TAR file is avaialable at All things AT&T MK2 and NB1
We dont yet have a simple way to get root on NB1.

hey, sorry, i have been away from xda for a few weeks..i took the mk2 ota,,didnt like it so i treid to ODIN 4,2,2...fail of course, now i cant find a 4.3 odin ROM anywhere..can you guys help? is there a ODIN mja or mk2? or anything 4.3?? something that will get me out of the " forware upgrsde encounterd an error " screen??

comes in zip format so extract then use in odin. and using a 4.2.2 tar didn't work because you can't go back to 4.2.2 once you are on 4.3 through odin.

I am running stock AT&T 4.2.2 MF3 rooted with Motochopper, I believe.
An OTA downloaded on my device today, NC1 I guess? I knew I couldn't install it because either it would fail after detecting root, or I would potentially brick.
I wanted to update to stock NB1 or NC1 (maintaining or re-establishing root afterward).
The MF3 update threads I have found seem outdated.
Please let me know what the safest way to flash the latest stock that is rootable.

Hello, Sixftsix, I am in the same boat as you. MF3 rooted wanting to upgrade to NC1. Did it successfully work for you? The files say NB1 to NC1 not MF3 to NC1 so I was just wondering if it worked. Also what version of Safestrap did you use?

I haven't upgraded yet, I'm still confused on what is the proper/safest method.
I am not sure if we have to go from MF3 > MK2 > NB1 > NC1... or if we can go directly to NB1 with this: "NB1 STOCK -- Get to NB1 Stock from NB1 or earlier... I337UCUFNB1 4.4 Stock Odin Tar & System Dump", then use the NB1 to NC1 method.
Let me know if you attempt anything and the results, I will do the same. I did lot of reading with no clear answers.
If anyone can confirm the best method, I would appreciate your help!

Apparently you need to upgrade to MK2, root, then do MK2 to NB1, and then NB1 to NC1. Its a process. I think I'll just stick with 4.2.2 until a root method is available for KitKat then I'll just upgrade to KitKat instead of flashing because I always have bad luck when it comes to soft modding...

If you want NB1, you can flash straight to it with the ODIN package. If you want root, you can flash to either MK2 or NB1 but going to NB1 adds in the downgrade steps.

Thank you! One question. I use Linux so I wouldn't be using ODIN I would be flashing with Heimdall. Same thing right?

Slightly different. You'll have to extract the partitions to flash from the ODIN file since it doesn't work with ODIN packages directly. Alternatively, you could try JODIN3.
I got problem I am stucked at ODIN mode, I tried several times to root but failed all methods. I got OTA update to NC1 I couldn't avoided when I noticed was already done. Then I try to downgrade from NC1 to MK2 then all got screw. Ive been trying to ODIN firmware with no results. Also try kies recovery with not results. I am runnig out options. My screen looks like this
Odin Mode.
SGH-I337
Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Official
Knox Kernel Lock: 0x0
Knox Warranty Void: 0x0
CSB-Config-LSB: 0x30
Write protection: enable
eMMC burst mode enabled
When I restart says that upgrade did not finish that I should use KIES recovery.

Will this method work using Mobile Odin?
Works on Odin PC as far as we know. I was not aware of mobile version.

As far as I know mobile Odin isn't for locked bootloaders, but I'm not sure.

For some reason, I can't download any of the files list to downgrade from 4.4.2 NC1 to obtain root. You wouldn't happen to have them on dropbox would you? I really would like to get my root access on this device. I'd be happy with Jelly Bean so long as I had root. Thanks any and all help with this matter would be greatly appreciated

Hi
I just want to ask some help.
So fitst of all I live in Philippines but my phone is SGS4 AT&T i337.
So I planned to install custom recovery and I have searched some bids and I came up to goomanager.
I'd follow the instruction very well and it was success.. But when I boot to recovery mode. It was directly on download mode. Lately I found out that my recovery was destroyed etc.
So now I don't have a recovery mode and my root access was also gone.
So does anyone help me how to fix it?
Please help. I've search soany thread non of it help..
I think I also tried the terminal emulator thing..
You need to use Odin. Do you know what firmware version your on? You need to use that version in Odin

If you're sure you have an i337 and not an i337m if it were my device I'd update to nb1 firmware by flashing the nb1 tar file in Odin
