my phones 3g stopped working 1 day after i flashed a new rom so i tried flashing it again and that didnt work so i am trying to go back to stock with the how to return to stock guide on here but i cannot get my pc to recognize my phone in downloading mode
i can adb when its on and the drivers are installed but when i boot into downloading mode it just says device is unrecognized
i have tried a different computer and reinstalled the drivers more times that i can remember. what would be the next step here?
is there anyway i can start fresh even if i lose root?
There needs to be a q&a section.
The drivers suck.
What os are you using. Persistence will be your friend. Don't forget to power cycle everything.
im using win 7 64bit
The win 7 drivers are actually vista drivers if I remember correctly.
Which Odin arevyou using? Do you have clockwork?
i have tried 1.0 and 1.3 nothing works. and yes i have clockwork thats how i install my roms.

any chance of the original epic Rom? the one that came with the phone prior to DI07? i used Oden to rever to stock and then applied the update (DI07) but Android Market is not working (i'm guessing corupt (g)Talk file).
Data Wipe + Clear Cache did not seem to help when in clockrecovery, the android market wont let me download anything

this looks like the other file that you will need.
apparently the first one writes system the second for the modem (phone/data)
lmfao your gonna kill me for this but as soon as i finished transfering the file to my sd card 3g just started working.... maybe it was just a glitch with my signal over here? im going to let it be and if it messes up tomorrow then i will flash that stock rom and see what happens...
incase it doesnt work where can i get that 2nd file and how do i install it?
This post here.
i am experiencing some issues with my HD2
Firstly i have MAGLDR 1.13 with clk recovery, i was using jawsMIUI for a long time, like 4 months...
NOW i decided to change because my microSD had some problems and deleted some apps and i took the opportunity to switch to gingerbread, so i downloaded http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1062881 (ginger miui) and tried to install it on my device. Since i thought the boot partition was already the right one, i just wiped (factory reset+cache), formatted my SD and partitioned it by CLK recovery, put the .zip update on my SD card and tried to flash it. And flash it i did. But the device gets stuck on the green HTC logo after magldr starts the rom, like the rom bootsplash, i know it may take a while so i waited like 45 mins, it should be anough shouldn't be?
So i tried to flash new partition layout but i discovered both my PCs don't recognize my HD2 anymore! That's unlikely because with one of those i distinctly remember to have done all the MAGLDR+Android stuff, and it looks like there are no drivers in the PC...
Now what should i do? Am I missing something?
Sorry for the bad english i hope someone helps!
if there are missing drivers there should be a message in the system bar. you should be able to install the drivers then over the internet. had the same problem first when i chancged my notebook.

yes but the problem is that one of the two notebooks i am currently using is the one i first use to setup my devices with android (i came from a WP7 distribution, thus i first flashed WM6.5, then MAGLDR and i even did something to install the right drivers, i recall a step where i had to block drivers in device manager or something like that, then recovery and stuff)
BTW i managed to download the same jawsMIUI i was using before and it looks like it works, but still i have to solve the drivers matter so that i can upgrade to gingerbread!
Uninstall the USB drivers on the PC then reinstall them. All I had installed was HTC sync.

i'll try again... thanks man
Just found an easy to follow video on a how to install CM7 on to your HP Touchpad
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=997I8k1AIzc
i see the video and i see all step by step, but in the step moboot screen the tablet choose automatically choose the first boot webOS and the table not working the touch, and the scree says touch the android in the screen but the touch not working and i need power off the table for choose the second boot any help for me!!! i need back to moboot screen please help me!
at moboot screen you use the volume rockers to scroll through the menu. If you dont touch them then it boots to android in 5 seconds.
I followed this guide and had zero issues. very well done.

As a self-professed dummy, I can attribute to how easy an install this was.
Been running it for about 2 weeks now.

(version 3.3 now, woo hoo!)
I read the instructions on another post and watched the video twice before attempting this. Twice I've tried and when I get to typing novacom boot mem:// < ACMEInstaller and hit return nothing happens.
When I tried it the first time and nothing happened I figured I had missed a step or had typed something wrong, but no, when I tried it again and went VERY slowly and made sure I was completing every step the same thing happened. Everything up to this point went just fine.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Same issue here. I checked under "my computer" and it doesn't see the touchpad at this point, though it did previously. I can't figure it out.
I may try on a different computer at some point.
Please let me know if you figure it out.
Thanks
I installed the sdk and then uninstalled and installed just the drivers. Still no love. What ended up working was a reboot to my computer.

My Touchpad is working great on the latest XRON ROM, but my moboot seems to have as a primary choice to boot on WebOS if nothing is selected. (when I did ACMEInstaller command on cmd, it only appears to have installed CWM and Moboot, I had to manually install the XRON ROM.) Is there anyway to change preferences as to the preferred OS to boot on?

If you have Preware installed in webOS, download the application called CyBoot. I modifies the settings for moboot like the default boot option, the "next boot" option (Don't know what this is), and the time delay before automatically booting the selected OS.
I tried on a Windows PC and it would not work. I took it home and tried it on my MBP and it worked flawlessly.
Not to start fanboy war here, but it was a lot easier on my Mac, so if you know someone with a Mac, try it there. I didn't type in a single thing into Terminal. I just cut and paste the command and just dragged and dropped the necessary program and driver into Terminal and hit Enter. Two minutes later, I was at the Android "touch" screen.
I found this version to be the most telling and a NO miss step by step

If thats the case do everything just the same way but put the xron file instead of the CM7, along with the moboot and cwm files.
Don't forget to rename the Xron file to have 'update-' at the start of the filename.

I can across that video too since I'm obsessively looking up how to flash CM to my TP that just came in today. I'm that nervous type that has to be fully prepared before rooting/flashing something.....lol
EDIT: The video you posted was actually different from the one I found and I like your findings better

Oh well..it is still more than worth it!
Just installed this using his mac version, very simple.
hey guys, im bored and was thinking of installing ubuntu on my nexus but before i did it i was wondering how do you get back to android. im pretty sure your recovery stays, so if i just boot back into twrp can i just restore a backup or flash a rom and then its all good or do you have to do a complete reset, unlock etc.
also i saw zedo's video start this but didn't mention how sucessful it was. can you backup ubuntu via twrp and restore it whenever? this isn't really important to me but its been in the back of my mind.
thanks in advance guys
This doesn't exactly answer your question, but I think you should give this a try: MultiROM
It lets you easily install Ubuntu alongside your current Android installation, and it's easy to uninstall too. I've been switching back and forth between Android and Ubuntu for a day now and have encountered zero issues.

cool! ill look into it. if anyone has answers to my original question tho that would be awesome to
I'm mostly guessing here, but couldn't you just use on of the Nexus Toolkits to revert to stock and flash recovery? Whichever recovery Ubuntu installs (why would it even install another one, I don't know), there must always be fastboot or flash option?
I installed it the other day. You lose everything. You could keep your nandroid on your PC. Or just install multi rom like mentioned above.

I have prepared a rooted system image for the 64 bit version of the newest release 2.0.7 (available on download page of Phoenix website)
1 Install PhoenixOS using the installation tool from Phoenix OS download page. DO NOT BOOT PHOENIX YET.
2 Replace the stock system.img in the PhoenixOS folder with this one right after installation.
3 Then do initial boot of Phoenix.
4 After signing in, immediately update SuperSU from the Play Store. You can then update the SuperSU binaries.
Link to the rooted system.img is https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3gcDbDvV4MkYkN3azVJZFhoa0U/view?usp=sharing
Please thank if you found this useful.
Thanks a lot!
PhoenixOS, incl Playstore, works smoothly on my HP10 x2 -- now a triple boot
(Ubuntu 17.04/Win10/Phoenix2.07)
I had to do a boot repair after installing Phoenix, but that was to be expected

Did you test normal Phoenix install first?
As I said before, my installation went smoothly, Playstore works, thanks to lollyjay's instruction. Thank you again. However, sound and vid don't work on my machine, and I am not really impressed with Phoenix OS. Or not yet, will use it a bit more.

Sudden reboot after selecting Phoenix is a big problem. Did you make a copy of your original system.img?

So, many apps that play videos either only give me audio or don't play at all. Funny thing is that apps like YouTube and Twitch will play the ads without any issues at all.
thanks alot
Bottom line here is:
1 You should install Phoenix OS using stock system.img and test to make sure that it is compatible with your computer
2 If your computer is compatible with Phoenix OS then it's compatible with this system.img
3 Uninstall your Phoenix OS using the uninstall program
Then you can proceed with steps in the OP

Hi, I run Phoenix on a AMD64 (HP x2 10, Intel Atom 8350). It runs fine, except for sound and vid, and it doesn't rotate. I actually have it triple boot: Win 10, Ubuntu 17.04 and Phoenix OS 2.07

For me most apps (Youtube, VLC) work, except MX player. Which is annoying since I like MX player a lot.
