[Q] Charging rate decreases? - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
So I'm having trouble with maximizing my charging speed (1900 mAh it was).
Using chargers other than the official S4's I would go down to about 500 mAh in a couple weeks.
Using the official S4 charger though, I also see decreased charging speeds.
My S4 has already went to Samsung for a repair on the charging hub, but I'm wondering if it is broken again.
Please any help/tips?

Question about wireless charging (QI) specs for the GS4

Does anyone know what is the maximum possible charging current when using a wireless charging setup?, or does anyone know what all the wireless charging specs are for the GS4, like maximum charging current? I bought a charging insert coil, and my phone charges at 640mah with it. I was trying to get one that gave me a little more juice, and bought a different one which it says has a 1000mah output capacity, but it still charges at 640mah. Currently I have ktoonz kernel and a fast charge enabler app, turning fast charge on and off does not make any difference. Also, searching online does not give me specific answers related to wireless charging specs on the GS4.
thanks.

[Q] Slow charge

Hi, I noticed that my Nexus 4 charger pretty slow so I decided to check this out.
i've been doing a lot of reading here but couldn't figure out the problam.
I'm using the original charger (lg's 5v 1.2a) but charge speed is around 300-400ma (checked with battery monitor widget), with short peaks around the 600-700ma.
I tried the galaxy nexus charger (5v 1a) with both the samsung cable and the lg.. got around 850ma which is slighty lower than expected.
decided to give it a try with a friend's nexus 5 charger (1.2a) but also got only ~850ma at the most.
So I think my charger doesn't work like it should, but can't seem to figure out why other chargers won't charge full speed.
(I'm running rooted kitkat 4.4 if that's relevant to the matter).
Does anyone has any idea what could be the problem?
Thank you!!
I've never seen a full 1200mAh charge no matter what cable/charger combo I use. Closest I can recall seeing is high 900's using battery monitor widget pro.
It's possible that the charge rating I am seeing is taking into account the drain as well from using the phone. So it could be around +1200mAh but with screen on and the apps that I have running + other services (wifi, bluetooth, etc), that it is only doing around +800mAh in terms of charging the battery.

My Gnex charges at a little over 1000ma (with the samsung 1a charger - same charger that gives my nexus 4 ~850ma)
Nexus 5 got 1070 max with its' 1.2a charger.... both messured with battery monitor widget.
Could the N4 charge be limitted to 900ma?
Any chance my connetcor or battery need fixing?
anybody has any idea what could be the problam?

S4 Charger and phone get really hot

Hi all,
I have a Samsung s4 GT i9505 and when i leave it for charge the charger gets very very hot and im not sure on what to do. I only bought the phone yesterday ( 22/07/14) so it was only my first night with it. I decided to switch off the phone and leave it on charge, but that made no difference. I installed all the OTA updates yesterday as well.
Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks

I have the same problem with my s4. I guess it is normal for a samsung devices, because I heard from other people having this problem on a s3 or s2
Same here, as long as it doesnt shut down its np, the charger for s4 provides 2A which makes it warm while charging
Sent from my GT-I9505 using XDA Free mobile app
It is not a problem. The battery gets warmer because samsung charger gives more "juice" than most other chargers. The battery needs more power to charge because the phone uses it more, so the battery heats up more. Also, it charges faster...
The higher the charger current (2A), the faster the charge rate, but also, more heat!
Guys my charger isnt a 2A charger, I got a 1A travel adaptor.
Input 100-240V 50-60Hz 0.15A
Output 5.0V 1.0A
But it runs incredibly hot when i leave it for a charge.

[Q] Slow Charge Stock ( Rooted ) 5.0 LG G2

Hi Guys,
I've updated my T-mobile G2 to 5.0 and its facing slow charge when charging with none LG chargers, I know that it's one of lollipops features to check the usb cable connected and based upon that determine the charging power, so far i'm charging at around 700 MAH so it takes like 5 hours to charge, anyway, my LG is rooted yet with stock bootloader and i was wondering if there is a fix I can flash via fastboot that will remove that check and let the phone charge at full speed no matter the cable.
PS know that when using CM12 even when not using LG cables the phone charges at 1600 MAH.

Any one with Galaxy S8 Active, what is the charging rate in mA?

Hi all! I have a Galaxy S8 Active which runs T-Mo firmware and is used on T-Mo network. The phone has latest August patch installed. Could anyone please tell me what is the charging rate measured with Ampere or similar app? I don't have original charger and cable at the moment, but I do have compatible chargers such as Anker 5 port QC 3.0 and 1 port of with PD which is 3 Amp. I also tried Pixel 2 charger, another Microsoft 3.0 Amp charger. All of those chargers provide about 970mA which is the max I have seen. The rate doesn't go up. The lock screen shows as charging fast
It depends on the charger. I measured with a USB tester the charge rate with two SONY chragers and, while one charges at 0.9 A, the other one does it at 1.5 A.
The capacity of the battery seems to be 2400 mAh with a brand new one from 2017
