i have a custom purekat1.0 rom ,but when i try flash blackreactor kernel it stuck at logo.i try to revert back by hell fusion but it show many error like E:can't mount/system .plz anyone help me.i really don't know wht to do now

i think purekat is aosp based rom .and for that u need to use the cm version of blackreactor kernel...hope it helps

the black reactor kernel based on purekat1.0
first tell me whether u used the purekat based on aosp or based on stock.this information can be found in the thread from where u downloaded the purekat rom.then there are 2 types of kernel==
1.for stock based rom-->this kernel can boot stock based roms.like hells fusion
2.cm/aosp->this kernel can boot cyanogenmoad or aosp based rom.
download the required version of the kernel and flash it.

I use purekat base stock n before I flash it I was on stock kernel.I want to update to purekat1.5 n I read the thread that must flash black reactor or Percy kernel first.so I flash the black reactor n I get stuck on boot.I don't know what the problem.when try revert back to stock it still show black reactor kernel on boot.plz help me,BTW just now I try wipe data n cache then reboot but still not work

if you flash hells fusion kernel it has the option to flash stock kernel
however if you have flashed black reactor cm and formatted system data cache you will now be on an ext system partition which stock kernel does not support so your phone will not boot
you will need to either use a rom and kernel that supports ext system partions like cm7 or flash stock rom via odin to convert back to rfs
if you are still on rfs you can use any stock based rom/kernel
First make sure which rom have you installed.
PureKat (AOSP)
Purekat Extreme (Stock)
Flash stock based kernels for stock based roms and cm based kernels for aosp or cm based roms.

Hells fusion supports ext4 partitions....

flash cm7 rom zip
restart
note if using a rom that is based on bieltv.3 cm7 you need to use bieltv.3 kernel else wifi and bluetooth will not work

you said you had purekats - if its the version based on aosp or cm7 then you do have a rom that is bootable on a cm7 kernel on ext

I only have purekat1.5 n I have delete purekat1.0 bcoz I have make nandroid backup,can I flash it by purekat1.5?BTW if I use Odin to flash the new baseband are my phone lost root or something else?

Repencis 3.5 advanced rom and once installed flash the new repencis kernel - fully working no bugs

Yes. it can be fix. Go to HYPERION 7 GM's Thread scroll down and find the troubleshooting guide for wifi and network fix.

i encountered your problem and found out my error :
-must be ROOT
-PARTITION SD CARD (optional)
-install ROM's via CWM
-download again the .zip rom
Questions :
1. Did u use CWM ?
You should PM the CONTRIBUTORS/THEMERS/ETC.. about your problem.

then if you want to make FREE SPACE IN INTERNAL you should download ROMODEXER

maybe the ROM wud have locked ur partition.... meaning not letting u switch between ROMS without Repartitioning....try google for that

Its a kernel problem.Try changing your kernel.
Thanks for your reply.. but if i change the kernal from percy cm#2 to white RC3 or Repencis, my phone is not booting up, it get stuck at the galaxy y logo.
if it is a stock based rom and you are on a ext4 partition from using percys kernel then switch to hells fusion #50 else flash stock rom via odin before flashing a stock based rom after using a cm7 rom
you cant use percys cm #2 on a stock based rom

purekat is build on base as AOSP..... so u will need to flash percy or black reactor since hell's fusion supports stock base roms:laugh:

not sure about purekat. I tried hells fusion on reincarnation (cm7). .device boots... but wifi & bluetooth won't work ... guess it's same for purekat
hells fusion #50 can boot cm7/aosp but it does not have the correct moduals for wifi/bluetooth for use on cm7/aosp therefore if you want a fully operational phone you need to use a kernel built for cm7/aosp like percys or black reactor
better to use cm kernel !!

hells fusion will not cause a boot loop - hells fusion can boot cm and aosp based roms but does not contain the moduals needed for wifi and bluetooth to work (it contains moduals for use on stock based only) hense why you need a cm/aosp kernel for full phone functions
I prefer u use BlackReactor . i have use it once .

like iv explained many times in this thread you cannot use hells fusion as it does not contain the wifi and bluetooth modual for use on cm7/aosp - that kernel is for stock roms only
hells fusion will boot it but you may find things start force closing on you and not work properly with not all phone functions working
you MUST use percys kernel or black reactor kernel if you are using cm7/aosp to get full phone functions - network wifi bluetooth etc
all kernels are in the dev section - a simple search and you will find it - in fact black reactor kernel is currently on page one of the dev thread so not really much searching required
and you just flash it in cwm with system mounted then reboot to recovery and format system data cache then mount system data cache then flash your rom zip

why are you using v5 of the kernel for cm/aosp rom?
please read the thread fully!!
v5 is for stock rom (doesnt work on all basebands so use v4)
cm is for cm roms and aosp
if you are using cm7 or an aosp rom you MUST use a cm kernel!!!

if you are using cm7/aosp you MUST use a kernel built for cm7/aosp

v5 and v4 == Only for stock based roms... (However, they can booth both aosp and cm7, but ur wifi or bluetooth wont work,) pick ur poison

Umm...Kuro kernel is not for CM.
What you need to do is change your baseband to DXLF1 and then flash your rom.

No. You will have to download the file and then flash it through ODIN.
You will get instructions to do the same in any thread, search for it.
Then install the kernel and rom using the correct procedure from the kernel and ROM page.
Use BlackReactor kernel (FOR CM).
