[Q] LS980 bricked? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I was running a ROM(aosp) flashed optimus. I'm on ZVA, SO I DIDNT flash the radio. I then lost connectivity and nothing worked, downloaded cloudy, same issue, I decided I'd download the modem, didn't fix anything. I then downloaded freegee and restore my EFS(imei etc was missing in the settings) but(pardon me) THE DUMV ASS HOLE SOB DEV MADE IT REQUIRE INTERNET CONNECTION THAT I COULDN'T GET.(the previous greeted wouldn't work) so I decided to boot to recovery and do the efs restore via adb. The phone now is stuck in fastbook. I'm on windows 8 pro, the lg thing won't recognize my device, and the last back up of my efs is trapped on my phone. If someone could help me, please, I'd be very happy. I'm not a noob, I just have no idea what to do. Sooner the better, I don't work for the next 3 days. Anyways, thank you all, and have a good night

[Q] Can not get into download Mode LG G2 AT&T

HI Folks, Before you say just press the volume up and insert the usb cable to get into download mode, I have tried that. Does not work! So that makes using lg flash tool useless. A little history my be in order here.. MY wife swapped her phone and got the lg g2. it worked fine. She gets an update from at&t and excepts it not knowing that her phone was rooted. You know the rest.
Know I have tried everything suggested on these forums to get it working. I have sideloaded a rom using adb which installs but boots right back into clockworkmod recovery. I have pushed the rom and selected install from zip, It installs and boots righ back into clockwork mod recovery. I have wiped the entire phone multiple times and re flashed, re installed the rom and it boots back into clockwork mod recovery.
I am at a loss here. It seems like the flash tool is the way to go IF you can get into download mode. This phone will not go into down load mode. I have worked on this for 3 days now per every instruction on her and nothing. Does any one have any suggestions that I may have overlooked?

[Q] HELP HELP HELP verizon ota butchered my phone

i was running digital dream vs1.1 for the verizon G2. i got ota update notification last night but i was too tired to deal with it. well my gf rolled over to check the time this morning and meant to use knock on and coincedently knocked on the part of the screen that said install now now. now no matter what i do it wont leave twrp. i tried wiping, reinstalling, restoring, nothing works. any ideas?
Using TWRP, go into command mode and type the command used to turn off the flag to boot into recovery. Should get you back booting on 11A.
If you screwed up and Factory Defaulted, then you'll gonna have to restore stock and update naturally before hacking.
To restore stock, you gotta download the stock TOT file and use the flasher to go back to stock, then update the OTA updates twice up till the latest 12B. RE-Root and reinstall TWRP.
Nothing else works. Not even restoring a backup. The Flasher app was pretty straight forward after downloading all of the DLL files needed to launch it.

Sprint LS980 up ****s creek without a rom

Hey guys rookie mistake went to flash a new seemingly successful rom and forgot to make a back up first. Now my phone is on but black screen. I can get into recovery but I have no backup. Also when I connect my phone to the computer it no longer recognizes it. I have all up to date drivers. They worked yesterday. Ive been reading about bricked g2 on boot loop and other variances and trying different things all day with no success. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

This may have been discussed before. Ive searched here and google. Plenty of horror stories and the only one ive seen with the same problem never got a fix or least didnt reply on the boards about being fixed. My phone will not turn off no matter what I do. The screen is slightly lite up and will only boot to recovery(where I have no backups) and download mode where it basically does nothing and will not connect to my computer reguardless of it having the right drivers. So I have no way to my knowledge to flash a new/stock rom. I even got desperate and did a hard reset. Changed nothing but deleted the original rom I was attempting to flash.
Install pda net driver or koush drivers.

So confused now... Bricked? Not bricked? Please help?

OK, so here is the current situation. I've been searching, reading, and following different recovery procedures, but nothing seems to be working as it should, so now I'm posting here to get some guidance as to how to proceed.
I have a Verizon VS980. I had Malladus ROM 1.2.4 with furnace 0.1.0 kernel installed. I have Philz Touch recovery. I wanted to try out Sliding Lockscreen, but when I got installed and tried to reboot, my phone went into a boot loop. I booted to recovery and tried to restore a backup, but it said it couldn't find any backups... although I did have backups. This is when I started getting confused. I tried wiping cache and dalvik, no effect. I read through a bunch of threads here, tried a bunch of things that worked for other people, etc. Finally said screw it and did a factory reset through Philz. No joy. Tried several different methods to revert to stock. No joy. Oy vey.
So now the bottom line is it only gets to the LG screen with the LED doing its color changing thing, and thats it. Stops there. I CAN boot to Philz Touch recovery by power+vol. down, go through the factory hard reset menu, then it gets to Philz. Now, there has got to be a way to regain my phone from here. Like I said, I tried the 2 different methods to revert to stock... I can get all the way to the point it supposed to start flashing the stock ROM with the tot file method, but it just doesn't start flashing the ROM when its supposed to. Is there a way I can get a ROM from my computer to the phone? When I enter download mode (vol. up while plugging in USB), it says updating firmware, warns not to unplug while its updating, but its not doing anything at all, and at the bottom of the screen in a box it says something like "b100" in the top left corner of the box, and "ROOTED" in red letters at the bottom.
So, what in sam hell is going on with my phone, and how do I fix it? Is there a way to get either the stock ROM or Malladus from my computer to the phone so I can re-flash? I'm thinking thats all I need to do to get out of this.
Please... someone help a totally confused and now smartphone deprived guy? Please?
Dude, are u running the flash tool on pc while trying to flash stock rom? Just booting into download mode won't help. Or u can transfer a rom to a USB drive, connect it to ur mobile via OTG cable and then flash the rom via recovery

I was able to revert to stock. After stepping away from the computer and phone, taking a cig break and a few deep breaths, I reread the tot revert instructions for 127th time. Found my mistake... I kept forgetting to change the com port to 41. Did that, revert worked just like it was supposed to for people who are not blind idiots who miss crucial little tidbits like that. I can't believe I kept missing that. COM Port 41 is ingrained in my memory forever. I may have to get a tattoo of it now.
I went so crazy trying to find the solution (yeah, didn't think of a flash drive either) because I was so determined not to have to resort to posting in the forum. The moment I give up... boom, I figure it out. Live and learn.....
Well, on to re-rooting the phone, re-flashing Malladus, and re-downloading all my crap...
Lol, happy to know that ur phone is back working, cheers mate

D801 bricked. No download mode.

Short version: phone won't boot, won't go into download mode, won't properly do a factory reset (tries but doesn't do it), need help.
Finally bricked my phone after tampering with it too much.
I was on the stock KK rom released by LG themselves, no root. Reverted back to the 10c firmware, OTA to 10g, rooted and installed TWRP - flashed a Vodaphone Germany KK ROM for the LG G2 because I heard it had minimal bloatware and no bluetooth wakelock unlike the KK version I was on for T-Mobile (my carrier). It had the touchscreen issue which I never experienced before. Tried multiple times to go back to any T-Mobile LG G2 ROM using the LG Mobile Support Tool - no dice. Uninstalled and reinstalled everything twice. So I figured, oh hey, I probably need to use the Vodaphone Germany JB.kdz file, root that, install TWRP, then flash back to the T-Mobile KK version that I had before. Seemed fool proof in theory. Used the LG Tool to do such, it finished smoothly and now my phone won't boot. It won't do a factory reset (it enters the factory reset mode and it attempts to do one but just reboots). It won't enter download mode either. I think I'm screwed here. Any advice?
I found 2 guides, but to even begin to do the first one I need my phone to enter fastboot mode and I can't find out how to do that anywhere.
you say Won't go into download mode? What happens when you try?
It just shows the first screen as it tries to enter download mode, with the blue dots. The screen that comes after that doesn't happen anymore. It used to switch to it after a few seconds and then the LG Mobile Support Tool could connect to the phone, but it can't anymore.

would you PLEASE fix your posts so the signature is at the bottom?
The same thing is happening to my ls980. I'm certain it's hard bricked. Download mode shows on the screen but won't boot into firmware upgrade screen. No recovery at all. Os will not completely boot but does show on pc as LG modem. Think it's totally done for. Let me know if you make any progress because we both have the same problem.

Didn't work for me. Windows and Ubuntu didn't recognize my phone. I actually ended up ****ing up my laptop by overwriting a partition but that's on me.
Decided to take it in to a T-Mobile store and blame it on the Kit Kat OTA. It turns on, doesn't boot, doesn't factory reset, doesn't fully go into download mode - how are they gonna know I ****ed it up? I have basic insurance on my plan because the JUMP program is tied into it. So for a little over $10 a month I just gained access to a warranty exchange of my device which is set to ship overnight. Can't wait. Huge stress reliever. I advise you take your phone into your carrier store and do the same as I did.

Same is the case with me, my phone is dead for more than 20 days.
