[Q] Unrooting from 80210b to 20a? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there! I want to unroot my unit for the sake of the warranty. I just want to know if it is safe to use the updated stock rom (kitkat d80220a) than my current stock d80210b. Using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2625044, I just want to unroot but I want to use the latest and updated stock rom available. Im from Philippines and the update is being rolled out last day. The fimware is already available too, and i already have it.
Do i need to undergo hard reset first? What more do i need to know first?
I hope someone can help me. Highly appreciated!
Thank you!

Returning to Stock please help

Hi,
Hope anyone can help, I basically bought a UK i9505 unlocked or unbranded from phones 4 u, I have since rooted and installed a few custom roms\kernels.
I'm basically looking to put everything back to stock, I am currently downloading firmware I9505XXUDMH8_I9505OXXDMHA_BTU, can you tell me if this is the latest and correct firmware?, also I don't really understand what the CSC is?, would I need to modify this and when flashing the firmware will the kernel change to an official stock or do I need to flash that as well.
Finally at present my system is modified, how do I get this back to official and 0?, I do have the triangle away app.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I want to double check everything as I'm not that confident with the process and mainly the order of the steps in the process.
Thanks
Mav

Restoring default Android version

Hi
I recently bought a second hand S4 from Amazon but it seems that it have customised firmware installed; PhoeniX ROM. I was wondering what is the easiest way to remove this and bring back either the default or latest version of Android.
Thanks
Try to restore firmware throug kies application first, but surely, it will fail.
So the best option you have, IMO, is to download a stock ROM from sammobile, wioe the entire phone, and flash it
Ignore kies, it won't work
Just flash a stock ROM via Odin
whats the chances of bricking? any advise to avoid this? thanks

[Q] Unroot and return to stock.

Hello XDA. I am going to unroot and return to stock firmware and recovery as i would like to update the phone through samsung kies. As i understand i need to update the boot loader and modem. I then plan to reroot and install ktoonz recovery and get a newer rom. I have an SM-g900w8 (telus) currently running x-note NE2 software version 3 i belive and ktoonz 08.04.2014 kernel with twrp 2.8.0.0. I rooted the phone 3 days after i got it and never took a samsung update. I am just curious as to weather i need to revert to stock recovery before i flash the stock firmware. I made a brick out of my S2X trying to revert to stock so i am a little gun shy. Also wondering if this whole coarse of action is advisable and worth the trouble. If there are any known issues with rooting and flashing after samsungs latest updates. Also if anyone can provide or point my toward the stock firmware for a telus sm-g900w8 that would be great as i cant seem to find a reasonable place to download it. i apologize for not doing more reading and research but i just spent 6 months away from home working so i am trying to catch up. Thanks again XDA any help info or criticisms are appreciated .

S4 Root Updates

Hi all,
Sorry for newbie question but hoping if anyone can help
I have a rooted s4 (v 5.0.1) not on a custom rom as far as i know and noticed there have been some stock updates recently and was wondering on the best option to upgrade
Is it possible to just upgrade and keep my files & data without losing root? If not please can someone advise the best options? I need to keep data really and think titanium would be the best option if i have to flash back to stock?
Thanks in advance
You can always just reflash cf auto-root. It will take you excactly 2 seconds to flash it.

Need Help Fresh Install of Stock 6.0

I did a mistake, it is possible to move this thread on help section?
Hi all, today ASUS released the OTA but in some days the full rom will be also avaible.
I want to do a fresh install but i don't know how do this :crying:
I was a Samsung S2 Plus user and there was really easy flash something but on ZF2 with fastboot and recovery i don't know where go.
I am using full stock ROM unroot never touched. There is a SAFE way to flash a full firmware? I read that someone deleted some partition and IMEI was lost
Thanks for the help.
Regards,
LightDestory.
