I made a mistake some wheres while formatting the phone in recovery mode. I used Advanced format instead of Factory Reset. So, now when I reboot the phone it's gets stuck at the LG logo screen and the led flashes different colors. I can't get back into recovery mode (hold both volume keys and power then let go and then do the same thing). How can I fix my phone? I can get into Download Mode though. PLEASE HELP!!!!! I have a Rogers LG G2.
To boot into recovery hold power and volume down button. Not both volume buttons... once the splash screen appears let them go and immediately hold them again... then at the factory reset screen hit power 3 times and you should enter your recovery.

awesome, 1 step closer! Now is there a way to get my rom transfered to the internal storage? ADB can't seem to see my phone.
Is there any ways of transfering a rom to the phone while in recovery mode?
So, in recovery mode. WIndows will detect my phone as "g2" in device manager but it has a exclamation mark. What drivers would i need for this? Can anyone help?
1. please visit this site " http://koush.com/post/universal-adb-driver "
2. Install it.
3. Go to Device Manager on the LG D802 search for the folder where you install the universal drivers.
4. This will make your LG to be recognize as Samsung (who cares as long as it works).
4a. Go to the SDK folder > Platform-tool ( https://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html?hl=sk , for the SDK )
4b. Copy and paste the ROM zip that you want to flash (in this case mine will be CM)
5. Hold Shift and right click the mouse when you are still on the platform-tool folder , Run the command prompt.
6. In the Command Prompt
6a. enter adb devices ( this will now recognized your phone in recovery mode )
6b. enter adb sideload xxx.zip
7. NOW YOUR PHONE IS BACK ON TRACK !!!!!!!!!!!!!

First time rooting, accidentally pressed "sideload a zip" instead of install from sd
I'm in fastboot, I flashed the recovery image, then it says to flash the zip from SD card, but I accidentally hit the "sideload" option below it, and now it wants me to "send the package you want to apply to the device with "adb sideload <filename>"".
Can I just go back safely? If not, can I just tell it to sideload the ZIP file if I put it into the right directory?
Such a stupid mistake to make, but I'm new to this and I'm afraid to just start pressing buttons. Can I get some advice?
Thanks in advance

Thanks for answering, but back how? What's the command I use?
Volume up + down + power button pressed. Shot take you to the boot loader screen again

You can go back safely.
You could side load it if you wanted from the computer.
Nothing to worry about it
---------- Post added at 03:05 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:02 AM ----------
And if you're in fastboot you wouldn't see the option to side load. That is recovery. I assumed you used fastboot to flash the recovery then booted into recovery.
Not a big deal. But learning what is what will say you a lot of confusion / user error now and in the future if you run into other issues.
Ok thanks for the help everyone. It seems to have gone smoothly.

It takes a long time, i had this issue before, just enter recovery manually Volume Down + Power at LG Logo release and press again.
Then flash CM or something it will take a long time but it will fix it.
hey thanks for the reply.
i cannot access recovery at all right now... ill keep trying..
Any other thoughts?

ive been able to get back into recovery.
timing is very important for this as i thought there was something wrong, but holding down+power from the off state, see lg logo, immediately release buttons, then hold power key gets you to the factory reset screen. push power to reset, and then it boots into twrp recovery...
stuck in twrp
i accidently wiped everything in twrp. now cant boot into android, nor can install a zip. please advise how to copy zip files to internal sd card to install. please advise fast

Use system recovery in the LG support tool, before connecting the phone to PC turn off completly the volume up + power until U rich download mode. The plug and after PC installs phone, find the Recovery option.

Thanks to your post, I knew I should really give TWRP a chance to restore (which wipes system) and after like 15 minutes, it finished wiping system and moved on.
Thanks for sharing this info.
Hi everyone. A friend of mine has got a problem with his G2:
I have an LG G2 D802 with rayglob flex 3.5 custom rom. Yesterday I tried to install a custom kernel (dorminax 2.1):
1) I downloaded the kernel for lg g2 802
2) entered in twrp recovery
3) Instal - Flash of kernel 2.1
4) after a few seconds a "Succesfull" message appeared
5) I rebooted
6) phone got stuck with: Fastboot Mode started
udc_started()
at the top left corner

Have you guys any tips? He'd like to recover his data as well...

How to flash it if the device doesn't boot even in recovery?
It'll boot into recovery, just hold and press power and vol down key and reboot.
Sent from my LG-D802 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I'll tell him to keep trying, maybe i'ts just a timing issue. Thanks.
So, the suggestion is... boot into recovery, then...? Wipe everything and restore the backup (if there's one)?
Well he can push the correct kernel via adb and flash it

He's not too used to this kinda things (me neither). How can this be done?

He thank you very much.

My phone has done the same thing an when I hit the buttons to go to recovery mode, recovery mode just flashes up an it goes back to the fastboot screen again
I was having the same issue... Until I noticed that it was the power cable that was messing with my attempts to enter recovery!
So here I leave my tip! Do the power button combination without any connection! :good:

is your problem solved yet?
I have just flashed the wrong kernel due to my carelessness and complacency and managed to fix this issue thanks to this thread!
Make sure no power cables are plugged in as it will interfere the process to boot into recovery mode.
Hold power button down until the phone is completely off, keep holding it there for another 10 seconds.
Hold volume down and power button together now until LG screen comes out. let go of power button only
If all goes well you should see TWRP recovery and thank TWRP team for their great work!
There's a Dorimanx app in the store so this doesn't happen.
flashed the right kernel (located on an usb pen drive attached with otg cable) sorry how to do it ? any link ? thanks

after the LG logo, the "Team Bliss" logo appears immediately. even if i hold volume down + power, the phone will eventually reboot and get back to the LG logo
Try this - Hold power and volume up, as soon as LG logo appears, let go of them both, press and hold them both again. You will be in recovery. Then do the full format. Did you install the correct bootstack before flashing your blisspop ROM? That could be the issue.

Read their 2nd post and download the appropriate bootstack. Once in recovery, format everything, flash twrp 2.8.7.1 with thermal f2fs, flash bootstack, flash rom, flash gapps. reboot system. done!
How to Enter Recovery Mode on LG G2 (quick easy steps)
Press the Volume Down and the Power Button at the same time, about 2-3 seconds until the LG Logo shows.
When the LG Logo shows, release the buttons and then press and hold them again.
Keep pressing the buttons until the Recovery Mode Menu displays.

I flashed a Rom with no root and Adb is broken on this Rom. How do I get in to recovery without either of those?
Did you figure it out?
Turn off the phone. Hold the volume down button and plug the phone via USB should reboot into fastboot. Then just use the fastboot command to reboot into recovery.
Tried, but I dont think there is a command to do that from FB
You could try to just download Terminal Emulator and type 'reboot recovery'. You shouldn't need root for that command. But then again, this thread is almost a month old - I would hope he had found a solution by now.

Power the phone off (pull battery if necessary)
Hold power button and volume down key until you see LG logo, release and then press the power button (DO NOT RELEASE THE VOLUME DOWN KEY)
This should bring you to the factory reset menu. Select yes for both questions (use volume keys to toggle and power to select)
If you installed TWRP correctly it will boot to recovery...
If TWRP is gone, it will factory reset and you can get into your phone.
