[Q] Installing Telus ROM on Fido Canada

Hi,
I am planning to install Telus rom v 4.2.2 on Fido S4 which is on Android 4.2.2 Baseband i337MVLUAMG1.
I have unlocked (SIM) the phone using unlock code and Rooted using CF auto root.
Have TWRP installed. Have made nandroid back up.
So here are the steps I am going to follow.
1) Download Official Telus Firmware (4.2.2 AMG) from sammobile.
2) Wipe to factory default using TWRP.
3) Flash Telus firmware 4.2.2 using Odin.
4) Root the phone.(CF-Auto Root)
Can someone please tell me if this is OK?
Are there any chances of bricking the device if you install telus rom on fido phone?
Just want to make it sure before I proceed.

Anyone? Am I missing anything?

Don't have to install new ROM for. Just dial *#272*your imei# and select tls for Telus
You click OK and your phone will reboot and install everything Telus.

One more Question. In future which version I have to select for updating to 4.3? Fido or Telus?

Doesn't matter which one. Just use that code again to what carrier you want. All stock 4.2.2 and 4.3 are the same . They only install with the carrier you phone is coded like the csc code ( costumer sales code)

But just go with Telus if you want just to be safe and that code doesn't work on 4.3

What was the purpose ?
I wish fido had BT tether option but it does not...
Was this the reason by any chance ? Telus offers it ?

I guess I need to wait cause don't have telus firmware downloaded.Sammobile is re-uploading all the firmwares on to other file sharing site since hotfile is no more. Any other site I can download the firmware from?

[Q] Sph-L720 - No mobile data ... Cant activate.

So here I am...that guy. I bought a Sph-L720 and I didnt check until It was too late. I think the previous owner downgraded the modem. It was running a stock rooted rom when I bought it Mk2 I believe but am not sure. I have since installed a complete mk2 stock firmware, modem, rom all inclusive which was downloaded from this forum. Anyhow any help would be appreciated in getting this thing up and running. Shows 3 bars of service.... just no data. Has a sprint sim card installed. Thanks ... - Dave(that guy)

[Q] Data won't work after upgrading to NAE via KIES?

I have learned all I know about flashing ROM's and rooting phones thanks to all of the helpful people here! I'm running the latest stock NAE, which I found as an automatic download via KIES, on my unlocked sph l720, with the StraightTalk network and AT&T SIM. Everything works great except for the data, it will toggle on, but not actually receive data.
Has anyone else came across this issue and been able to resolve it? Or any advice for a new guy? I'd really appreciate it!

Dont use the lte apn for att use the one that has cingular in it and you will be connected to hspa+/4G

Also try and reflash your moden cuz sometimes kies only flashes the software not the modem

[Q] GT-I9505 No mobile network/data after flashing Android 4.4 kitkat

My Divice: GT-I9505 Samsung S4
ROM: Google Play Edition
Country: Dominican Republic
Carrier: Orange Dominicana
Good Evening, i have this network issues since i update mi s4 to android 4.4 with odin, every time i turn on my mobile network, network go down, i can not make calls, send sms.
Now i install Google Play Edtition im flash MK9 modem to it, but it does not work properly i have to use theI phone into 2G network them in that network is stable but soon as i turn on the normal network i mean 3G network or 4G LTE it goes down...
My question is how can i go back to have my normal network, even if with a custom room???...
I read, i made my google search, i flash alot of stock rom and nothing work...

What do you mean with MDM modem? I tested 4.3 Modem on 4.4.2 and however it seams to not work. I'm Italian and I'm having network issues too after I received latest 4.4.2 Android on my i9505.

It works for 1 day an them even my imei dissapear lol :/ i just buy a new S4 I9500 that works for orange carrier here in dominican republic im gonna fix the i9505 and sale it

[Q] Urgent Help

I have an s4 -GT i9500
i rooted my device via cf-autoroot
i have philz-touch recovery
i have installed many roms : Resurrection-Remix {5.1.1}
Bliss-Pop
Cm12
all have been flashed well but i can't connect to my cellular data.
it cant connect to my sim network. So simply, I can't call, sms, or use mobile data.
I dont have the 4gLte version of S4.
Please help me out.

Flash the stock modem again. Since you have an I9500 you should be able to flash the modem through your recovery.

Well, if you search the forums you'll find a thread with nothing but firmware packages for the cell radio and WiFi. That's the modem.

Does the firmware number change if you apply a custom rom ?

Dial *#06# n see whether you still have your imei number and tell the result.
