That issue is covered in the deadly venom thread.
It's a Google post services issue. The latest update hoses themed gmail. Try uninstalling updates to Google play services then try reinstalling gmail. You can always copy the apk from the ROM zip to the system/app folder fix permissions and reboot.

I'm still getting the issue of the play store saying the package is not signed please uninstall and reinstall through play store. An I using the wrong gmail apk
And I was suppose to do the app permission?
Easiest fix is to just uninstall the themed version that came with venom, reboot your phone, then re-install Gmail from playstore.

You can't reinstall apps with titanium that you deleted, at least I think not..
Use odin to go back to stock. You really shouldn't be messing with things there if you don't know what your doing
lol I know I know. is there some way to put the app back where it was?

Not quite sure what the OP did... but I had to wipe my phone once... downloaded Titanium again [rooted first of course], and had my phone back to how it was.
Worked awesome for me.

As many of you may have seen on the main XDA website someone was able to port the gingerbread youtube app over to 2.1, i tried downloading it and deleted the stock youtube app and tried to install this with Super Manager but no luck, has anyone else tried?
I would like to see this working
Worked for me
I followed the instructions for in the Vibrant Thread and got this working.
Never used adb shell before but not hard at all.

This worked for me. Don't have a computer with adb on it at work. Pretty nice upgrade to Youtube.
EDIT: By the way, this is NOT a Gingerbread app, it's an upgraded Froyo app. Gingerbread isn't even released yet, AFAIK.
I installed it during my morning commute straight from the phone. Works great. I have to get used to it after using the old one but this is more like using the website. It's nice.

Only available to those running 2.2
couldn't get it to work, but it works now!
Mine was working just fine and when I tried to open it again just now all I get is FC.
It was fun while it lasted, I guess. Good thing I still have the original youtube apk.

Hey XDA,
I recently upgraded to JSS 4.3 from 4.2.2 with franco kernel. My issue is that I'm unable to delete system apps using es file explorer, it shows the toast notification "file is read only". I've given it SuperSU permissions, so that shouldn't be the error. I've tried using TWRP to fix permissions as well.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

Worked! Thank you very much, this was a very useful and detailed guide. +++1
As a side not, it says Uninstall failed BUT the uninstall appears to actually work. Assuming this is just an odd ES glitch.
Thanks again Andy!

Just reported this minor glitch.
Your welcome.
EDIT: Looks like binary misreporting, I know a method which can fix this.
It is to delete has it was BUT for the checking part the command "ls" gets used to check if that is removed.

You must have Root. Then through the file manager. I use Total Commander. Delete and replace immediately. Set rights.
Thanks for reply but still not work, n5 rooted
You copied it to the correct location?
Hangouts:
Copy to: "system/app"
Gmail:
Copy to: "system/priv-app"
A set right?
In the first post completed the installation files for installation via CWM / TWRP(.zip). The original application must be uninstalled.
Thanks for your help it working. Thanks again.

Sounds strange, I don't have this problem.
I personally use this app to remove the bloatware: SystemCleanup
If that doesn't help, you can try to disable it? (not to remove).

I find this to be the easiest way to remove bloatware, with root explorer. I can copy them somewhere as a backup and remove them manually.
system/app and system/priv-app

Check your Playstore settings. It shouldn't make a difference, but it happened to me once on my Note 2 after installing a new ROM. Settings>auto update apps. Check "do not auto update".
