I got some XML troubles

I think i'm gonna need an exorcist. I'm trying to fix battery xml like this:
1.decompile w/ apkmanager
2.Navigate to /res/drawable and open with wordpad stat_sys_battery
3.Customize the file
4.Recompile
5.Flash.
But after flashed,i can't see battery icons in statusbar.
This is my untouched XML. I can see battery icons in statusbar.
Code:
This is my modded stat_sys_battery. With this one i can't see battery icons in statusbar.
Code:
What can it be?!?!?
Up.

Did you delete the resources thing when recompiling? the only problem that I can see here is that the new battery pngs didn't get to be registered in the resources.xml(I'm not exactly sure with the name so) and so when the sys_stat_battery.xml calls for the pngs(it ask resources.xml if it was included and is part of the apk), resources.xml will reject the request and battery icon won't show up. Wasted almost a month of my life with the same problem before. Hope this helps.
There was someone(moderator) on the android theming thread who knows a lot about these stuff. Try asking there and post the results here.
So i only need to delete resources.arsc before compiling?

I'm not doing any themes lately but if I remember it correctly, there's an instruction to delete resources.arsc on the temporary folder(can't remember the exact name) made by apkmanager whenever you modify an XML.

xml status bar editing

I want to edit the 3g icon and other icons that appear in the status bar on my rooted incredible, can anyone point me in the right direction? ive searched google to no avail, does anyone know of any websites or tutorials i can use to learn about UI editing for android?
thanks in advance
If you're just replacing png image files you can just use 7zip to do that.

Some of the icons are in the famework.apk and others are in the SystemUI.apk all the icons will be in the drawable-hdpi folder in both apk's. Just use winrar or 7zip to extract the apks and edit whatever icons you want to edit.

[Q] How to create an Status Bar?

Hello. I need help
I need to create an Custom Status Bar, How I can create this?

Unless you're an expert at Java, know how to build android apps at a high level, you can't do it.
Your question was how to create a status bar, but i suppose you're asking "how to THEME it", right?
Well, you can use UOT Kitchen for starters. After that, you can move on to advanced theming. There are many guides for it on our forum.
Sorry, if you only want to change the icon

JUST EDIT framework-res.apk (battery) and systemUI.apk (others icon)
with change extention .apk into .zip
and extract in some folder.
then, open res>drawable-ldpi>CHANGE IMAGE THAT YOU WANT (with same resolution).
arter finish,
compress again all file that you extracted. with .zip
AND LAST,
RENAME .zip that you make, INTO .apk again:highfive::highfive::highfive:

<--- Press the Thanks button if I helped!
•open framework-res.apk using winrar or 7zip.
•go to res/drawable-ldpi
•before you drag the icons you want, double check the names of the png. make sure they are the same with the one you want to replace.
•if everything is ok drag them to drawable-ldpi
•push the framework-res.apk back to your system/app then reboot

Modded toggles icons

Hi guys... since there are no themes whatsoever for the tab 3 8.0 I decided to fumble a bit with my S4 truicon theme from a dev here on xda and change the toggles icons on the tab to those from the truicon theme.
I take no credit whatsoever for the work, all I did was copy/paste files.
Check the truicon thread (use search... pretty easy or click http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2286137 for the screens.
AS I SAID, ONLY THE TOGGLES ICONS ARE CHANGED... EVERYTHING ELSE LOOKS STOCK.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1 - DOWNLOAD THE APK FILE FROM THIS LINK: https://db.tt/xDNr8ToD
2 - REpLACE THE SYSTEMUI.APK FILE IN /SYSTEM/APP WITH THE DOWNLOADED FILE (BACKUP THE OLD ONE JUST IN CASE)
3 - CHANGE PERMISSIONS OF THE NEW FILE TO MATCH ALL THE OTHERS IN THAT FOLDER
4 - REBOOT!
