Note 3 and HTC One - AT&T Galaxy Note 3 General

Hello guys, well recently I purchased my Note 3 and so I kind of wish I should get the HTC One. I really love the build quality of it, but then at the same time I know the Note 3 packed with more features and it's better spec wise. What would you recommend me to do?

Stay with the note 3. Or wait a few days and see the new one.

Did you came from the orignal note or maybe the S3?

So basicly I wanted to see how many people came from the original note and upgraded to the note 2. Maybe even some people that came from the S3 since its nearly the same smartphone with a larger screen. Or if this is your first note
And maybe share your experience so far
I came from the S3. Loving the Note 2 especially the S-pen feature. At work I need to take notes so Ive set the Note 2 up that whenever I take the Spen out it automatically opens the S Memo so this is perfect for me. The faster processor and bigger screen makes browsing, playing games and watching videos better. I do find it slightly big to use as a phone but the pro's out weigh the cons. All is all I am very happy with it.

I came from Note 1. I lost my Note 1 a month ago. And I got a Galaxy S Advance (a great phone actually) as a temporary phone. But, I already decided to get Note 2 anyway. =) The best!

I had both also. Neither of those compare to the Note 2. This is the best device I have ever owned.
Note > Galaxy tab 7.7 3G > Note 2
The tab was great but was a bit too large for everyday use as a phone
Coming from Galaxy S III... and loving the Note II <3
I came from the Note 1.I had unfortunately for 2 months cause a problem with the screen came and i return it! I didn't bought a second few months back since it was my first meet with the android! I waited and now since a week ago i have the Note 2 which is awesome!!!
I came from the S2 - > Note - > Note 2.
Samsung has been batting home runs nonstop in my eyes. Every device I've purchased from them has made me a very happy guy. Haha.

Switching from Note I to Note II

I'm seriously planning to buy a Note II and I currently own a Note I.
However, currently I see there are almost all new features that are available in Note II are now available for Note I (based on N7000XXLS7 rom update), will buying this now will really be a worthy upgrade?
Considering only on features and not on ROM Capacity , Processor type and clock speed?
Any comments would greatly appreciated.

While original note is an amazing phone, just for battery life is well worth the upgrade. I used to average 4 hrs of screen on time on my note but on note 2 i average 7 hrs. Throw in hardware upgrade and JB and its an easy decision.

Agree completely. If you like your note1, you'll love note2. I thought note1 was reall, really good. Note2 is the best phone I've ever laid hands on.
I think the upgrade is debateable.
I made the leap. The power, speed, camera, features,.. amazing.
The 1... is still good.

I wondered and thought about gn2 upgrade and thought it wasn't really worth it but still got it on 1st day it was released in the UK and so glad I did
Note 1 is was and still is a great phone but even with jb it still wont be as good as note2 only thing I could tell the difference was going to 16/9 screen I could telk it was just a bit narrower but after a few days soin forgot plus the screen on the gn2 soon made me forget
You wouldn't:thumbup: be disappointed

You won't regret the upgrade. Trust me. I've yet to hear a person who has regretted buying the note 2.
Having said that, the one disadvantage of the note 2 over the note 1 is the inability to move apps to sd card in the note 2.

How?
The thing you'll like best with the GN 2 is peace of mind. Forget about battery life, just use it... and use it... and use it again...
Battery Life
LED indicator
Narrower design is more pocketable - when i ride my motorcycle, i can't tell it's there.
overall- i'm happy with the upgrade over my old GN1
To be honest, I regret buying the note 1 and sold it after a month. However, note 2 is way better and think I am going to stick with it for a very long time. Best phone right now imoh. So go for it man.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
I'm finding the note 2 much easier to hold in 1 hand, and the speed is pretty awesome. Although I'm using cm10 so the rest if the Samsung features didn't really lure me in.

I'm thinking about it as well. Had my Note on EBay today and took it down as I have JB now and the prices will be dropping soon. Costco has the S3 for 129.00 . Black Friday deals could be worth waiting for. I don't see the advantage of the International version anymore except for the FM. Tough decesion. But the longer I wait the better idea I will have on which TW Rom will take the lead as well

I am 100% happy with my Note II and I think anyone who buys one is unlikely to be disappointed, however I didn't get that "blown away" feeling that I got when I first switched from SGSII to the original Note.
I Broke the screen on my Note I & have not got around to fixing it, so mine needed replacing anyway, before I broke the Note I, I absolutely loved it and feel it was probably the best smartphone I'd ever used ( and I have used plenty) I feel the Note II is for all intents and purposes the same phone as the Note I with a few tweaks, and since I prefer to run CM10 I have to say I barely notice the differences between the two - this is not a slur against the Note II , more praise for the Note I.
Maybe if you are a fan of Touchwiz & all the S-pen stuff then its a different story, but my experience is like an iPhone upgrade - simply more of the same with a few tweaks.
In daily use there is little difference for me, personally. My gf has the 1 now, and i am jealous of her extra 80 pixels.

which will be your next handset after i9300?

1. S4/s5
2. Nexus4/4
3. note 3
4. Other android phone
5. Other phone?
Id intended to wait 2 years until I upgraded but 1gb of ram is working out to be ridiculously low and basically, while ideally id love to change to wp8 I'm addicted to android.... I'm waiting to see what the final specs of the note 3 and nexus 5 will be, and choose between the two. I'm thinking note 3 is the strongest contender as it will most likely be a powerhouse but pure android is tempting too

I`am thinking of Note3 as everybody, but still waiting for Motorola X phone.
And hoping for phone with IP67 (water and dust proof), big battery and possibilities above S3 AND most important - with dock station with i can use my phone as home computer.
Hopefully soon an Oppo Find 5 or it's follow-up by the end of this year.
It's screen, sound and UI create the ultimate user-experience I honestly find unmatched by any other phone.
The only reason it's probably unknown to you is it's lack of marketing in comparison to the iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S4.
It's something you guys should really check out! :good:

I'm stuck between:
Note 3 (of course)
Sony Xperia Z1
Nexus 5 (when officially released to know the specs, but having it always get the latest updates does sound attractive. )
The HTC One Max is also a big phone that looks good, but we'll see. I've had the Note, Note 2 and SGS2 and my partner has the SGS3, and we live together. Samsung makes good phones and makes them to last (mine is 1 year old with 0 issues). But I might want to try something a little different, hence the change in device. 5 inch displays with on screen controls make the screen size even smaller. So I'm thinking of crossing out the Z1 and N5, but I don't know. They're VERY good phones and the camera on the Z1 is kick butt!
Note 5. Maybe then Samsung has 4K screens and a good developed flexible screen.
Probably a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 or something innovative.

I'll see the official specs of the nexus 5, especially the battery and the price.
It was announced to be 3000 mA and now the last news says 2400 mA which is clearely not enough.
I think I can sell my Note II and buy and Nexus 5 without loosing any money (or not that much)
Or else I'll keep my Note for one more year, I'm happy with it.
Note 3, rest doesnt come closer to it. Will buy in a month once prices cool down a bit.

Some advice from note 3 owners

So I can uograde tomoz to the note 3 on ee 4g at a good price but would you guys wait to see what the new nexus5 is like or get the note 3 as people think the nexus5 will be good but not as all round as the note 3.

I would think resale value nexus is going to be about £300 new N3 is £600, and do you want a nice 5.7 screen and a pen, i would go N3 all the way
I think the screen size is a determining
factor
