[Q] Extract Background Image of APK File - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

I am trying to extract a background image from a GO SMS Theme and customize it. I looked all through the res folder of the APK and the image that was used as the background that I want was nowhere to be found. Anyone have an idea of where the image could be located?

Ive looked into this, i dont know how to opep them, but to replace them with other images, just get the image you want to replace it with and rename it .pro instead of .png
It's a secure png created with a nokia or something sdk. A trick I used to view them was to rename them to .png . Put that on my sdcard and then look at them through gallery

[Q] Lockscreen not working after modification.

Hi,
I have a Defy and I am running MIUI 2.4.13 on it.
I was trying to modify certain part of the V4 lockscreen and after i was done when i tried to import this modified lockscreen to the themes it simply wont show up anywhere.
Here are the steps that i followed to do the required changes:
1. Renamed (changed extension) of the lockscreen file from .mtz to .zip
2. Extracted the contents to a folder.
3. Renamed the lockscreen file to lockscreen.zip
4. Extracted the contents of lockscreen file to a folder (folders name was lockscreen)
5. Deleted the lockscreen.zip file
6. Changed the images as required with appropriate ones (images were exactly the same except for the color of images)
7. Compressed the contents of lockscreen folder to a zip file and renamed it to "lockscreen"
8. Again compressed the contents of the parent folder to a file and renamed it to "xxxxxxx.mtz"
And then finally when i tried to use this file, nothing showed up in the themes area. I dont see my lockscreen over there.
I tried doing the above using winzip, winrar and even 7zip. Nothing works.
I just want to know whats going wrong.
Thank you.
Could it be some permission issue?
I wonder

[Q] stat-bar

How to change status bar icons on stock odex?
There is no bad choises. Only bad results.
deodex the rom first
then root phone
extract systemui.apk to your pc
change apk extention to .zip
use winrar to extract zip
goto res/drawable-ldpi
change any png not ending in .9 keeping all file names the same
rezip everything
change extention back to apk (you will have to enable show file extentions in folder options in control panel)
put in flashable zip
flash in cwm with system mounted
iv explained this a few times now so search next time
also this method is only for changing png images - do not use it to edit anything else like xml files - you will need to decompile with apktool for that

Huawei P9 EVA-L09 EMUI 5.0 Hwthemes folder

I somehow deleted the preview files of themes in the Hwthemes folder. I am looking for the stock preview files in the Hwthemes folder. I would appreciate it if someone could upload a stock zip of the Hwthemes folder

What do you mean by the stock preview?

@hamzio7 If you were to navigate to Internal Storage>Hwthemes>.cache, you would see all your installed themes' folders, for example, Default.hwt. Inside Default.hwt, there is an XML file and 2 folders, Preview and wallpaper. Both these folder supposed to contain files related to the theme but mine are empty due to cleaning up some files with an app. I cannot customise a theme within the themes app as a result. So I'm looking for atleast the stock files in these folders that originally come with the os
You don't need the files from .cache from anyone here.
As the name of this folder already tells you is this just a space for the files to sit in after the theme manager looked through the HWT files searching for the preview images.
So it's actually common that as soon as you open the theme manager the .cache should be filled again.
If that shouldn't be the case then simply head to Me, then Customize and start looking through the given options as you would customize your theme right now.
In theory, the theme manager should have generated the preview images again and should have moved them into the .cache folder.
You would think that but it's not the case. Those files are never repopulated, in my case atleast.
