Hi, so Im kinda new to the smart watch thing and I have an issue. I recently purchased a ZGPAX S5 on ebay the other day, seller said he tried installing a launcher and soft bricked the device. Upon receipt of the item I found that when powering on the device, it would freeze at the splash screen. After manually booting into TWRP, I found that there was no OS installed. I have been googling solutions, and found the dump files for SPTools, but the device is only recognized for a moment and then disconnects. Because of this I cannot use SPTools to flash. I cant find any other solutions besides the SPTools suggestion.
PLEASE HELP!!!
THANKS!!!

Load backup of the operating system on an external SD card and plug into the zgpax, then navigate to External SD and restore...
If you sent me the watch i could ADB sideload a TWRP restore and have you up and running... pm me if you want

Thank You so much for the quick reply!
I tried your solution but the instal failed, its seems that almost everything in twrp fails, wipes, partitions, formats, fix permissions, and to top it all off. the screen is only half the size, the left half specifically, making it impossible to read the labels on the buttons, as they overlap and go "offscreen" , and twice as hard to select anything, any ideas on what might be the issue?

U can also try reflashing the recovery first and then the s5 zip file. Otherwise the only thing i can think of is using adb side load to flash

First I want to say there is a lot of information on this site, I have about 20 tabs open right now with threads that I think could help me, but I can not seem to put everything together.
I used the tutorial on nexusshacks to try and unlock my Nexus S. I first had to figure out how to get the drivers working, which kind of work on my laptop, as in I can see the phone in my computer, but I still get errors about some driver when I plug the phone into my laptop.
But on my desktop I can't get it to do anything after the first round of driver error messages.
I have Vista on my laptop, and Win7 on my desktop.
But now that I have that out of the way, I have been looking for some Odin thing to fix my phone. But I have no idea what is what and when I think I found what I need the links don't work.
I have:
Basebond version # I9020UCKD1
Bootloader Version# I9020XXKA3
My phone locks on the Google screen with the unlocked symbol.
I want to unlock and root it so that I can put MIUI on again, like I had on my N1.
This is proving much more difficult then the N1 though.
Any help would be great,
Thanks,
When the lock icon appears the phone is unlocked. You don't need root to install MIUI. Just get cwm recovery for your device, flash it via adb, navigate into custom recovery, mount sd card, copy miui on the device, wipe everything, install miui from sd card.
Get drivers from pdanet.

ok I got drivers from pdanet, but I still can not seen the device in my computer.
I managed to get CWM recovery v3.0.2.4 on my phone and I am in it.
But now all the phone does it go into CWM recovery screen.
I can not see the phone from my computer, so can not place a zip on it to try and install from zip.
And no actual sd card means I can not just take it out and pop it into my computer
Did hou mount sdcard in mount&storage than went to mount usb storage?

Phone had been rooted, installed TWRP, downloaded the ROM I wanted and put it on external SD card... good so far?
Rebooted into recovery, made sure ROM and gapps were in the correct folder, wiped everything accordingly...The *contents* in the folder in which the ROM and gapps were placed were deleted. The folder its self was not, nor were any other folders or their contents in the mother folder.
Any clues? Now I'm sitting here stuck in either recovery or download mode whichever I so choose and the computer cannot identify the phone for me to transfer files over.

Odin back to stock ROM.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337
You could uninstall and reinstall the USB drivers and use a USB port that directly connects to the motherboard (back of the PC) and try flashing stock again via Odin. Or, head down to Walmart and grab a micro sd card to place your rom, gapps, backups, etc on. I highly...HIGHLY recommend using a micro sd card if you plan on living the rooted life
How about taking out the external sd card, plug into computer and transfer rom and gapps onto card, put card back into phone and then reboot back into recovery.

This is your best bet. Otherwise you could adb push the ROM and gapps to your sd. But if you're not set up for adb, that's a lot of work.

Thanks guys for all the information. I have been having issues with installing the drivers correctly (Win8) but Kies seems to work well for the most part. I decided to open Kies and do the emergency restoration and it's back to normal now.
Question: If one were to restore it via Kies, could another model number be searched for and installed? ie the i9500 or i9505 firmware? Just a thought.
Anyway, thanks again... oh and I do have a micro sd card. I came from the Skyrocket and flashed probably half a million times lol. This is what threw me for a loop, deleting the ROM from inside the folder but not the folder, nor anything else on the sd card.

I always do this. It will save you time to make sure you keep a hard copy of your main roms on your PC. And have a way to transfer them to your mini sd (old phone, usb device, or mini to full size adapter. As most PC's have a full size slot. This method has saved me countless hrs.. Flashed about 15 roms on my new S4 and haven't even downloaded Oden.. But I've had to use this method twice. Works great.

My sprint LG G2 was boot looping into TWRT after I accepted an OTA.
I've read several posts, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2477595 and this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448960,
the problem I get is I can not get into download mode, well, I did enter it, but it stuck at 0%, and my computer don't recognize it. Can not find the phone in "devices", installed the driver and still no avail. BTW, when I boot into TWRT, my computer can recognize the android device and ADB works then.
Since I cannot get past the download mode, I can not use the LG flash tool.. it says "LG USB/Parallel lock key is not detected".
Any suggestion is deeply appreciated.

I tried, use ADB while the phone is in TWRT, went through and restarted, still boot into TWRT.
The command line in TWRT will pop up an error message saying "not enough space", although I do have enough space. So it didn't work either.
Sounds like you just need to keep messing with it until you can get it to recognize it in download mode and go back to stock. What Windows version do you have? i had some issues with 8 but 7 worked fine.

Well, that Fix clear FOTA with zeros and it should end with "not enough space", this is normal.
I guess when your phone restarted into download mode and got stuck on 0%, it already overwrite maybe part of system partition, this is why only download or recovery works.
Did you made any nandroid backup before? If yes, restore at least boot & system from it. It should help, so you can boot normally. If you do not have any backup, well, maybe some other fellow Spring user can give u his boot & system backup files so you can restore them.

I used the fix from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448960
except that I used the sprint .tot file. (http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+G2/Stock/Sprint+LS980/)
Did you try to reinstall the drivers or use a different cable?
I encountered the same issue last night. I reinstalled the Verizon united drivers and rebooted my machine. The next time that I connected the device in download mode, device manager picked up the device. I had to re-run the LG tool, but it eventually progressed past 0% and my issue was fixed. You can reinstall the verizon drivers using the following link.
http://wacomalt.com/dropbox/LGG2/StockRevert/LG VZW_United_WHQL_v2.11.1.exe
I'm having the same issues with D802b after doing the 60mb OTA update. My phone didn't get a chance to actually do the download as on first restart it just went straight into TWRP and I haven't been able to get back since.
It's just looping back into TWRP each time. I've now completely wiped all parts of the phone including the internal SD card, I've even re-installed a new kernel and rom (The custom one I was using before this happened, from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2505682) from an attached USB (sd card reader) with successful installs through TWRP (including wiping cache etc), still reboots into TWRP on restart. I've also done a hard reset that was supposedly successful, still boots into TWRP.
Same as the OP, it won't 'install itself' properly in windows while in TWRP mode or in 'Software Download' mode (turn on with up and down buttons pressed down and plug data cable in). I've tried in vain to hunt down a specific D802 inf as pointing it at the universal driver didn't detect either.
I have installed the Android SDK, LG Suite, LG Universal drivers. I've then tried the B2CAppSetup (which works, but won't detect the device). I've then tried the FlashTool 1.0.54 and it gets all the way through but can't communicate with the device.
The only thing I haven't managed to do yet is to decompress the official kdz into a zip so I can flash it through TWRP. Haven't had much luck with LGExtract as of yet.
Rather baffled actually, as I'm sure the OP is.
Any thoughts?

I tried that method many times and it does not work on the Sprint version. If you read through the thread you'll noticed that others with Sprint devices can not get that method to work.
The only method that worked for me was to use the LG Flash tool and flash the Sprint tot file and follow the instructions for the Verizion method for going back to stock.

Not really sure if this would've solve your problem but here's my possible theory to why you couldn't get it to work:
I was in the same situation. Took the OTA update and was boot looping into TWRP. Just like you, nothing in TWRP would fix it. I think you probably panicked and rush through the instructions and forgot some important steps. Make sure you did not install the Verizon driver by accident because that will cause problems with your Sprint phone not being properly detected by your computer. I did panicked and started to try to many things and somehow got a copy of the Verizon driver and installed it. ADB was able to see my phone but when I tried to sideload something through TWRP it would generate an error. I found out that I had both drivers(LG USB driver and the Verizon USB driver) installed and after removing the Verizon USB driver my computer was able to detect my phone properly. It's really important that after making any changes or installations of drivers you will need to reboot your PC to get the new changes to take effect.
You got the "LG USB/Parallel lock key is not detected" error is because you forgot to copy and overwrite the "MegaLock.dll" that's located at "C:\LG\LGFlashTool" directory.
To get into download mode you just need to press the +volume button only(do not hold or press the power button) and plug in the USB cable that's attached to your computer and Download Mode should come on. It will stay on 0% until the LG Flash tool flashes the Sprint stock rom onto the phone.
Once I got the phone to come up in Download Mode I had to go into Device Manager and find the device and then change the COM port to COM 41 then everything went smoothly as the instruction indicated. If you were not able to change the COM to COM 41 then it will never work.
If you're not sure that you have all the files then this is where I got mine from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2486738&page=7
or
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47849315&postcount=9
After I got the file above I followed the directions for the Verizon method below:

Yikes. Sounds like a locked bootloader. Verizon likes to throw in as many security checks as possible in their ****ed bootloaders I am so sick of their shet. No need to panic. There are several ways to return back to normal. Did you install safe strap once you rooted? If so, pull battery out, replace and reboot into safestrap. Click the wipe setting and then you wipe settings to an operable state of operation.

Actually, thought of something easier. Before you power phone up... hold the menu button, volume up button and then push power button together while still holding the other 2 buttons. This will start the phone up in recovery mode. Do a factory reset from this screen. You will lose your app data however you can recover the apps via Google play store. This way you'll also keep root. Doing the Odin recovery will lose root and restore to fresh out of box condition.

Question for you. Before you do any of this, did you try and reboot again and see what happens? Sometimes the phone does certain system checks via boot and may require a couple of minutes to do its thing. I would do this before you factory reset. Maybe it needs a moment or two. Give that a try before you do anything that will compromise your data and apps.

Looks like you may need to do a reset. Then, once you are reset install backup. This way you'll have some of those apps. Also, factory wipe will not delete SD card.
Yo, even *IF* you accidentally wipe your data, you're not completely out of luck. Once you get your device up and running again, I saw a guide on here once on how to mount your phone's internal nand as a harddrive on Windows and use one of those data forensic tools to recover all the deleted data. This may not work for some of your apps but you *will* get all of your screenshots/pictures/whatever files back! If ya want a can go back and look for this.

You're in luck, I found a boatload of forums you can look at! The popular choice among these is using Recuva, but all are different ways to go about it. Check these out:
Root app methods/Recuva Basics (NOOB FRIENDLY): http://www.alliance-rom.com/wiki/recover-deleted-files/
XDA Method (Windows): http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...de-internal-memory-data-recovery-yes-t1994705
MuhammadAG method (Linux): http://mohammadag.xceleo.org/mounting-your-android-devices-internal-storage/
My suggestion (Try this first with Recuva): Flash your phone back to stock, reroot (using Framaroot or other non-invasive method), get terminal emulator (*NOT* through Play Store, don't even set up Google accounts, this will potentially overwrite data), in emulator get su and type "setprop persist.sys.usb.config mass_storage" and see if that pops the cap. Samsung is stubborn tho and will not usually let this one fly. It might fly if you happen to install some other than stock rom.
Sorry that this is a lot of info... weigh your options!!
Best of luck,
Please do say thanks!

Hi,
The device is rooted by default.
Still waiting for custom rom. Seems it will take a time.
Can anyone please provide me with a backup of a stock recovery image to cs918 plus? I have replaced the original one with TWRP and now I cannot update the device with new firmware because I cannot find the stock recovery anywhere.
You can easy make a backup copy of stock recovery with Flashify app then put it into the internet and give me a link so I can download it and flash it into my CS918 plus.
Thanks in advance guys!
Please help
I can't upgrade my firmware either cuz I can't even figure out how to get into recovery, I'll get you a copy of stock recovery when I am home tomorrow.

To flash a new firmware use that instruction:
To get a new firmware type in google: "csrk3288p 20150609", enter the link location and download the file from the web site.
(Unfortunately I cannot put the exact link because I am a new user)
Then put the unpacked downloaded file into the main directory of your external sd card (/mnt/external_sd/) and change the file name from t031_8723bs_CSQ_splaire_20150609.img on update.img.
Then turn on the device but first hold down the button at the bottom of device and keep holding it until you willl get into recovery or install the "Reboot recovery" app.
Then you can choose "data/factory reset" but you don't have to - be careful that will erase all your apps and data installed but will not erase your external sd card.
Then choose "update rkimage from external storage" to flash new firmware.
PS. To navigate in recovery I'm using external keyboard connected to one of USB ports.
If you will have any troubles just ask.
I would be grateful for the stock recovery image for CS918 PLUS device.
Does anyone know if there even is a Source drop for this device ? What methods are used to flash a new rom/firmware ?
I don't have the device but can look at the code.

I don't have the firmware of cs918 plus, but I know how to flash the firmware. I think the procedure is same with cs918 and all rockchip based android tv box.
Using the RKBatch Tool to flash the firmware.
1. Connect to your computer with micro usb cable when device is off
2. Hold reset and power on
3. If one of connected device turn green, browse to the firmware (*.img)
4. Press "Restore" button and wait. Remember "Restore" button, not "Upgrade"

Can't you pull the recovery from the firmware update IMG? I figured out how to update firmware from SD card but used a app called reboot to get into recovery because there's no button on the bottom of my device. That firmware from 0609 called splaire is horrible as is the 2nd newest firmware. I with I had never updated mine it was better before...
I just spent an hour trying to get the recovery for u using flashify, it says it backed it up to SD card but its nowhere to be found on it, it says it backed up to dropbox but the folder it created on Dropbox is empty... Any other way to backup the recovery for u?

Edit: finally got rkbatch to recognise the unit, fixed now.
Glad to help. My unit is completely bricked now it seems. I upgraded to the June 29 firmware and a lot of functions on the remote stopped working so I wanted to downgrade so I tried to reboot to recovery but root was lost with this update.... So I tried the rkbatch method but I could never get the green connected to show up. I gave up after half an hour and plugged it into my TV now I have no signal I can't even get anything to show up on my TV...super stressed out now...
