Can't escape encryption even after flashing stock with Odin - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have a galaxy note 3 from Ireland, and I wanted to root it so I followed the instructions I found online. However, when it booted back in after ODIN it still askd me for the encryption pin. If I entered it the phone screen just went black.
So I downloaded the firmware and flashed that with ODIN, and even though it seems to flash successfully it still prompts me for the encrpytion pin. I know the pin, but it just goes to a blank screen.
Can anyone help me with this? I don't care if I lose my files, I just want to get the phone working again!
Thanks.

Then the phone rebooted and ask for a password, I've tried samfirmware.com and samsung-firmwares.com without any luck. I've tried flashing 5 different roms in odin with the same result - can't get past the password screen

Just enter a wrong password several times and it will disappear. Don't worry, your phone won't get blocked.

Sm-g530t frp

I had just rooted my phone, everything went fine, business as usual. I restarted my phone since I hadn't put my SIM card in it yet, but when it booted back up, I got a screen that says, "Custom binary blocked by FRP. Secure Fail: Kernel" and that's it. I tried a factory reset and it didn't help.
Anytime it boots, it comes back here. I'm still able to go into download mode and system recovery. If there was any way to fix this, I'd assume it would be through one of these. Does anyone have any advice on what to do?
EDIT: If anyone else gets the same problem, I managed to fix it after flashing a stock rom from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/grand-prime/general/guide-flashing-stock-rom-t3039167. The kernel download takes a long time, so be prepared.

Recovering from FRP Lock, did I brick my phone?

Hi all,
New user here, not much experience rooting or messing with firmware for phones. I was following the guide on how to flash the SM-935U firmware to the verizon model of the Galaxy S7 Edge, and may have bricked my phone. Here's what I did.
Followed the guide to the letter.
Powered off phone, booted to Download mode
Fired up Odin, selected the SM-935U firmware files, and clicked start.
It gave me an Auth error, which research revealed means that I forgot to turn off Reactivation Lock. I figured, "Fine, I'll just disable it. However, I can't get the phone to boot again. Every time I leave download mode, it boots into Android Recovery, where, no matter what I do, it just reboots into Android Recovery. I can't Wipe anything because it can't mount /system - probably due to Reactivation Lock?
I've been research and researching ways around this, and everything I find just points back to flashing it with the stock firmware. But then I read that you can't even do that if Reactivation lock is on, because Odin will still fail with the Auth error. So, I can only get it to boot to recovery mode, and I can't flash it with anything?
I did read somewhere that if I choose to wipe the phone's EFS with Odin that it should override activation lock, but then it clears the phones IMEI, which is an even bigger mess, isn't it?
I feel like I have to be missing something... since it never did the wipe, why is it that I can't get past the recovery mode. Shouldn't I still be able to get into the system somehow?
Does Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions for me? I'd really like to not be stuck with a permanently bricked S7 edge if at all possible....
Solved
Just wanted to post this to help anyone else who might have this issue. Turns out that you can flash the stock firmware, as long as you're flashing at least the same version or newer of the stock firmware as what the phone was running prior to getting stuck in recovery mode. It shows you what version it was running in the recovery mode at the top.
So for me, I googled the exact firmware version that recovery mode said the phone was running, downloaded it, flashed it with ODIN, and it worked just fine. Had to choose to wipe with the recovery mode after I flashed it, but then it booted like normal. - Then I enabled OEM unlocking under the developer menu, and tried flashing the U firmware again with ODIN, and it still failed with the auth error. Huh.
Turns out (maybe I wasn't doing it right or something) that you can't flash older versions of the firmware to the phone. But, as long as OEM unlocking is enabled, you can flash the U (unlocked) version of the current firmware to the phone and it will take just fine. Hint: I was able to determine the "version" number by looking at the last 4-5 characters of the build number... the verizon version I was running for my SM-935V was: VZW-G935VVRU4API3 - So I googled the API3 firmware and found the U (unlocked) version for my carrier (I happen to be using T-Mobile) on this site: https://samsung-firmware.org/model/SM-G935U/ and found the zip file name which was TMB-G935UUEU4API3-20161011161050.zip, googled that, got the rapidgator link, downloaded it, and that flashed just fine to the phone, and now my T-Mobile SIM works perfectly in what was previously the SM-935V, which now identifies as an SM-935U in settings. It's beautiful.
Also, you need the PIT file, but I was able to use the PIT file for the phone model number (again, found at the top of the android recovery menu), which for my phone was: HERO2QLTE_USA_VZW.pit (googled that and got it off androidfilehost) - I was able to use that PIT file for the T-Mobile U version of the firmware and it worked just fine.
Hope this helps someone.

I need help, my s7 edge in bootloop after a factory reset and other things.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, I thought I was smart enough to try and root the phone but I was wrong. Now it is in a bootloop. I have tried everything...I did a factory reset, flashed, cleared the cache partition, I have used Kies3, Smart Switch, ADB server, Odin , I tried it all and now I am just needing help if anyone can help me.
I tried to go back to Kies3 but it keeps rejecting my serialnumber for some reason, I even went back to the recovery log in the recovery console to make sure the serial number was right. I also thought maybe I flashed the wrong firmware with Odin? I am not sure I got the right one because I amnot sure what PDA means on the download site, so I am just lost now. The only thing it does is a bootloop and I can get to recovery console, and the bootloader.
If anyone can help I would so appreciate it.

If you have Bootloader it can be fixed. Download the firmware from sammobile and put the files in the spot it says it is. PDA file will go to PDA etc.
Edit. Sorry forgot that PDA is the old Odin. Download the newer version v3.12 and put the AP files in the AP slot and the same with the CP file and CSC. You might wanna try leaving the BL file out as when I did mine it would only work if I didn't add BL.
I had quite the same thing. I rooted my S7 Edge abd installed Lineage, but I was not satisfied of it, so I decided to come back to stock ROM. This was impossible : flash with Odin, with TWRP, etc... All came to a bootloop or freeze when the phone booted.
And yesterday, after a new attempt, the phone booted and now, it works very well. I don't really understand what changed or what I did more, but it seems that your phone is not bricked. Try another Odin flash with forcing CSC maybe.

Sm-T580 FRP lock and custom binary blocked by frp. Cant flash twrp recovery.

So im trying to install twrp recovery but when i try to flash it thru odin, i get a Custom Binary (RECOVERY) blocked by FRP lock. I cant factory reset because it also disabled by FRP. I cant verify the tablet because i dont know the account information as the tablet was bought through craigslist. I have tried flashing a stock firmware version and that installed fine, but i still couldnt get past the verify screen. So thats when i decided to try and flash twrp but came into the binary error. I have been trying for the past two days to find a way around the verify identity and the frp lock. I cant enable oem unlock. I have tried rootjunky method but OTG flash wont pull up the file manager when plugged into the tablet. I cant use adb because i cant enable the developer settings because you guessed it i cant get past verify identity screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sounds like you need to find the Combination Firmware.

I already tried that method but didn't work. It's on android 7.0. I tried downgrading to sm-t580.. XAR firmware 6.1 and it worked but when it boots it goes straight to a black screen asking for a password. I tried the frp call method as well but it doesnt have wifi calling.

It only works with certain versions of 6. The one ending is PL4 is the one you want. The trick is in adding the fake wifi network instead of connecting to your home network. Pay close attention to the beginning of the video.

Okay thank you. I will try that again when I get home. And this works on version 7.0? The device is currently on 7.0 but when I tried the pl4 md5 it flashes it but when I boot up the device it just goes to a black screen and asks for a password. It doesn't start at the setup wizard

You have to use Odin to install PL4. You can't flash it via TWRP. Also, make sure you wipe everything first.

I know. I can't install twrp like I said. I've been using Odin to flash everything. But when I flashed the pl4 file and tablet goes to reboot. It doesn't load the setup wizard. Doesn't show the welcome screen and pick a language. It goes straight to a black screen and asks for a password. Doesn't ask for an email or anything.

Yea but when I try to factory wipe it says mdm doesn't allow factory reset and reboots and takes me back to that same black screen. I can only wipe cache partition. I will post a picture of the screen when I get home.

Tried this as well. I did it about 20 times before giving up. I might try it again and do it about 30 to 50 times. If I was just able to get to settings I'd be straight but I can't get to the settings so that's why I'm trying to reset it as a completely new device. Do you know if I could flash the 7 inch tab A firmware onto the smt580? Or flash the smt585 firmware onto the t580 and flash the BL AP and CSC?

From what I've read, Airwatch MDM lock can't be removed by flashing ANYTHING. It is third party anti-theft protection that has nothing to do with what ROM is installed. I know I ran into their stuff a few years ago with a used laptop I bought and only Airwatch was able to solve the problem after contacting their customer and verifying the laptop wasn't stolen.

I did end up finding this. Seems the device is completely locked with no way to get around. When i flashed the device i may have deleted the admin privilages so there is no way of gettting around it as of now. I might end up paying someone to fix it or get around it or i wasted 180$ on a locked device. The guy i bought it from either blocked my number or deactivated his number as i cant get in contact with him. Pretty pissed. Thanks for all the help tho
I had the black screen password happen to me when I downgraded my SM-P580 from Android 7 to 6. Try clearing the cache. If that doesn't work, try reflashing, then turn it off and reboot to recovery and clear the cache.

Do you think if i changed the CSC to a different region on the tablet, and put a unlocked bootloader on it, would it might get rid of the frp lock? Do you happen to have a smt580? If so do you think there is anyother way of getting around this? say if i flashed like your firmware on to my tablet? Im desperate to get this thing unlocked as i would be out 180$ :crying:. Thanks for all your help so far. I really appreciate it man. Thanks to everyone who has helped so far.
Or what if i downgrade it to 6.1 and then downgrade it again to a even farther back version? Do you think this might work and gett me around the black screen? If so then i would be able to bypass the google verify account. Ima go ahead and try it unless its a risk of bricking the tablet completely.
I also read somewhere that if i flash the cp part on odin that it will erase all data. Think that might be worth a shot? But what do i need to insert in the cp slott? I know BL goes to BL and AP to AP and CSC home goes in CSC. So what goes in the cp slot?
EDIT: So instead of putting csc home in the csc slot i put the other csc file in its place. I checked the re partition box. When i did this i got a new message on the tablet in the top left of tthe download mode that says FRP is enabled, ignore PIT download. Any idea what this means?
