INTERNAL STORAGE Total Size 0.0B - Defy Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi ppl,
yesterday i flashed my defy mb525 to cm10 android 4.1.1, after flashing my internal memory shows TOTAL SIZE 0.0B.
1. i thought of wiping once again, i can't goto the option of recovery mode.
2. i can't able to install 2init from my sd, stating "to remove any of application from internal memory".
3. i thought of doing factory reset, but the internal storage option is not showing.
Kindly help me with this issue. :crying:

did you resolve it? I'm having the same problem and dunno what to do.

Done it but nothing ca't resolve it and I can't even clear Cache and dalvik from the partition. It's like the intermal memory doesn't exist.

Nope It isn't recognized, in setting-memory it's 0 gb. I wanted to try remount it or something like that but my knowledge is quite limited with adb and dunno if it's possible with our locked bootloader.

Might be a bad flash or some problem with the SBF. Worst case it might have to do with hardware. Are you sure you are talking about the stock ROM (the software you get immediately after flashing SBF and NOT installing jelly bean)?

No terminal access, no free internal memory
Hello everyone,
I am completely new in changing ROM and so on. So I searched all threads I could find to be sure, the things I am doing are more or less approved. Nonetheless, problems came up.
I installed this mod on my defy (green lens) yesterday by the following steps:
1. Rooted with superoneclick 2.3.3
2. Installed 2ndInit Recovery
3. Wiped
4. Installed this mod and gapps
The mod is running, but ...
Problems:
1. Internal memory is full. Memory on SDcard is almost completely free. But I cannot install any kind of app oder .apk oder whatever.
2. I cannot delete anything on the internal memory.
3. If I reboot, all settings etc. are gone, so I have to redo all the settings (name, language, wlan, ...).
4. Terminal allows me no access. Everytime I get the answer: Permission denied (which is necessary because I wanted to delet tombestones to clear the internal memory a bit.
5. The recovery is again standard, so I cannot reinstall or uninstall.
6. Because of the problems with the internal memory, I cannot install the 2ndInit Recovery again.
I am almost sure, I did oder do something wrong. And yes, I know, never do any modding, if you are not knowing what to do. And yes, I know it was probably a bad idea. And no, you don't need to tell me how dumb I am.
If anyone has an idea how to delete some internal memory and/or to get the terminal running and/or reinstall 2ndInit recovery, I would be very grateful.
Thanks!
Hi,
Your /data partition got corrupted while flashing.
To fix this, just wipe /data and /cache using the stock recovery and then flash a SBF using RSD Lite in bootloader mode.
Good Luck.

Worked perfectly! I installed froyo. Hopefully I get it done to install ICS. JB is probably still in an early stadium yet.

You did that and it worked? What ROM? Did you do anything special? I tried that the other night and had to rsd my phone back to ICS and reroot and update! Sup with that. I used cm 10 and it made my phone go into fast boot mode. "Failed HAB check" I think is what it said.
you can only used it stock type modded firmware i think ? DHB and other stock like ones.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner... BDH is what I used.
Follow this method.
1. Create ROM slot 1
2. Load BDH rom how you like it
3. Nandroid
4. Activate stock rom slot.
5. Delete rom slot 1
6. Wipe everything X2
7. Restore nandroid into stock rom slot
8. Wipe cache and dalvik
9. Reboot
Have fun!

Should have looked at this yesterday. You the ss guru! If you hadn't responded I would have given up. My hands shook bad both times as I rsd my phone. I bricked and broke many in my quest for root and ROM.
Sent from my XT907 using xda premium
I know that feeling. Last night I got my phone stuck on boot animation didn't have safestrap installed so I had to flash the firmware through rsd. My hands was shaking too because the flash kept failing. Finally I had to do a factory data and cache wipe to get it to run. I won't make that mistake again lol

[Q] U8800-51 crashing apps; can't factory reset

A few months back I rooted my girlfriend's Impulse 4G and installed a custom ROM. I don't know the exact ROM but at the very least the boot screen says "Kalo 'Perfection'". EDIT: I believe it was this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1553705
Anyway, a few days ago apps started to crash randomly on her phone. When I reboot the phone, apps begin to crash after a minute or two of use and continue to crash more frequently until it's unusable.
I've tried: factory resetting it, uninstalling apps with adb, installing titanium backup pro with adb and uninstalling apps, clearing cache from recovery, factory resetting from recovery, restoring a backup with roadkil's, flashing a new rom, flashing a new recovery, updating to stock with the dload folder on my sdcard, and ...
no matter what I do, when I reboot the phone it always returns to the same state, unchanged.
And, long-time lurker here who registered to beg for help, of course. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Are you able to provide logcat?
I turned on the phone and let it boot for a minute, then ran logcat. Never used it before, so let me know if you need something more specific.
h t t p : / / pastebin.com/eMTJmvLZ
EDIT:
And, if it helps, when I try a factory reset from recovery I get "E:format_volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block/mmcblk1p2". I'm using CWMR Touch v6.0.1.0.

There is no such block as /dev/block/mmcblk1p2 in the phone. But I guess your phone is different to the normal one.
The only thing I can think is that you have probably flashed the wrong android for your phone. What Custom ROM did you flash? Can you give me a link to both the recovery and the ROM (link for where you downloaded them from).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1553705 I believe this was the ROM. I can't find the recovery at the moment but it's CWMR touch v6.0.1.0. Based on the instructions given with the ROM I'm using the wrong recovery
I am not familiar with your phone, but this might help:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1889305
Meanwhile, I will try to get someone who is familiar.
Unfortunately I've tried everything I can from that thread, I think. Whenever I replace the recovery.img it doesn't stick when I reboot. Same for the roadkil's image. I tried to recover the image I made before I rooted the phone but it never sticks.
I think your partitions for data and cache is incorrect or missing.
What pink screen are you trying to restore(2.2,2.3,4.0,4.1,4.2?)

[Q] 6gb avilable on the 32gb model after flashing android 4.3

2 days ago i flashed android 4.3 on my nexus 7, after using it for a while i noticed that the total space is 6.02 gb on my 32gb model.
i looked for this problem online and found someone who the same thing happened to him while flashing 4.2.2.
the answer was to wipe everything, data and internal storage. so i did it and the same problem repeated , i flashed android 4.2.2 back but the same thing happened. how can i solve it?
Follow the instructions in this thread, post #10. It will fix you right up. It is the proper commands to flash through fastboot that will get the memory right.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1776860
Of course, change the bootloader and system image versions to correspond to the 4.3 values. Eg 4.23.

Actually, it wont. It is an issue that can happen when fastboot incorrectly formats the system and gives it the wrong size, making the remaining unusable. Recovery will read it incorrectly also, and only format the space marked as useable. Re-doing by using the correct fastboot commands is really the only way to get the whole thing back to useable and active.

Yes it will as this has happened to me on several occasions after flashing 4.2.2 and 4.3. Reformatting reliably corrected it each time.

U8800 Official 2.3 Gingerbread Downgrade Issue

Hi Guys
I installed the official Gingerbread that is available from the Huawei site. Install was successful however phone boots fine for the first time but once i reboot it I am stuck in boot loop on Huawei logo. Recovery is reset to default so cannot flash anything that way.
I cannot root the phone via SuperOneClick as it needs logging switched on (Requires reboot).
When I access pink screen no drive is mounted in windows.
How can i remedy this problem?
