Am using Gmail v4.6 on Android 4.2.2 (rooted). Looking for an older version of the Gmail app that did not have "conversation view" or had the option to disable it. I found v4.0.5 and downloaded it but can't figure out if it has the option to disable conversation view. I think I'll install it later and give it a try.
But if anyone has an older APK I would appreciate it. Thanks.
After freezing the current version of Gmail using Titanium, I installed the 4.0.5 APK using ES Explorer but it says "x Application not installed". Did not work. Not sure why.
Realized I need to uninstall the previous version before installing the new version. I guess "freezing" doesn't cut it. Anyway tried 4.0.5 and also 2.2 and both still have "conversation view" that can't be disabled. Guess I'm going back to K9 for e-mail. Hate conversation view.

Please dont tell me to look at the downloads tab, because i know that.
Basically when i install a new rom, the market has now lost the free apps because thats what it does. the market must have some sort of file it maintains locally with the list of apps, and whether or not they are set to auto-update. where is this list so i can just paste it into my new rom, and market will automatically get all the apps and maintain the auto update settings.
(also i know and use titanium backup so dont reply with 'use titanium', i just want to do what im looking for so the market always gets the latest version on a rom redo and also keeps holding the auto-update status.)
thanks.
Did you try dialing the market update code?
*#*#2432546#*#*
That's suspose to resync with the market I think.

In the sync settings for google, there is a backup option. It will download all previously installed apps when you setup the new rom, including free apps. If you don't want all if the apps to install, skip setup initially and open the market. Use that to log into your google account, then jump to the downloads window and cancel the ones you don't want. It will also insure you have the newest version.
This will not back up app data, however. Just re-install the app.

only see a contacts, gmail and calender in google sync settings.
I have looked around inside the os for the setting. The only way I can find it is to remove my google account and re-add it. At the end, it gives you the option to back up all data. That us the opinion that enables this I believe.

I installed a new ROM and when I log in and try to sync my apps to reinstall them it only shows the apps that came with the ROM. The list of all my apps is still shown online, and I tried setting it as "default" but as soon as I hit sync it makes a new list "app on my incredible" and doesn't install the missing ones...

I'm having the same problem. I went from Myn's Warm to Evervolv and Appbrain won't sync my previous apps. Did you find a solution?

UPDATE: I figued it out. If you go online to appbrain.com you can create an account. Once you create the account it shows the apps that have synched with each ROM as separate lists on the left hand side. You can copy the apps from the old ROM to the new ROM list and then sync appbrain on your phone again and they will show up.
Hope this helps!
Edit: never mind. You figured it out as I was posting.
<STRIKE>Did you try going into manage apps and clearing cache and data for appbrain? Don't know if that'll help, but something to try.

Hi all,
which mail program used ??
I'm looking for a way to install a K-9 mail because i can't install!
Do you have suggestions ?
Thanks guys!
I've installed CM12.1 temporarily and extracted the Email.apk and Exchange2.apk. Works fine with OxygenOS after uninstalling the preinstalled Exchange Services (system app, so root access needed).
Using AquaMail for a long time now, works great on Oxygen too, including Exchange support. It has a paid version though if you want to use more than four Mail accounts.
Tried em all..Boxer on CM is great, but on Oxygen, Nine is the way to go imo

No, normal install by launching the apk (having enabled 'Unknown sources' in security settings).
Ok THX.
My absolute favorite mail is Type Mail, or the other version with a different name, icon and notification: Blue Mail. Exact same app, just those aesthetic slightly differences.
It's free in the app store and can handle multiple accounts and has a dark mode with some theme options. Very nice.

Hey so I have a basic knowledge of this stuff and was goofing around. I tried rooted my S5 and put CM12 on it but after a couple days decided I wasn't feeling it. I got the stock ROM from SamMobile and flashed it back.
Problem is now I do not have the ability to sync Facebook with my contacts. I have checked under Acounts and selected the Contacts sync but nothing happened. I checked the Facebook app and it no longer has the sync setting.
Is there an OEM apk I'm missing?
Thanks
A custom rom is a modified version of android (linux). Once installed, all apps downloaded from Playstore or other official store were no longer recognised by the said store. So no more auto sync, no more auto apps update etc.
Even after I put my phone back to stock ROM?
I have checked with the playstore and all other apps are updating fine. The only change is the fact that Facebook Galaxy integration is missing.
You can't "sync" with facebook now. To sync with any app, both users need to install and give permission to that app. Only then you can sync.

I have checked and currently XPosed is not supported
Upgrading from my old recently broken Note3 I was disappointed to find my new (gently used) Lolipopped SM-N910T Note4 came with Google Calendar installed rather than S-Planner which I was used to from the Note3. Surprisingly I find an SPlanner_OS_UPG.apk sitting in its appropriate folder in /system/app/ which sounds like it might be an upgrade package? But no plain SPlanner apk that I can find and no SPlanner app icon anywhere to be seen.
Rooted, and using File Manager with "Root Explorer" and "System Folders writable" enabled when I try to install the SPlanner_2013.apk taken from the Note3, it asks me if I want it to be "an update to this existing built-in application". When I go ahead and hit "Install" it comes back with a simple "X App not installed." message.
Can anyone tell me what the deal is here? Is SPlanner really installed somewhere and I just need to search harder for it?
