Anybody know what SIM Toolkit does on the I9505G? I've read up on Wikipedia that it's for carrier services, but since I bought it carrier unlocked and it always appears to be running in the background anyway, I'd like to freeze/greenify it. Anybody got any info or reasons to leave it alone?

I was looking at the updates to the s4 and saw the update thinking that it was for the ee s4 with disastrous consequences. I now have the t mobile set up with my ee card. Do not have wifi just wont switch on and it has 4g in the Window where you would find the normal 3g logo. There are also a couple of issues. So my main question is where would I find the stock rom or the update to put it back to normal

The SIM card may be locked to the device it was activated on. I suggest going to a T-Mobile store to see if they can help.

i tried 3 sim card ... DId they lock all the sim cards?? .. thanks for the suggest i will go to t mobile today
It is likely that they lock the cards to the device that the card is activated with. It seems like it is the only possible reason that you can't use T-Mobile cards.

I went to t-mobile. They tried another sim car and the phones was the same no sim... the said that the problem was with the phone cuz the sim cards are news and working on other phones... i dont know why the problem is only with t-mobile sim cards.. they say that if the phone was from t-mobile they could change me for another phone but it is at&t.... do u you think that it will be any problem if i go to at&t and tell the that my phone is unlocked but it doesnt read t-mobiles' sim cards

They could help. Might as well try. It is a very weird situation. If other SIM cards are working with it, it shouldn't be the phone...

Yes the problem is only with t-mobile... but i will take the phone to at&t tomorrow

Is it possible that you didn't unlock all the bands on your device? There is a tutorial around here somewhere that shows how to unlock all the bands for use with absolutely any carrier. From my understanding it is different then just unlocking with a code.

Yes but it should said invalid sim car or ask me for that code when i insert t-mobile sim card... but the phones says no sim.. it doesnt even read the sim.... and when u unlock with a code i think is like factory unlock cuz my father unlock his phone with a code and his phone works fine

I searched around but couldn't find anything to solve my problem.
I just bought a LG G2 D800 from Ebay, clean ESN and I double checked it and it was clean.
I unlocked it in CyanogenMod which only required 1 unlock code, but then reverted to stock 4.2.2 restore where there's 5 different locks? When I try to tap each it displays, "Your phone is not personalized".
I slotted my MetroPCS SIM in and the phone displays "Phone not allowed MM #6" on reboot.
Those are all the steps I have done so far to try and use my MetroPCS SIM. This is my first time ever using a GSM Phone, I have no idea what to do now. I've tried to look around Google and XDA and can't find my problem. There was no errors on the AT&T SIM.
looks like a carrier simlocked phone. Is it carrier branded?

Factory reset has done nothing.
Basically, I unlocked the phone, but it isn't unlocked.
Is there any way to reset the lock? Or something of that nature.
I live in Australia and there is a couple of different models being sold by different retailers here namely SM-G900X and SM-G900I. With all my previous Galaxy phones I used to flash them to Polish ROMs as they got firmware updates well in advance of Australia but the Polish ROM is SM-G900F. Is there any issue still doing this does anyone know? I cant even find a 900I ROM to reflash with if something goes wrong and I don't want to brick my phone the second day I have it.
Anyone have any idea? Also the Australian 900I version has its dock icons locked which is annoying.

im in the same boat as you maye so frustrating
There must be someone game enough to try this out. There all isn't a 900I ROM available anywhere.

Ok I gave up waiting for an answer and went and saw a friend in retail with stock and we tried it on his demo unit. You CAN NOT flash a 900F from onto a 900I it errors out before it begins saying the model is different.
Seems like we are stuck with the handicaps imposed on our model as Samsung has chosen to make regional models.

Same thing with the Aus S4. You can unlock the dock but you'd have to root the phone first.

The S4 I just flashed mine to a UK or Polish ROM and had no issues and got updates earlier.

As per title really. Completley stock phone using a Tmobile uk sim.
Sim creates valid hotspots on other phones and other sim cards also are unable to share internet. Hotspot is created but any connecting devices report no internet.
The phone is a grey import, apparently from korea if that helps.
Everything else is working fine.
Really need to get it sorted as i use a tablet and qpair. Ive tried both qpair and standalone hotspots to no avail.
Any ideas? Ideally i dont want to root, or need to unroot after as i use apps like sky go that wont run if rooted.
Thanks
Anyone? Any suggestions?
A

Sounds like a hardware fault to me. Have you tried s factory reset? Other than that not sure there is much you can try.

Umm i sometimes have the same problem with my G2. If I don't have any security (as in no password and encryption) there's never a problem.
