My friend in HTC( China) told me that M8 might have a plastic version with A 16MP camera. I think the plastic might be butterfly?(just guessing) SIM card for M8 is the nano one( same as the one used in iPhone 5). They begin to sell it on April15 of course it's Chinese version. But not sure about the time for other region

Hey everyone.
Currently have a HTC Hero. Want to get the Desire Z/G2.
Does anyone know any good priced UK sellers?
So far my best option seems to be Play.com, just wondering if its available elsewhere for cheaper?
Ive googled but most of the sites Ive never heard of/seen/or used before so I am a bit edgy...
Cheers everyone! Hopefully Ill be a proper member of the G2/Desire Z brigade soon!
(No, Im not going to import it unless someone can give me a really really really good reason to)
Its a good phone,I got mine off amazon but in the space of 2 days went up in price by 50 quid!
Nothing against amazon but as I found out when I tried to transfer my phone insurance over they would not touch it as they class Amazon as a "2nd hand" dealer even though they sell new stuff as well, good service and I thought 250 for it new was fair, just be mindful about the insurance angle
Thanks! Thats why I didnt want to import really, most insurers will class it as a 'grey import' and not touch it (Ive had the same with camera equipment)
Im guessing Play would be treated as not being a 2nd hand dealer surely...?
I would get a second hand one, but not sure what versions will be locked down and unrootable (if there are versions that are locked down?)... A couple are available locally on gumtree etc for between £190-£210, I wouldnt get insurance, but Ive always babied my Mobiles so may just go without...hmm...
A bonus of getting a second hand one may be that it is easier to root,i think the newer phones were causing problems to root(I think they have sorted it out) I know what worked for me,
Hopefully welcome to the Desire Z brigade
If I were you, this late in the life of the Desire Z, I'd just buy a refurb unit or used from another person. It's really not worth the price that they will be charging online at this point.
Not sure about the UK market for DZ's, but in the US the going price for a used G2 is in the $200-$250 range.
I brought my dz from www.handtec.co.uk. they seem trustworthy and prices were very good.
The XDA app now has a thanks button. Please use it
I have seen them on simply electronics website in UK for 248 pound brand new, i bought a camera from the same website and had no problem.

I'm sure I had an email last week from either Expansys or Dabs which had a DZ for just over £200. Can't find the email at the moment, I will check tomorrow.

Bought my desire z off amazon too...amazon prices change every now and then..I got mine when it was 250 I dont think it usually goes any lower.

Found the email, Expansys were offering the DZ for £280 sim free but it shows up as discontinued now. Though they B grade stock for the same price.

Hey there im opening this new thread for owners of the new N7100 by Samsung in Mexico, I recently adquired mine and im enjoying it a lot.
lets move to the facts, i orderer it in mercadolibre at the same price listed in expansys. the advantage is that I don't need to wait for shipment an I picked it up by myself in the office of the seller, other nice plus is that the packages comes with the us power adaptor the one with the flat pins so I dont need to use extra adaptors like the european ones that comes with rounded pin conectors or the uk horrible conector.
The device come from fabric with an old compilation marked as UBALI8 without the multiscreen option, so I did a little research and I get form sammobile.com the lastest firmware for latam zone and now everything is working really fine, it was before but the multiscreen was absent. I left u a picture of the room im currently runing and of course works great in any latam country.

Has anybody tried buying one of the third party battery doors off of Ebay and using it with a Sprint variant? They all say they're made for the International variant, but I don't know how different the housing of the hardware is between the phones.
There shouldn't be any difference. I'm not saying there isn't. I bought a battery door off eBay from a guy in Florida that was for the sprint version. The reason I liked it was because there was no carrier branding on it. I don't know if the guy is still selling them, I didn't look.
If it is the back cover just go for it. There shouldn't be any difference
But if your going for full casing I would advice against buying the international version because I've never seen the guts of either and since they have different processors I'll just guess the guts have different sizes/shapes

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I did order the housing in the end. Should be here in about 10 days, so I'll post whether or not it works then, if anybody's interested.

It's available very easily now, I got one for my sister in Pakistan and I have to admit the Coral Blue looks fantastic.
It was the FD variant, for USD 620 here.
I bought it on ebay from the seller tobydeals. Fast delivery and I was surprised about the good customer service. I couldn't find the invoice and dropped than an email. After 24h I received an answer with a link to my invoice. And the phone is amazing. I've never were so satisfied with a phone
I bought the spigen ultra hybrid case. Very thin, good protection, the phone is now less slippery anymore and the best thing is I'm not touching the edges by accident.
