Can Someone explain to me how the Rom version works? what the letters represent?
for example : N9005XXUBMI7
N9005XXUDMJ6
this are two roms with the same version (4.3) how can i know which rom version is newer?
what each letter refer to?
Thanks!

The last 2 letters and 1 digit should be incremental. Mj6 is newer than mi7

N9005XXUBMI7
N9005XXUDMJ6
N9005 - for N9005 model
XXU - for XX product (Product Name = hltexx)
BMI7 or DMJ6 - version
To compare 2 versions, you should compare from left to right. E.g D > B so DMJ6 > BMI7.
If BMI7 vs BMJ3 then BMJ3 > BMI7.
To check for Product Name you can use my app Phone INFO ★Samsung★
Download link in my signature.
Thanks a lot for the help! is this rules applying on all the Samsung devices?

What The build number represent ? for example "I9195XXUMBL4" is it refer to the AP CP or the CSC (Odin ) Rom files?

XXU can refer to AP, CP or BOOTLOADER file, but not CSC file.
So how do i know what is the newer version in this situation: AP:N7100XXDMC3
CP: N7100XXDLK7
this two files came with the same device??

Question : is the CSC / Phone firmware independent from the ROM?
For example, my phone says: Broadband Version = N9005XXUBMJ1
Can I flash N9005XXUBMJ3 over that using Odin's PHONE and CSC buttons?
Or should I wait until a new Omega ROM version includes the new phone and csc firmware?
My phone is a Note 3 (N9005) running Omega 2.3

In Odin you can flash 4 different things:
- bootloader
- pda
- phone
- csc
My question is if you can flash these independently, or if each has to be attuned to the other. For example would it hurt to patch "phone" and "csc" from XXUMBJ3 over Omega ROM 3.1 (which comes with XXUMBJ1)
If that's a confusing question, please let me know how I can improve the question.
Model : SM-N9005
Country : France
Version : Android 4.3
PDA : N9005XXUBMJ1
CSC : N9005OXXBMJ1
I'm rooted, I know that once I'm rooted I can't go back to OTA updates so my question is what should i choose on Sammobile cause there are two France Version, or either the two of them will work on my phone with no problems? And I can flash all the N9005 compatible roms, right? Thank you so much.

This firmware packages are only safe update for go back 4.3 versions. They're completely stock firmware without bootloader file(s).
If you're already 4.4.2 or lastest firmware, this packages not for you.

I do not understand what you are claiming here.
For instance for N9005 you are providing two 4.4.2 ROMs.
What can you DOWNGRADE with those 4.4.2 ROMs?
i bought n9005 with 4.3, then i flashed 4.4.2 on it, now IMEI unknown, NULL/NULL, Baseband UNKNOWN,
Please help me,
I have tried MODEM Change solution but not work for me

Did you flash the firmware that was incompatible with your device?
You didn't tell what is your original CSC and what is the CSC you are using to flash?
Try to reflash the stock firmware for your device.
Use Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app to know your CSC, and also to obtain the stock firmware for your device (Menu > 'Firmware Browser').
IMEI / Baseband null

ZZH mean TGY, it is the CSC for Hong Kong firmware. This firmware is NOT compatible with all other version of Note 3.
If you don't know what is your original CSC, you can post all screenshots from the app, and we will try to guess it.

Hello, had same problem, as well and managed to fix it. Did you solve this?
To solve IMEI NULL (assume using stock ROM):
1. Download the modem from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2475714
2. Go to download mode
3. Open ODIN and flash the modem only.

OK, your device is international Note 3 and you have flashed firmware for Note 3 Hong Kong. These firmwares are not compatible to each other, so it did brick your device.
Your original CSC is XSI (United Arab Emirates)
Try to download stock firmware for XSI and reflash it using Odin or Kies.
To obtain download link, open 'Phone INFO ★Samsung★' app > Menu > 'Firmware Browser', enter XSI in the CSC textbox, press Go button to search and select the firmware to download.
Gud luck.
I went on this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/general/ref-galaxy-note-3-sm-n9005-gsm-modems-t2842806
and downloaded NG1 modem, that did the trick for me.
Hello.
My Galaxy Note 3 (4.4.2) has the following :
AP: N9005XXUGNH1
CP: N9005XXUGNH1
CSC : N9005EURGNG1
kernel 3.4.0-1955971
My problem is that i cannot find the original firmware N9005XXUGNH1 (want to follow the root instructions on (http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/general/root-root-xxufnf4-stock-firmware-knox-t2840150) but cannot find XXUGNH1 ... i find DXUGNH1 and XXUGNG1
Is that possible ?
Thanks in advance for any info.
Download the XXUGNH1 firmware and extract the boot.img, then follow the guide in the link in your post!
N9005 NH1 32GB Stock debloated rooted ROM
That is my issue!!!
There is no XXUGNH1 firmware!!!
I cannot find it anywhere (even google returns almost no results!!!)
How is this possible ?

Nope, CSC should be EUR (EUR = Greece). NG1 (actually GNG1) is just a Version.
You can use Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app > Menu > 'Firmware Browser' to find the firmware for your device.
I think you will find that version is Portugal MEO build. you can find it on SAM MOBILE
if you cannot find it, use the filters and look for Portugal version.
sorry i would post a link but this is my first post.
thanks
