Hey guys. Is there a way to freeze the software update so it doesn't force push the kitkat ota overnight? I don't want kitkat until they get the battery drain from Bluetooth and phone idle under control.
I know of titanium backup and fotakill. I'm not rooted though.

There is no way to stop it unless you are rooted you really can't do much unless you are rooted its difficult to not have root because you need root to freeze apps

Have anyone had problems with AT&T Drive Mode draining the battery, if so what steps did you take besides uninstalling to stop it? I am not rooted.
Umm... Freeze it?

I disabled it and will check it tomorrow to see how it goes.
Peeps from the OG know what I'm talking about. The optimus G had an EcoMode, where the processor dropped 2 cores and throttled the other 2. This phone doesn't have it. Is there any way to bring one onboard WITHOUT tripping that root checker? I would love to have it, but I don't know of any way to bring it on without root.
Alternatively, what was the name of it's system file on the OG? Does anyone know?

Have you decompiled your systemui.apk, framework.apk or the lge.apk? It might be present in that..

I froze all kinds of Sprint and LGE apps in Titanium Backup in effort to stop PRL updates but the software ZV8_13 update still showed up this morning. Irritating.
I'm rooted/stock and got the notification as well.
I hear the update opens up a couple of bands and improves signal. I'm very tempted to install it but waiting a bit for some questions to be answered.

Do I need to root my D800 to be to change my themes like you can on the other carriers version of this phone? I had the sprint variant of this phone and had to go to AT&T due to signal issues. Stupid how AT&T conveniently left this feature out. And still let you manually change individual icons. All except the app drawer.
Anyways. Is there anything I can do to get this feature on my device.?

Bump.

Yes you would need to root to gain the theme chooser ability on the d800

I'm guessing your last phone was a Samsung? I had the same thing happen because Google Play pushes what was last installed on your device so if you had a Samsung with Samsung push services it will install it. I started freaking out when my phone started downloading 100 apps and started eating my data up lol.
Just remove the push service from Google Play and it won't happen again if you factory reset or something.

Thanks for the hypothesis. I had a sgs3 before this phone.

Yeah, I just upgraded from a Galaxy s2x
I even tried the S4 but returned it, much happier with this device. Now I just need to find a mod to try out that works for the Canadian phone...
Enjoy your G2!
