I recently bought a brand new G2 Which the owners claims was a Bell phone. The phone is not rooted.
what I find odd is that there is no bloatware on the phone. I am used to Rogers who load up their phones with lots of bloat.
If yoi have a Bell branded G2, what did you have in the way of bloatware?
Thanks

I have been reading through the forums about the G2. Now I want one and would like to get the Verizon model which comes SIM unlocked (to use on GSM networks).
1) Can you guys confirm the Verizon G2 model supports all necessary bands on T-MO to get HSPA+? Ditto with at&t please.
2) I hate the crapware carrier put on the phone. Is it possible to "flash" the Verizon model with the LG stock ROM?
To answer number two just flash cleanrom or delete the bloatware

Is it possible to completely delete the bloatware or can those apps only be "frozen"?
Also, what about the invisible crap like that software the carriers install to track everyone, huge scandal last year if you guys remember (Carrier IQ, was it)?

verizon no longer uses Carrier IQ. You are safe from that spyware.
Hey guys,
On a s4 now, and it has been acting up (aka random shutoff) and insurance said I should replace it. They are cutting me a check and I need to purchase one today. I researched the heck out of the ATT and TMOBILE variants, but I cannot find where the best place to get it is (aka COST). Also, I am not the best with technology, so how hard is it to use the TMOBILE on the ATT and does the carrier aggregation stuff matter?
Thank you sooooooooo much,
Brad
I'm thinking about purchasing a Sprint Galaxy s4 (what can I say, it's purple). However my provider is AT&T. If the owner gets it unlocked, is it compatible with use on AT&T? I'm thinking I could flash an AT&T ROM on it, but if I can't do that without bricking it, maybe I can still use it stock and rooted. If I use this on AT&T are there any features I might lose, for instance LTE? Thanks for any help on this.
I want to start by saying how much I loved my Note3, it is an amazing phone, and has done a lot for me in the time I've had it. That said, I've recently upgraded to a Note4, and it's time to part with the Note3. I always root my phones, and put roms on them, and all of that, but before selling it, I want to revert it back to a fully "stock" configuration. Ideally I want the next owner to be able to start fresh, and even get updates if/when they become available.
The phone came from TELUS, and, as far as I know, is still locked to that provider (I haven't checked, but neither have I done anything to change that)
I found a couple of supposed "TELUS" firmwares that I flashed via ODIN, however in each case when I booted the phone up, I was surprised to see Bell pre-installed apps, and not TELUS. Now I understand that Bell and TELUS phones are the same except for the software, but the software is the important part here. If I'm selling the phone, someone is going to be mighty confused to buy a TELUS phone, that must be used on the TELUS network, but has all sorts of Bell garbage per-loaded. (even more so in that TELUS pre-loads less bloat on their phones than Bell does)
So, does anyone have a source for an actual TELUS image I can put on this thing? (not a Bell one labelled for TELUS)
Hi,
I am on AT&T using a T-Mobile S5 because it's a better device to run RoMs on. Someone suggested GSM nation as a place to purchase a Galaxy S6 unlocked. I am looking for folks who have tried that, and am curious how the experience went for them. It would seem that they sold the 9000M version of the S5.
Was it updated faster then Carrier versions?
Was it limited at all by not have Carrier bloat?
How was your warrantee experience, if you had to use it?
Any other thoughts?
I suppose I can buy an S6 outright from T-Mobile and just put my Sim in it, but I thought I would explore all my options.
Thanks!
