Hey Everyone,
I have recently bought a new Note 3 from Optus in Australia.
I want to root my device but it appears it is a very uncommon model (SM-N9007) and i cant seem to find any info on how to ROOT this model?
Has one one rooted this model or know how too?
Thanks!

This a very new model of Note 3 so you might have to wait till there will be a solution for it.
In the meantime, could you please help me by installing the app Phone INFO ★Samsung★ and post some screenshots here.
If it is possible try to enter the menu [Note 3] Fake Detector and see what does it say.
Download link in my signature.
Thank you.

Thank you very much.
As I have said, this is a very new model so my app has not been updated. This is my app's issue.
I will update my app soon and will need your help to test it again.
Thanks.

Sorry to high-jack the thread.
Does anyone know if its possible to flash the modem from the 9007 to the 9005?
I'm an Optus customer but I bought my Note 3 outright on launch day and I wouldn't mind making use of/playing with
the Optus 4G+ service.
Also the 9007 is running JB. Could I still use the modem with KK?
CF_Auto_Root
I have my fingers crossed that Chainfire will be able to get his hands onto the stock firmware and hopefully release CF_Auto_Root files for the N9007 model.... I want to root this thing !
cf-auto-root N9006
Not sure if this helps but I used the cf-auto-root for the n9005 on my chinese n9006 and it worked!
The N9007 seems to be a snapdragon as well so it might just work! But you'd have to risk it.:silly:

Any idea if the 9007 modem will work with 9005?
Or is there more to get 4G Plus support?

I can't say for sure, but I'm suspecting there is different hardware in it.
I've just picked up a Note 3 from Optus, and after many failed attempts to put some N9005 ROMs on it, I've realised that it's an N9007.
With the ROMs I've been trying, everything works but the connection to the carrier itself. I've flashed ROMs for years on many devices, so not a newbie.
My conclusion (that I'm trying to confirm via research) is that the modem is different, and N9005 modem files don't work on the N9007. So my guess would be vice versa.

No problems.
I suspect that when there's any official N9007 ROMs released, the modem files should be able to be extracted, and grafted into an N9005 ROM. Checking Sams Mobile for ROMs each day...

Hi guys, my dad is bring a n9008 back from China. It has the qualcom 800 cpu onboard. I have done alot research on this phone, and only found the guide to root and flash recovery. So my question is: is it possible to flash roms made for other variants( such as n9005) onto n9008? Since the n9008 won't support the wifi calling from TMO, i would rather put a CM or AOSP on it.

as always, you got your phone from china, get help there, in other words, if you want support, get yor phones in your own country, imagine this, you will get a warranty also, is not that amazing?, yes you save some money buying overseas, or from a no one knows about seller, but, at the end, you get no support, think abot that in the future,

well i got the phone as a gift. so its not my choice at first place.
so far i'm able to install all of the n9005 roms(x note, omega, lidroid) and everything works flawlessly.
the tmobile rom can be installed normally, but i just cant turn on the wifi( it stucks at turning on screen)
anyone got a solution to that?
Now you can install a CM11 ROM!
I too have been given a GN3 as a gift but it's the N9008 model.
I tried flashing the latest N9005 KK stock firmware, but I had no luck.
Do you know if there's a possibility of "changing" the model to a N9005? Hardware wise I believe they are exactly the same?
I imagine LTE is also not on this particular model? Am I correct to say that all Snapdragons are capable of having LTE? Would it be the firmware that "enables" LTE?
I don't really want to be on the Chinese firmware.
I've rooted the device and got gapps on their, but I'd rather a proper international firmware.
If anybody can help, it'd be great.

Hey everyone.
I'd like to ask what's the differences between the n900w8 and the n9000-n9005?
I live in Canada and I would like to buy the note 3 but the only model offered here is the n900w8 and I don't know if there is any support here or i can flash different roms/kernels etc.
If I can't I will order an n9005 from Europe or USA.
Thanks!

About N900W8
it s one of the LTE edition of Note3
it means thr s same support for it like N9005
But thr might be difference between date of update or something like this
but kernel version and ROM will be same unless firmware or some minor update
So don't worry about buying it
:good:

If it's the snapdragon model then it may be possible to use 9005 roms, I wouldn't bank on it too much though as there is obviously differences in kernels, modem and firmware though.
Has anyone tried flashing 9005 roms on 900w8 ?
Yes cause hardware is same but u will have same kernel but rom maybe different

hey guys,
i recently traded my korean s4 lte-a phone for a galaxy note sm-n9005. i am not certain where it is from originally, as the guy who has the phone isn't very smart about phones.
my main question/concern is how can i upgrade to kit kat while making sure that it is compatible with the SK Telecom network in Korea? I am currently in Korea and would like to root and upgrade the ROM. Would I need to use the SK Telecom stock rom (it is a different model than what I have) and get it to work on my sm-n9005? Or would I need to mess with the settings on ODIN when I run the new stock rom through odin?
Here is some info about my phone. It DOES currently work with the Korean network, although the signal is weaker than my old S4.
basically, can someone tell me which country/network firmware i can use for roms and whatnot? do i have the option of both a korean firmware and foreign one?
thanks in advance!

A little search would have shown you some apps for that, for instance:

From your pics the main (and most pressing) advice I can give is to stop immediately any updates AND security updates - if you are MI2 you can probably root with URDLV and keep knox 0x0! Read more around about that.

You might want to mask over the IMEI - I doubt it can be easily used but that is the normal way to do things here on XDA.
The results are a little fascinating - it looks like an early build - and the part that the knox warranty was not yet present is even more interesting - DEFINITELY do not upgrade anything for the moment! Also I would bet that you do not have any region lock, so I doubt that you have any major reason to upgrade in a hurry. Even if you DO upgrade at some point you should first save your (rare, non-knox) firmware/bootloader (that version is not listed for instance at http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/?model=SM-N9005&pcode=XEF#firmware and without saving it you might never be able to return to it). Also the bootloader might be interesting in the "fight against the knox warranty flag".
From what I know SK Telekom is using a model called here N900S and 2G and 3G should be perfectly compatible with the current modem that you have. For LTE the EU model is listed with 800/850/900/1800/2100/2600 while the N900S has 700/850/1800 - so except the 700MHz band it might still work on LTE with SK!
There is also a local thread for those original models from South Korea:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2484602
If you have some time it might also be interesting to go in 'download mode" and get a picture from there - here is a picture on how it looks with bootloaders that have knox.

The LTE IS working with SK, as well as the network. I'm just so lost about what kind of custom roms/kernels I can use that are compatible with my phone.
When you say backup my bootloader, how do I do that? EFS backup? Remember, my phone isn't rooted yet. Do you think I could use any N9005 4.3 root?

I am glad to hear about LTE! (it means that the 700MHz band is not that essential).
Custom ROMs might be a little further away (N9005 by the way, when done OK it might work with many N9005 ROMs), IMHO there are other things that can be done first that would make your phone better/faster.
If you want to root here is the sequence that I suggest:
- save everything that you have on the phone (if you have a LOT of stuff - to Google, Samsung, Samsung Kies or local with Helium)
- make certain that reactivation lock is OFF
- factory-reset the phone
- disable any update (say that you don't agree with the terms when asked) and disable any security update (that one is a separate setting in Security)
- use Saferoot first to try to root:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2565758
- if it works the very next step after getting root is to save as much as possible from the original firmware (you might also need to install busybox before that):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50011586&postcount=26
- if that succeeds and you have a 256MB debrick.bin please compress it (7z is pretty effective but ZIP will also be OK) and please upload it somewhere so that people that are trying to crack knox will have another thing to look at! :good:

Hi all,
I just bought N900A, but I am a bit confused.
What is what. I am in Europe. And my N900A have 4.3 version and it says there is no update.
In Europe I see usually 9000 & 9005 models.
Also, I see that N900A have different usb charger than I am used (some usb 3.0 charger)....Is this same on all Note 3?
What is the "exynos" version ?
Can anyone tell me how and which rom should I install for europe.
Give me as much as possible informations as you can guys
I am not a new in flashing or rooting, but I need a starting point

Ok. I understand. But is it possible to install ROM from the EU models on this N900A model ?
I see forum is splitted, but I really would like to have EU rom, and not the US one

Try to answer some of your questions
- N900A is Note 3 for AT&T network. While N900 and N9005 are international models. N900 uses Exynos chipset from Samsung, while N9005 and N900A use Snapdragon chipset from Qualcomm.
- You can install firmware from EU models (N9005 model)
- Because you are now in the oversea region, you may not get the OTA update. You can, however, download the stock firmwares manually and flash using Kies or Odin. You can check for the latest firmware by installing Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app --> open and press Menu --> select 'Firmware Browser'.
So, all N9005 roms are ok for.my N900A? I am right not on 4.3
What are your experiences. Should I upgrade to 4.4.2?
Not all. AFAIK do NOT use firmware for N9005 Hong Kong (TGY) and Taiwan (BRI) regions. Other regions should be ok.
I personally still on stock 4.3.
I want to use europe version. Not the one for us 4.3 or 4.4.2 however. If it works

Oh..its all ok. My fault
So I was wondering if this is possible. My phone (A510F running lollipop 5.1.1) is locked to a carrier but I was planing on flashing an unbranded 6.0.1 (from Italy). Marshmallow will eventually come to my country but I just can`t wait anymore. Will flashing this firmware brick anything ?? I am well aware that the phone will remain locked to my carrier, since the lock has to do with the phone`s imei number, but is anything else going to be affected ? Anyone had a similar experience ? Your answers are really appreciated.
Bad idea, never flash unbranded firmware on a locked phone as it leads to all sorts of problems. Get turn phone unlocked first and then u can flash any firmware.

hey i got my note 4 (N910P) from Texas and brought it to my home country India so i just read the message but i wanted to confirm that if i flash my sprint note 4 (N910P) with a different country rom or any other rom then will it be causing any problem ? i have unlocked it but i am now facing the issues with the carrier featured applications so it is unlocked and ya of course i will keep the model no. in mind for finding the rom then it will be good to go right if i flash it with the same model no. the country doesn't matter ? also tell me how can i become sure of that it is unlocked
TIA dude

why would you ask Note 4 questions in A Series threads when the Note 4 threads are at least 10x more active? Besides, no one will know the answer here anyway.
