I tried it and it still receives small MMS files
can anyone help me?
Are you and your brothers on the same network? If not your provider may be compressing the data.
Have you tried saving the picture and opening it through your regular picture viewer app. When you receive an MMS you can save all the "objects" seperately. Like the text object, the picture object, the audio object. I do this with any picture MMS I receive. This will also allow you to zoom the picture if needed.
Yes we are on the same network
but i fixed the problem
i set the MMS registry to match his and now its working
thank you all!

MMS
Sorry I don "t get it.
I can not send any pics or vids taken with my phone. I have tried to send them as text, gmail, and yahoo mail. I get the same message every time.
"File is to big to attach".
I have played with the camera settings and set the camera from the out of box setting of 8M resolution to 1M. Is there something I am missing?
I don't know about video, but you can specify resoltion of pictures. Try smaller ones until you succeed. Alternatively, you can download k9 mail and see if you get the same error. Good luck!
I have the same problem with MMS but not in gmail. Ive never tried emailing a video though.
I think I have found that if I stay the message and then attach it works over viewing in gallery then sharing. Might be vice versa but i have noticed a difference
I use handcent mms and it automaticaly resizes the image so it can be sent, but it always gives me an error that mms not sent but it always does get sent, probably just a bug.
whats MMS? The vid I have tried to send is 8M. I have turned the size / resolution down to 1M.
I have a friend that has the same phone and his is out of the box at 8M he sends stuff all the time with no issues. Is there a gmail setting i am missing?
I know there is a thread regarding blurry MMS but now when i receive MMS i dont even see any image.
Anyone else?
I have noticed this problem since the phone came out. I know there was a mod for GS3 to stop the compression, but I have yet seen one made for this phone.
I made a similar post over in the Sprint GS5 forum and someone suggested to use a third party SMS app. Unfortunately that didn't stop the compression.
Does anyone know of a solution to this?
Hello, I don't get where this is happening to you? Is it through MMS ? Or a specific chat app?
Yes, MMS. Im using the stock messaging. The images compress to the point where it is very grainy and just awful looking. I was just wondering if there was a way or a mod to stop the compression once added to a message.
Depending on what provider you use, you may not be able to fix it. When I was on Verizon I could not get a better than about 20kb picture to send. Nothing I did from custom Roms to modded apps changed that.
I could change it with sprint, and I dont have to change it with tmo, it already sends really good pics stock. They're still compressed but they're usable.
They Textra sms/mms app. Then go manual MMS settings, and change the value of "largest mms size available". Try 300kb, 600kb and maybe 1mb. But be aware that your carrier will have a limit as well, so if you choose a value in you texting app that is over theirs, the mms will not be delivered.
