Hello,
I'm connecting to my company network, using TLS and certificate that was issued for me. Everything works fine, until I decide to switch off WIFI or connect to another network, when I'm trying to connect to company's network back, it refuses to connect without any error message.
The connect back, I need either to reboot the device or "forget network" and declare it all over again, with certificate identity etc ...
I'm using KitKat 4.4.2, tried to change device name, disable wifi optimization, change freq. nothing help.
Anyone saw this problem before?
thanx in advance.
Tried the same on my Nexus 4 and could not recreate the issue. Looks like something specifically in Nexus 10....

OK so after having problems connecting my XDA2s to my laptop via wifi to use it's ADSL connection, I began to realise it was a major issue for a lot of users.
Having covered almost all the threads here regarding PPC WiFi issues, I still am perplexed as to how the whole thing is successfully set up.
I concluded that it was virtually impossible; that the PC would not provide the PPC with an IP address so I would have to use some sort of application to manage the connection. However, yesterday for some reason only the omnipotent holy deities of the grandiose gods of WiFi would know, I had it working perfectly. For about 10 minutes, until I decided to disconnect to see if I could readily re-connect. My hopes were of course, dashed, and I have not had it working again since.
I have tried every combination of settings on both the laptop and the XDA to no avail, and have followed more threads and links than I can count on my fingers and toes. I've tried all the same settings I had when it was working (briefly) but still have no real success.
So basically, what's the deal with getting this damn thing working? Maybe what I need is a step by step idiot's guide on how to initially set up the wireless network on the laptop first, to make sure it has all the right settings? I'm using a Vaio running XP home (built in WiFi).
Has anyone completely resolved this problem yet? I would really like a solid, clean method of setting up the connection rather than stumbling through a million different combinations of settings and ending up with something hashed and unstable.
Many thanks for any help on this, I'm sure it's a tiresome subject for many.
......And as is always the case, as soon as you post about it you figure it out!
If anyone is still having trouble using their XDA2 to connect to a PC's ADSL via WiFi, ive got it figured!
RE: ive got it figured!
PLEASE HOW? I HAVE ALSO THE SAME PROBLEM HERE
THANKS
Me too. I have a XDA mini S.
I don't know what settings to put into the thing. I had it connected for a short while but when I went into internet explorer it started connecting to GPRS instead of WIFI to internet.
Clearly I haven't got a clue. The book is of no help either.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Think i'm connected to the internet. It doesm't seem to want a password although one is listed listed in the router. Just can't stop it going over GPRS instead of the wifi for intenet????
problem solved
Hi All
Ok heres what I did .
Connections
under my work network
set ,set up my proxy server to "this network connects to the Internet.
Then go to advanced
Under select networrks ,Network management,Set both to "my work network"
Network Card
Network adapters
"My network card connects to work
Then select the network card ie sandisk
tick Use specific ip address
type in 1 thats on your network ,It will connect but you wont be able to browse still
Then soft reboot
change from use ip adress to "server assigned ip address"
soft reboot
and bingo
Hi Community!
I have a short question for you.
How is it possible i can't connect to my wifi network at home from one day to the next? With my Nokia 5800 i can connect without any problems.
And at work i can connect to wifi with my HD2, too. Only at home i cant connect anymore. I tried resetting my router, changing the securtiy settings, channel, ssid. nothing helped. I tried setting up a static ip instead of using dhcp, but no chance. No mac filter or anything else is active. Tried to reinstall the rom several times, but as suspected it didnt work.
Like i said my nokia works at home connecting to wifi. So the error shouldnt be by my router. And since the HD2 to connects at work to wifi it also shouldnt be a problem of my hd2 :F
Always telling me "Optaining IP-Adress", so it wants to connect, password is typed in correctly, but something prevents it connecting. Usually it connects immediatly after searching for an ip adress.
So, from one day to the next wifi isnt working only at home..
Do any of you have a clue what's going wrong here?
another restart of my router solved the problem... dont ask me why.
I having some wierd problems with my universals wifi ..
I can see my homenetwork when i scan for it. My Wifi is set up to a simple WPA password and no encryption.
My Universal sees the network and i can connect to it fine. The first thing i think is strange is when connecting to it, it has automaticly checked the box saying "This network is hidden" which it is not. I then continue and the rest of the settings it sees fine. I enter my password and it connects. Fine everything is working, but then suddenly it loses its connection and now i cant connect to it anymore. If i try to reconnect it just stops and gives up and then cant see the network anymore. I have to disable and enable wifi before it can see it again but i cant connect. The only way i can reconnect, is if i hard reset the device! A reboot doesnt help. I've tried another rom, but that didnt work at all, only telling me the password was wrong even though i knew it was not.
I have tried to dissable all security on the router just to test but it doesnt work either..
What is going on here ?
EDIT:
I just tried this with a number of different networks.. Dlink routers, Open networks, HTC Hero and HTC Wildifre S as hotspots.. All doing the same.. trying to connect and then it gives up ..
EDIT 2 :
I've now installed this rom, and with that rom theres no problems.. So i guess it has something to do with the drivers in WM6 roms for uni
I've run into a weird problem. Today I got internet at my new place, and of course first thing I do is whip out my trusty mini wireless router (TendaLink w300m) to provide all of our computers with fresh wifi. The laptops are fine. But now...
My G900F refuses to connect to the wireless network. Other places were fine, no such problem, but here I get
obtaining ip address...
but here it stays. Sometimes it gives a final error "Failed to obtain IP address"..
I tried using a static IP, that did actually work as far as connecting to the network (so password error can be excluded), but I couldn't get any data / website / mail to load.
I tried restarting, and toggling the "Smart network switch" (which wasn't switched on in the first place).
I changed the channel of the router twice, to no avail.
To make it all even more unfunny, I frequently get a popup telling me "Network disabled because internet connection is slow" (although Smart Network Switch is OFF)
If anyone has a solution to this , please let me know!
Try to rule out the issue being the router, reboot it and if that doesnt solve the problem factory restore the router or change it out.

I usually just restore the router to factory settings. Beyond, that, I don't know.

The Problem was solved by analyzing the new Network properties and adjusting the router settings which were quite different from the old ones. Now all is well.
Hall,
I got a TM530, rooted with Towelroot, no modifications otherwise.
When trying to connect to phone's WiFi Hotspot im getting asked for the password, after entering it there's the message "Connecting..." for a second or so - but I won't get a connection [emoji17]
A few days ago this was no problem - I'm a bit lost here.
My phone's running with Slimkat ROM with two weeks old weekly build, didn't change anything there, too.
Changing Hotspot setup and deleting the connection from WiFi menu on the tablet led to no success either ?
Any hints anyone? I'd appreciate

Pretty common problem tethering from a phone to tablet with the native tether method due to its lack of settings. Download the app WIFItether Router by Fabio Grasso. When you set it up, under "hotspot/tethering settings" make your SSID whatever you desire, use wpa2-psk for encryption type, then set a password, and desired channel (I usually use 11). Then under "device settings" for Interface select wlan1, under method use Method 3-HostApd, under drivers select nl80211, select WiFi -g for wifi mode. Then under "tweaks" check MTU adjust and also check HostApd patch. Now go back and select "enable wifi router". That should solve your issue.
