get google play, I followed mostly the directions from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52652576&postcount=3
First: install the amazon app store and get winzip
http://www.amazon.com/mobile-apps/b?node=2350149011
You can install the amazon app store and get apps from there immediately without anything special. From there I installed winzip, which you will need later.
Second: root your phone.
Google for Baidu 2001 apk
(http://www13.zippyshare.com/v/62451397/file.html)
This program will unlock your ability to use root access on the phone. It is in Chinese, so just press the obvious blue button. If it turns green, you are good.
Third: Install and run SuperSU
Goodle supersu apk
(http://www.appsapk.com/supersu/)
This program allows programs to request root access (which you unlocked with Baidu) and to use it. So you will need this to access your system files.
Fourth: Install a Root File Browser
Google jrummy browserfree.apk
(http://storage.evozi.com/apk/dl/14/05/12/com.jrummy.root.browserfree.apk?vc=223)
This is a file browser that knows how to use SuperSU, so when you try to copy files into your /system/apps folder, it can get root permissions and do this.
Fifth: Download the google play package and unzip
Download: http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip
This is the proprietary google android stuff that Moverio didn't include. (see more details at http://wiki.rootzwiki.com/Google_Apps)
Use the winzip to unzip this file into your downloads folder.
Now use the JRummy Browser free to copy the following files from:
your_download/system/app/GoogleLoginService.apk
your_download/system/app/GoogleServicesFramework.apk
your_download/system/app/Phonesky.apk
to /system/app/
Sixth: reboot
When you go to the shop link, you should now see the google play store.
Thanks Lacodemonkey,
I will try it.

Android 5.1 safe to remove apps

Here is my list of apps that I have frozen. I'm on sprint so, all Verizon junk has been frozen. If you are on any other network, be cautious to remove apps related to that network. Also, if you use any of the Google apps, such as documents, you obviously do not want to freeze them. Same goes for other apps.
So fat everything has been working great.

I mean, isn't android system webview required just to surf the net?
---------- Post added at 07:52 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:51 PM ----------
What do you actually use on your phone?
If you would have listed what you enabled, I think the list would have been shorter.
Just out of curiosity, you write above that you disabled all Verizon junk, but going through the list, it makes me think whether you even use the N6 in daily life.
Some apps are really necessary, but you should definitely not disable "Android Web View" because this is regular updated to maintain compatibility (not sure whether also bugs are fixed with it)
Well to be fair. It is a pretty good list. I freeze many of the same programs he has because I will never use them. I'm not going to ever Cloud Print or the Google launcher or use Chrome or Gmail because I have my own programs for that I don't need them ever to run. Ever.
My issue was freezing things that may affect your security.
Sent from my Nexus 6
Hahaha. You guys are funny. I use my phone everyday. I spent a bunch of time texting, emailing, making phone calls, browsing the web, watching videos, Skype/Viber, Pandora via Bluetooth. Sure I don't play games and don't use much of what Google preinstalled, but that that doesn't mean the phone is useless. All I can say is that my battery life is simply amazing.
That's a lot..
Android System WebView is the wrapper that apps use to load webpages in the app. I would not disable that...
EDIT: Second thought, this whole list blows.
what a joke of a list. i've only removed the Verizon/Sprint crap and a few of the languages i'll never use.
i'm getting ~2 days of use while still using it normally. i get disabling/freezing/uninstalling gmail when you use another app, but killing half the services that make it actually useful is ridiculous.
So what's the point of buying a Google phone if you're gonna disable Google?

Have a phone that is easy to unlock and root? I don't watch movies on my phone at least not from google, I use google mail but not a fan of their app, I do not like the newsstand, etc etc etc. Why would I want these services/ or apps ever to run if I am never going to use them
I use the play store ,
I think he went a bit overboard on the list but it is nice to know IF you want to turn these off you "can" :good:
Does anyone know if there's a way I can transfer some of these Google system apps to user apps and delete them? Not the important ones as much as apps like Fit and stuff like that.

No need to move them.
You could delete them with Root Explorer
But I would suggest you back them up and delete them with Titanium Backup

But of course everybody has his own idea.
I am using Gmail and Keep and the Daydreams and instead of Photo's I installed the good old KitkatGallery.apk.
For me your list is an example. But the list rather long because of the use of screenshots.
For everybody who wants to disable not used software I made your list with text only.

so I removed VZW Backup app with TitaniumBackup and now I am getting "buacontactadapter has stopped working" whenever I uninstall an app...
i assume because it was tied to Google's app backup process?
can i fix this or can someone upload their apk for me so i can reinstall?
edit: i rebooted and tested, notification went away. oh well
Yes you typically backup something before you delete it unless you're 100% sure, otherwise you have no emergency button [emoji722]

it seems it was just a glitch where google was pinging the backup file and when it didnt match the VZW app, it resulted in an error.
a reboot got rid of the issue. i should have know and understood this. there is no way a vzw backup on an att phone would cause google software issues.
this thread is comical. op should look up the definition of bloat. disabling android core system apps does not constitute removing "bloat". thought this would be informative, instead it was entertaining
