[Q] Flash Problem

Hi,
O was trying to flash the Spica i have with the 2.1 eclair from this site here (http://androidadvices.com/update-sa...-enhanced-eclair-21-firmware/4/#axzz1hUOWV4sN)
I followed all teh intructions, but on ODIN, i just get that it is detected and it trying to start tyhe connection...
reason why i wanted to flash to eclair is because im having ano boot problem, it just stays stuck on the samsung logo after loading and doesn't do anything else....
any suggestions??
after a few mins of looking for a solution outside xda after searching here for about 2 hours, i was able to resolve it, i followed the intructions from here(http://forum.samdroid.net/f28/phone-stuck-samsung-logo-my-phone-bricked-1840/)...
Keep spica_jc3.ops in Select OPS field.
Click Reset Files to clear the fields.
In Select Images to download panel, Select I570EXXJA1_CLI32638_Bootloader.tar into BOOT field,I570XXJB4_Phone.tar into PHONE field, I570EOLBJB3-CSC-CL167487-OLB.tar into CSA field, and let the PDAfield empty.

No service: I need some smarts in here!

Problem:
No data service; I cannot call, nor text, nor use mobile data.
Symptoms/info:
Cannot change "Preferred Network Mode"
"Emergency Calls Only"
Network: unknown
Mobile network type: unknown
Service state: Out of service
Baseband version: G900R7WWU2AND8
IMEI: <this hasn't changed>
Phone: Ntelos Galaxy S5
S5 model: G900R7
I'm in an area with good service
A circle with a line through it indicating no internet data access
If I attempt to use the dialer: "Mobile network not available"
If I flash to a miui rom, I get the error: "LTE: ESM-x, EMM-15"
Possible Cause:
This seems to have probably occurred after an in-rom OTA update for the Mokee rom
Attempts so far:
Rebooted
Fiddled with APN/Network settings/preferred networks
Tried other roms
Restored previous build.prop
Restored previous apn setings
Flash stock modem
Restored stock rom using ODIN
Repartitioned with .pit file using ODIN
Used Kies' most recent stock rom
Nothing has helped a smidge. Any insight? I'm not afraid to get technical.

Thank you for the reply, but no matter what I enter into the dialer, I get the same "no mobile network" message. After typing in *#0011# the popup window in the attached screenshot appears. I suspect that a window whose menu has a "Back" category was expected to appear, so I was unable to accomplish steps 2 and 3.
I plan to take the phone to an nTelos store today, so maybe they can fix it. I just how they do not care that the knox is tripped
vndnguyen,
I am still experiencing the exact same problem as well. I'm updating with the info you requesed as we speak.
Thanks,
Tony
It's fixed!
So I went to store today, and they were baffled. The issues was that my phone was stuck in GSM mode, and refused to become CDMA again. They reset the network on their end, then that didn't fixed it, and said I could try restoring my phone to factory conditions through the back-up icon in the settings menu. Although I have restored it several times, myself, when they did it, it worked. The difference may have been because they had just reset something on their end before doing the restore. Anyway, it works now, and I am happy.

StockSM-G900F/SCL23 Very strange behaviour - Wake lock + NAND Corruption + SMS Issues

Hi all
Came across a Samsung Galaxy S5 I've now taken the liberty of trying to get working...
The phone was purchased from eBay I believe - brand new and in original packaging. The instruction manual is Japanese, as is parts of the ROM so I'm assuming Japanese origin.
The model number in the phone settings is quoted as SM-G900F, under the back case of the phone the model is quoted as SM-G900J, on the box and at places in the ROM it's quoted as SCL23. Which is it??
User has never modified the phone firmware/recovery or flashed the device. The device has knox 0x01 and a custom ROM on it which perhaps the seller installed?
All the following problems started around mid day yesterday, user was not doing anything unusual with the device - just regular usage.
The problem
Wake lock started mid-day yesterday according to the graph in settings. Continues after phone restart
At the same time, sending and receiving text messages became extremely slow/delayed. The phone just shows the spinning icon next to any text that is being sent (same in Hangouts and Messages) and the text takes 10 minutes to a few hours to come up on another device. Sending texts to the phone is also just as slow. (phone calls work fine)
Mobile data is working without issue
Google Play store does not load - eventually shows that the login is not valid after a long wait
Snapchat does not load correctly
All other apps appear to be functioning
All files in private mode have been lost, adding files to private mode seems to delete them when private mode is disabled (nothing shows up once the mode is enabled again)
Unable to install APK files locally, after clicking on the APK nothing comes up
Phone no longer shows up on PC as a media device or filesystem. Computer does recognize the phone in device manager - although I think it's coming up as something other than what it normally comes up as
"Reset to factory" accessed from inside the phone's settings does nothing when the button "delete all" is pressed
Samsung "smart switch" PC software sits on "connecting to device...." until it times out.
Samsung "smart switch" emergency recovery/initialization options ask for model number and serial number - only IMEI and model is printed on the box. Under the battery there is only IMEI. Inside back case on phone it says only the model. In the settings of the device it has a serial number listed which is around 8ish characters in similar form to 123456a78. None of these numbers are accepted by smart switch as the serial number. (device is not even plugged in to PC, why do they need the serial/model?)
What I've tried
Booting in to recovery - there doesn't appear to be a recovery. Holding the usual button combination brings me to a single screen with a long paragraph in Japanese and a yellow escalation mark with two options. Pressing up volume key restarts the device and the down volume key enters download mode/ODIN
Smart switch software on PC
Resetting the device to factory settings - a bit difficult with no working recovery and the option in the phone settings not working
Found a recovery/root to flash that promised a stock recovery and root (I really just wanted a stock recovery or A recovery) on these forums, flashed via ODIN and device restarts immediately to ODIN saying "device could not boot" in red at the top. Turning device on every time resulting in this "could not boot" - still the same screen shown when recovery buttons are held
Flashed a recovery (looks successful on PC and in ODIN on phone screen) not CWM, the other starting with a T whose name eludes me right now - phone boots up normally in to the buggy system immediately after flashing but doesn't usually boot up when restarted or turned on normally. Still the same screen shown when trying to boot in to recovery
In about 12 hours, if nobody suggests anything else, I plan to flash a stock ROM or cyannogen mod in the hopes that this fixes whatever issue is happening here.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
Turns out SM-G900F roms and recoveries are not compatible with this device despite it saying SM-G900F in "about phone". I had to flash an SCL23 recovery that I found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60291007&postcount=31
Factory wipe did the trick!

"Setup assistent has been closed" loop after flashing gApps

Hey guys,
I flashed this ROM on my LG G2 (802) http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/development/rom-official-mokee-source-project-t3274849/page2. Everything has been okay so far.
In the Mokee thread I read installing gApps would work like this:
"you can go MokeeCenter after starting rom, there you can download the small gapps integrated into the system and have a lighter and clean rom."
Unfortunally for me there was no option to download gApps via "MokeeCenter". Of course I found Settings -> MokeeCenter.
So I decided to download open_gapps-arm-6.0 (has been the minimal version, I think) and flashed it.
After I rebooted into system, I now am stuck at a popup which immediately and continiously pops up, saying "setup assistent has been closed". So I cannot do anything else than pressing "ok ok ok ok ok ok"
Big problem for me now is, that for some unknown reason, I cannot boot into twrp recovery using one of the hardkey methods.
I usually was able to do it like this:
- Shut down.
- Press power + volume down until LG logo appears.
- Release only power button, then immediately press power button again (while still pressing volume down).
I think I now tried any of the other methods as well (power + volume up instead of down... or release power AND volume down, then press both again... and so on...)
None of them work for me.
I might have to mention, that after the first appear of the popup loop, I read something about flashing "bootstack-d802-CAF-signed" as part of a solution.
I did so, but it diddn't help. Instead of a solution this might be part of my problem, because since I was able to flash it I obvously must have been able to enter twrp before this step.
What should I do now?
By the way: Can some of you tell me, if the annoying crackle/hissing of my headphones is gone with Android M?
I want to know this, because this has been the ONLY reason for me to flash Android M, since I wasn't able to find a solution for Android Lollipop (CM12). I find it extremely (!) uncomfortable to talk to people using my bose qc25 headphones/headset since my Lollipop update, because everytime when a person speaks just a few words with longer pauses between the single words, I have sound errors and hissing/crackles and even some really wired kind of "distortion" at the beginning of each single word and often have to ask people to repeat what they said.
The headphones themselves sound absolutely okay, it's just with the LG G2 phone. (i.e. a friend's Samsung S5 works fine with the bose qc25)
If this bug isn't gone with Android M (or at least fixable) I think I will buy a new cellphone instead of trying to unbrick my LG G2 if unbricking will be a pain in the ass, so I am very interested in an answer regarding the sound bug as well.
Thank you for reading.
with best regards,
Milan
I now have been able to setup a guest account. Running the guest account, I can quit the popup by pressing "ok" once. It doesn't return and is followed by "Gallery stopped" which I am able to quit too. But as guest I cannot get root access to use a software based reboot to recovery, right?
follow these steps
1. go to settings and find applications menu
2. select find system applications from menu
3. find installiation wizard or something else (i am using my rom in Turkish "Kurulum Sihirbazı".
4. click on it and edit permissions
5. enable people and phone sections.
6. cheers

Problem was, I could not navigate because there has been this fu*** popup always on top.
I have been able to enable root access and advanced shutdown options by clicking almost 1000 times "ok" at the annoying popup while I used another finger to tap something at the screen as soon as possible. Scrolling was like stuck motion this way... So I have been able to enter twrp and flash another rom.
Nonetheless I tested calling a person with the guest account (by allowing phone calls for guests via the same "tapping-technique"... took me aboout 10 minutes) and found out, there are exactly the same hissing /crackling problems with Android M than with Android L. So I will try Android Kitkat now. This bug is very common. Is there someone who can tell me a working solution? I am pretty sure my phone did not have this bug when I bought it with Kitkat OS installed. So a kitkat rom is my last hope right now.

Milan

Special thanks to rootjunky. I used part of his work to get this done. Enjoy
1. Startup priv
2. Connect to wifi
3 when priv shows checking connection then immediately it shows software update switch of router to stop connection with the priv
4 hit next till u get to the setup pattern screen, setup a pattern lock then restart phone
5 when phone restarts phone will be locked with the pattern u setup earlier.
6 launch the dialer button from th locked screen and dial *#*#4636#*#* to enter secret menu.
7 hit on usage statistics
8 hit on the back button and u will find yourself in settings
8.1 go to users and add user
8.2 enter any existing gmail account details
8.3 after completing setup for new user go back to settings>user and tap on owner
8.4 from here proceed as per step no. 9 and 10
9 scroll down to backup and reset
10 reset phone and when phone starts up, setup a new device. That's it
Special thanks to rootjunky for tips
