Post counts isn't the point here also the way I see is that the more posting you have the higher the chances of you making an ass of yourself. In this case which is found to be true. I'm serious but not in the way you think. I whole heartedly believe censorship is wrong. However we are kind of at the mercy of whomever owns the board we are posting on. I'm all for free speech as well as tolerance. But you can only have that between individuals on a personal neutral level. You can say anything you feel and it wont offend me. The moderators on the forum in charge of censoring are a different matter. If that makes sense.

Agreed but you and I both know the name of the game and that's moolah, cash, dollar dollar bill y'all. Facebook wants to sell ads. They can't sell ads to you if your on Google+, so they don't want anyone advertising it on their site. Its kind of incredible on Facebooks part. As if banning Google+ posts will make us all forget about it. Horrible PR decision on FBs part. But I'm also a fan of chaos and mutiny. So my view may or may not be reliable.

I begged The_Scotsman for an Off-Topic subforum for the Epic but was told no other device has that and they were not going to start a precedent here. There is one general off-topic thread for Android and that's it. So we are stuck with off-topic posts in General. Shouldn't prevent people from helping out though.

But I don't think you will get the exposure this needs. It is more troublesome when 10 people make new threads on "How to stop OTA notifications" rather than threads like this but that doesn't seem to irritate the same people as a single thread like this does.
Thanks for informing us of this terrible situation. Hopefully XDA as a whole can have a bigger impact on this little girl and her family, than we will ever know!

Don't post them in the first place is the easy answer. Call me crazy but when I come to the Epic General section I expect to read about general epic topics not some vote for me threads, help me with my family issues I created, or donate to me, etc. All the nonsense just drives folks away.

No kidding! I understand getting frustrated by an off topic post from time to time, but when it is something like this, deal with it. XDA is supposed to be a community. I don't know about you, but in my "communities" we help others when we can. Like the Milkman said, the title was very clear. If the topic is of no interest to you, keep it moving.

it's not really the Apple bashing that gets them locked....it is when someone states a pro Apple comment, instead of replying with intellect and decency and wit, people start throwing comments like "retard" and "moron" etc thereby reducing it to personal insults, which is clearly against the rules.
If and only if, these comments stop and people grow up and air some social skills, then I think you will find that the moderators will allow a fun and enjoyable debate.
